Stay ... away

Stay ... away

Well I had to choose a title so - no pun intended. Also let me make one thing clear: I did not study there and while this is a specific experience (High Holborn residence), the whole LSE stands and falls for its weakest link or their weakest "service" (I really dread calling it that).

I've been going for many years and stayed at Holborn, while the students were away ... rooms are available to rent. Which is quite the cheap opportunity to find accomodation in (central) London. There are different rooms and different possibilities as I understand (with toilets/showers at the same floor instead of in the room one stays in being the cheapest option) ... read the fine print I reckon.

Not top notch or close - but you get what you pay for - so I got no quarrel with any of that stuff. Actually the breakfast was always one of the best things of the whole stay - that alone I reckon is at least one star ... I also never felt any issues with those working there (again High Holborn).

Now why am I deeply disappointed? Well after over a decade of me being there at the end of August - one slip up on my part (booked the wrong weekend by accident through expedia) and everything is blown to ... well you fill the space.

Now one can do a mistake and one can own up to it. Which I was willing to do - I also was expecting (customer service, returning customer even more so) that one would offer some even the smallest mercy .. in that case money wise of course. And not even as in money back - but as part of a voucher or discount or something of that kind.

Nothing - no even worse snickering (I still have the emails) and belittling of ones misfortune is what I got ... a travesty to say the least and an emotional devastating experience to boost it ...

I would go around and shout "Shame! Shame! Shame!" ... but I doubt they would care ... because me not withstanding (or my money, last time I booked with them of course) others will still go there ... because it is cheap ... unfortunately not just money wise, but ethical and morally too
