used this detector on the beach and it found iron and steel. used it in a field and it was very disappointing. Again it found iron but nothing else. tested it by hovering over a copper coin, on the surface, and it didn't bleep until it was only 2 ins. over it, even though it was on the highest sensitivity setting. In fact, it was little more than useless.
