I just had to share our wonderful…

I just had to share our wonderful experience with London Polishers. Our poor marble floors had seen better days – they were covered in a web of scratch marks, dull etch marks, and a few chips that always caught my eye. My heart sank every time I looked at them.

Then we found Chris and his team. What can I say? They worked absolute magic.

From the moment they started, they were so lovely and punctual, always arriving right on time with a smile. They transformed our tired, damaged floors into something that honestly looks better than the day they were new. The shine is incredible, but it’s more than that – it’s a deep, clean glow that makes the whole room feel brighter and warmer. It’s like bringing a cherished piece of family silver back to life.

We are just over the moon with the results. They’ve given our home a fresh start, and we are so properly chuffed.

We’ll definitely be using them again to work their same magic on our bathroom and kitchen countertops here in Knightsbridge. Couldn’t recommend them more

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The job was rescheduled at the last minute without any tangible explanation. When I asked Christopher if someone else could attend, he told me he could ask his colleague — but added that his colleague “hates travelling across central London.” I didn’t need to hear that as a client, and it immediately made me question the level of professionalism.

Despite several requests, I was never given a phone call to properly discuss anything, not before the job or after the complaint. I was the won’t doing the chasing.

Everything was handled via messages, which felt impersonal and dismissive.

On the day, the technician Mohammed arrived and spent a significant amount of time taking cigarette breaks and casually chatting with a friend or colleague. His whole demeanour was very laid-back.

After polishing, the floors did look better initially, but then Mohammed walked across the freshly sealed tiles, leaving lots visible footprints. When I complained, he came back the next day, but the marks were still there (just slightly improved). I also had to ask him to move a large plant pot before sealing, which he did, only to place it straight back on the freshly sealed surface.

Within a month, the tiles looked dull and shabby again, despite the weather being good and minimal traffic on that area I honestly don’t believe the right sealant was used, or that it was applied properly. I sent photos and raised my concerns, but Chris replied saying everything was “industry standard” and still avoided a phone call.

I paid £650 and feel that the end result isn’t much better than before the job. The whole experience left me feeling frustrated, unheard, and disappointed. Based on this, I wouldn’t recommend this company.

I understand your frustration, but I'd like to clarify a few points based on Mohammad's technical assessment and our company's policies.

As Mohammad explained, the composite stone used in your outdoor area reacts differently to restoration than natural stone. Sanding inherently lightens its finish due to the stone's composition ( manufacturers added a darkener) , and environmental factors (sun, rain, foot traffic, sand) accelerate this lightning. This is not a result of inadequate work—it's a natural process for this material. No restoration can prevent this, and resealing with the industry-standard product we applied only slows degradation, not prevent it from occurring.

Restoration improves the appearance but can not reset stone to a permanently new state, especially outdoors. The recurring scratches and wear you're seeing are unfortunately inevitable due to exposure and use, even if minimal. Regrouting, which you declined, would have enhanced longevity and aesthetics significantly, as previously discussed. If we had to polish all the scratches out, the stone would be even lighter.

Regarding foot marks, Mohammad addressed this immediately upon your concern, and we consider the matter resolved. We stand by our team's responsiveness in rectifying on-site issues. Attempting to polish out all scratches will unfortunately leave an even lighter finish.

For the price paid, the work met industry standards for composite stone restoration. We can not take responsibility for natural wear or reimburse for future work, as the outcome aligns with the limitations we outlined pre-job. That said:
We do not recommend further polishing, as it will only lighten the stone further.

While we regret your dissatisfaction, threatening a negative online review is unproductive. Our priority has always been a prompt, professional service, as shown when resolving the footprint concern. We hope any public feedback reflects the full context.

We recommend consulting a stone specialist to discuss replacement options if durability remains a concern. No matter who you use, the stone will lighten again. I see from your video you have only discovered this once sweeping up all the rubbish. This will definitely change the shade due to it being damp.

We appreciate your business but stand by the quality of our work given the stone's damage.
