Hi Anita,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we’re genuinely sorry for the frustration caused by the delivery and import charges, and we’re sorry that the overall experience didn’t meet your expectations.

For international orders, including those to Switzerland, parcels must pass through local customs once they leave our warehouse. While we dispatch all items together under a single shipment, customs authorities can sometimes separate parcels during processing, which can unfortunately result in staggered deliveries. Once an order has left our warehouse, we have very limited control over how local customs handle clearance and final delivery timelines.

Regarding the charges: Switzerland applies import duties and taxes on orders above CHF 62. These currently include a customs clearance fee of CHF 11.50 + 3%, as well as Swiss VAT at 8.1%. These fees are set by Swiss customs, not by us, and are clearly outlined on our website prior to checkout so customers can make an informed decision before ordering.

For EU and US customers, we ship on a DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) basis, which means that all relevant import taxes and duties are included in the shipping charge.

We do not collect VAT, duties and/or taxes on orders to countries outside the EU and we cannot predict what your particular charges may be. If in any doubt please check with your local customs office for more information.

We completely understand that these additional costs and delays can be disappointing, and we’re sorry this impacted your experience. We value all feedback, as it helps future customers better understand international shipping and customs processes before placing an order.

We’re very sorry, though, to learn about the threads coming loose. That certainly isn’t typical of our quality standards, and from what you’ve described, it’s possible you may have received a faulty batch.

so our team can take a closer look? Once we’ve seen them, we’ll be able to advise properly and make this right for you.

Just to explain — with our Designer ranges, some loose threads on the inside of the socks can be expected due to the complexity of the knitted patterns. The different coloured yarns are woven across the interior to create the design, which can leave visible threads inside. However, these should not be appearing on the outside of the socks or pulling through excessively.

If that’s happening, we’d definitely want to investigate further.

Firstly, I’m very sorry for the delay you experienced — especially given that this was a Christmas order. We completely understand how important that delivery window was, and I’m truly sorry that we missed the mark on this occasion.

Towards the end of last year, we launched our new US fulfilment centre. While the goal is to streamline US orders and make shipping faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective for our customers long term, there were unfortunately some technical teething issues during the transition. These created a short fulfilment delay and backlog of orders, which was further impacted by the busy peak season.

While technical and carrier issues can occur in any logistics network, that doesn’t take away from the disappointment of receiving your order beyond the estimated delivery timeframe — particularly for a key gifting date. For that, we sincerely apologise.

We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. It’s important to us, and it helps ensure we continue improving both our operations and overall customer experience.
