Steve was incredibly generous with his time and expertise. He took the time to talk me through the issues raised in my survey, explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand and putting it into the context of owning an older property. His years of experience were obvious, and he gave me honest, practical advice rather than trying to tell me what I wanted to hear.
He was balanced throughout and never tried to influence my decision. In fact, he felt the roof issues could potentially be reflected in a renegotiated purchase price. His role was simply to help me understand the condition of the property and the implications, so I could make an informed decision.
Ultimately, I decided to pull out of the purchase because of the roof, along with a number of other concerns identified during the buying process. Looking back, I'm very glad I made that decision.

I helped my son sort out his leaking flat roof in Stoke Newington,North London. When I started I did not realise how many issues there can be with flat roofs. Before doing anything I would recommend asking Steve for a link to his YouTube channel. I watched all his videos and got a good understanding of the difference between warm and cold roofs and the potential complications with each. Other roofing companies had recommended replacing the roof with fibreglass or asphalt the former being quoted at £30,000. Steve did a very detailed survey and recommended just replacing the skylights and lead flashing around the perimeter of the roof. Jason and his colleague did a really good job at a third of the cost. Interestingly Steve did not recommend fibreglass. We are very grateful for the quality of his work and his professional approach and I would highly recommend him.

He originally stripped and resurfaced my roof terrace and gave me very clear explanations of how it should be done, and what he would do.
