What a wonderful experience

What a wonderful experience and service, nothing was to much trouble. Spa indulgent and treatments excellent. Facilities and the lovely touches , coffee and cakes as little treats in the lounge - amazing.

Great staff, will def return.

I had a lovely time at the low wood…

I had a lovely time at the low wood last night with my sister. Unfortunately the full body massage wasn’t as good as I’ve had elsewhere and I didn’t feel it was a full body massage at all! The spa was lovely! As was the food! Mario who works in the restaurant, such a lovely man! And funny to! We will definitely be back but I would do spa and stay and not bother with a treatment.

Great spa, excellent treatments

I had a spa day with massage plus LED treatment, plis a lunch. I wasn’t so keen on the food which was a bit tasteless, but the spa was fantastic. Lots of things to choose from both inside and outside. Great service with drinks and snacks available.Quality products used, well designed treatment room with ultra comfy couch, excellent therapist (Miori????, sorry I can’t remember how to spell her name), well organised and you weren’t made to feel like you were on a conveyer belt. Fabulous views and the fact that it’s on the main road really didn’t bother me, which I thought it would. Definitely return.

Impossible to contact

We were due to stay in this hotel from 1st March for 2 nights. I tried to book a spa package IN ADDITION to the hotel and the website wouldn't work. It has since been impossible to speak to someone about this. After almost a week of calling and email them to no answer or reply, I cancelled the entire stay.

Spa day package

Spa day package

What a delightful day, myself and 2 girlfriends celebrated a 40th birthday. Pure bliss, staff very helpful seeing to your every need. Fresh towels in abundance incredible relaxing facilities from infinity pool to eculyptus steam room. Very experienced spa therapist delivered the most relaxing facial, giving advice on on going skin care.

The two course lunch was non other than delicious.

We are 3 busy hair stylists and we will be sure to recommend low wood bay spa to our clients.

We will definitely be returning

Great location but needs to improve their staff training

Stayed at the Low Wood recently. Whilst overall my stay was good, they have a few issues which they need to address, mainly the lack of staff training. It is very evident that some of the staff have not had sufficient training, which can then spoil a guests stay.

The hotel is located almost on the shore of Lake Windermere and although this sounds idyllic, there is a busy main road between the hotel and the Lake, and from about 6am onwards there is constant traffic noise, which you can hear if you stay in one of the rooms with a lake view.

The spa, pool and gym facilities are good, although residents can only swim during certain hours. However, the outdoor Thermal Spa is charged extra and unless you pay, hotel guests cannot access this facility.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with modern en-suite.

It is not cheap to stay at this hotel and they need to iron out the problems, particularly the lack of staff training in order to justify their rates and give guests the experience they expect from an English Lakes Hotel.

my worst ever meal

Pre. booked a meal for 12.30. sat down 12.25. Eventually most of the meals came at 13.55. mine was last at 14.10. It was a small dried up piece of chicken, three tiny tips of carrot and some dried up vile brown sauce no cauliflower cheese no roast potatoes no parsnips when the waiter came and asked was everything ok i said no it was disgusting at which he just walked away. I dont want a refund and i dont want a voucher as i will never go back there, and as a local i will not be recommending the low wood

Beautiful place, lacks training

Place was amazing the views and facilities were all great but it lacked staff training. Like reception staff at the concierge need to give clear directions to to customer rooms or get them escorted as the pla e is very big compared to the pictures that you see online. The staff at the bar (not bartender) need to explain that they can't make the drinks and need to wait for their manager or actual bartender to come back and will serve the drinks. I was standing there trying to explain what drink I want and was just being told 'ok please wait for my manager...'. Also at the spa area would help if staff explained to customers if they've been before and know where the changing rooms are how to get to the swimming pool and other spa facilities and most importantly if they need a locker wrist band as I had come back out to ask how to lock the locker in the changing rooms. Apart from the extra training and better customer service needed hotel is beautiful.

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa is a huge…

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa is a huge disappointment. I was extremely disappointed to find out that outdoor spa access was an additional cost, despite the fact that it was advertised as a "spa resort." The premium rooms were also terrible, with outdated decor and uncomfortable beds. I would not recommend this resort to anyone and will not be returning in the future. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

We would not come back again

Things were off the truck from the time we arrived, the service level is not as good as it should be as per the reviews!
1. Our room is court yard, but the room window is facing a wall, it feels like you stay in a basement which makes people very uncomfortable, so I called the reception asking for a room change. I was told to be called back in 15 min, but only until the third time I called again after two time of 15 min waiting, I was phoned back in 10 min telling me that there is a court yard room available upstairs and another two lake view rooms available for upgrade. But when we asked for an upgrade upon check in 45 min ago, we were told there was no room available for 2 nights.
2. Our room is a twin room, apart from towels, only one pack of vanity kit for one person, there was no other basic complimentary things like bottle waters nor tissues. For a room costed you £250per night, it is abnormal. Though tissues were provided upon request.
3. At the breakfast, the tea pots were served to the wrong people.
4. After a long day trip next day, we came back at 8pm, but our room keys were cancelled, we had to go to reception to activate them.
5. The worst part is we got in the room with the activated keys, the room was not cleaned and towels not changed. After a long day sightseeing in the cold weather, all you want is a hot shower, but the bathroom was not cleaned and towel not changed. We called the manager in charge to come up to the room, the problem sorted in 10 minutes.

These things seem not big, but all added in a short two days stay, it really made the stay not pleasant at all. We can not believe all these happened by coincidence, two rooms available after 45 mins when you checkin at 5pm, your room keys are not working on the next day when you stay for two nights and only your room is not tidied.
To be fair, majority of the staff are good, but being treated like this in a 4-5 star resort, it is very disappointing and unacceptable.
