Repeat customer with Nick, can't recommend enough

Three times now Nick has saved us thousands of dollars and helped secure us an outstanding rate or helped us with a HELOC. He makes himself available at all hours, is incredibly responsive, and makes the entire process effortless. He is an absolute pleasure to do business with.

Smoothest Lending Process Ever!

My wife and I recently utilized Nick and his team for a cash out refinance. From the moment we were connected with Nick, he was able to provide us with some great "think outside of the box" solutions that we were able to utilize. Nick is also incredibly responsive to all questions and never left us hanging throughout the entire process. The underwriting process was incredibly smooth as well. Overall, we would absolutely recommend Nick for your all your home lending needs.

Never heard back

sounds great until you fill and application out, you speak with someone that says they will contact you back in 30 minutes with numbers but never hear anything. Sent text and called. Legally you have to supply certain docs with an application so I will be reporting you!

Great experience from start to closing!

1.5% fee at closing, shady brokers

They charge a 1.5% fee at closing. The rates are significantly higher than other HELOC providers. The broker was dishonest.

Very shady company

Very shady company. I applied for a HELOC and they tried to trick me and have me sign paperwork for a refi. Never once discussed this with me and when I questioned the rep he became defensive and hung up on me.

If I could give negative stars I would

If I could give negative stars I would. My clients were dragged along 1 month after the original closing and were told that underwriting denied the loan on the day of closing. Horrible communication from the lender.

Lower is great to work with.

Kilian, Damian, Brent and Dane all were awesome and got crap done. They made adjustments on the fly to fit our situation without any trouble at all. We appreciate the hard work they put in.

Do not trust LOWER.COM - SCAM

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Their representatives are deceitful. They lie to you constantly. THEY ARE A SCAM! I have written proof of their lies. They have no idea how to close a loan properly. They get paid when you complete an application so they have no incentive to close it. Their Loan officer Geza Rakoczi has zero clue as to how to manage a loan process. He lied to me for 3 months about closing a refinance and never did. They couldn't close a simple refi and certainly not a large one. Do not waste your time. After failing to close my refi I asked them 7 times to transfer my appraisal to a reputable lender so they filed a 2nd appraisal on my home with an appraiser they work with to scam customers. I now have no choice but to contact an attorney, the better business bureau as well as the CFPB to review their processes. The rates they advertise are all lies. A SCAM COMPANY. RUN AS FAR AS POSSIBLE, if you value your time and sanity.

Furthermore, I want to add that Lower.com scammed me into doing a 2nd appraisal on my home as part of the "verification of the first appraisal". They promised to close my loan in just “two more days”, Geza Rakoczi and his processor Kayla Gutierrez said. They lied. They knew I would go to another lender so they filed a bogus appraisal at a lower value. Then after telling me this verification of appraisal was at their cost they tried to charge me $2700 for it. Their hope was to keep me from refinancing with another company. This will be a HUD complaint as well.

Tornado recovery nightmare

While the process working with Lower and the servicing of the mortgage by Lower have been as desired, the way that Lower has impaired my ability to recover from recent tornado damage has caused a good bit of anxiety. While I understand the need to make sure that someone doesn't just walk away from an insurance claim, Lower needs to improve the Loss Draft department and their process. The agents need to be more understanding as they are the ones standing in my way of getting my life back to normal. While they held my State Farm insurance check for 10 days to "make sure it cleared", my bank made the check from Lower available the same day. I call BS on this 10 day wait. I don't think that State Farm checks take that long to clear. I used my own money to start my rebuild process as I am tired of waiting. I am now waiting to see if Lower will release enough funds to complete repairs. They are expecting my contractor to complete 95% of the repairs with 30% of the money and then wait for 1/2 a month to get the rest of the money.

InExperienced Lender And Agents

As an experienced investor, i expected lower.com to be good, but it was the complete opposite. They first gave me 3 agents who never replied, I have to keep following up with them to schedule a showing, just nonexistent… to the point I had to find another agent who actually knew what they were doing. Lastly, the lender…. Omg… first told me I was pre approved, then said I needed certain amount of funds to close, then told me after the amount all of a sudden changed (8K difference)… it got to the point where I had a property under contract.. wasted money on inspection, to then realize the lender I was working with had no idea what they were doing and made me lose the house…. Never in years have I worked with such people who don’t know what they’re doing…

Lower was great!

My fiancé and I are first time homebuyers, and Katie was beyond helpful from start to finish! She was always quick with a quote and more than happy to answer any and all questions we had (and trust me, there were quite a few!). Whether you're a first time homebuyer or are just looking for another property, I can't recommend Katie and Lower enough!

Lower.com: great option for first time homebuyers

Lower.com did a great job working through the Loan process. There were a few things that stood out:
1) My guy Geoff! He was incredibly knowledgeable and provided great customer service. I had a wide net and was even considering an investment property and he worked through everything with me. I had lots of questions, changes, and offers and he always ran my numbers. I also work a pretty non-traditional job and he was very flexible in helping me around my free time.
2) Lower.com has great communication and the online portal is very helpful. Every time another step was processed I was informed promptly and provided with my next steps. We closed quickly and efficiently.

My experience with lower was great. Their closing costs were very competitive (although I was considered a strong buyer). They also had no problem with a 30 day closing and even had everything completed a few days early. The rates might not be the absolute lowest, but they safely are average and worth it for the support and refinancing opportunity.
