I’ve had a red velvet cupcake from Lola’s before in 2019 and really liked the taste of the cupcake. Due to the price it was expensive to go back until recently when Lola’s introduced their new reward point system. As I had enough points for a free cupcake I decided to go and try the red velvet cupcake again. I’m not sure if it was the batch or a new recipe but the cupcake lacked sweetness. The cream cheese icing was thick and creamy but tasted of strong cheese lacking the sweetness. The cupcake itself was moist and had an indulgent cocoa taste but was also lacking sweetness. I don’t need the cupcake to be too sweet, just enough to feel like I’m eating a cupcake. As at one point I thought I was eating bread with cheese spread. It hasn’t completely put me off going back to Lola’s. Maybe I need to try a different cupcake..
