Shoddy and disrespectful treatment I just got from the technical helpline. I rang for advice about my Masterplug ev 13a charger socket melting the timer it was plugged into and I got the reply that I “shouldn’t need to be told” that it can not be run through a timer plug. The inference being that it’s common sense. It is not! And that operator should have apologised when I pointed this out. He did not!

I finally received a reply advising a replacement would be sent out in due course, as there was currently no stock, but gold modern lamps are still advertising see as being for sale with quick delivery date. Service is appalling. Avoid this company; they are not trustworthy

I have now bought two of the rechargeable solar outside lights from B&Q. OK for about two weeks and then stop working. Absolute rubbish!! Go elsewhere

I ordered and paid for my lamp on October 19th and have never received it. The company sent a tracker for the order and it is supposedly sitting at a hardware in my city of Ottawa, On, Canada since mid November.
I get the same answer that thé delivery issue is being investigated but that is also a falsehood.
I will report to Better Business Bureau.
Please save yourself hardship and money and Do Not Order from this Company.
This expensive lamp is absolute…
This expensive lamp is absolute rubbish. The shade was damaged and has dents all over it. Connection is so fragile that if you just move the lamp a little bit it doesn’t work. The charger didn’t work and I had to use another one. The packaging was terrible and it looked like it had been opened and then jammed back in which is probably why it is so damaged. Have contacted them via email and sent photos but have had no response. I wish I had read all these reviews before ordering. Lesson learnt!!

Faulty lamp switches
Very disappointed in my Crystal Lantern Table lamp which is difficult to switch off and then randomly switches itself on, resulting in loss of charge. I had ordered previously and received a good product, so it's a shame to receive a lamp that simply does not work properly. You need to test your products before sending out - I can't return it as I don't have the packaging any more
BG "Smart" wifi GU10 bulbs…don't work
Purchase BG "Smart" wifi GU10 bulbs which cannot be connected to wifi because of a fault with the BG app. App even though the wifi switched to 2.4gHz only but the app insists that I am connected to 5gHz hence won't connect. Extremely slow response and then the same advice as the packaging and when explained the problem vis a vis the App issue the response was that often the app did this and delete and re-install but the problem persists.

These lights are fragile...
Bought three Luceco Rechargeable Multifunctional Cage Work Lights for daughters, for camping in the garden, light if there's a power cut etc.
They are all failing / falling apart as they are held together by 4 screws and plastic lugs but the plastic is very weak and cracks. The LED lighting up / cage part detaches from the handle, only joined together by the wires. The weight is towards the torch end so puts strain on the plastic which it isn't strong enough to hold it.
For a product described as robust, professional and rugged, it's a disappointing design flaw IMO.
Two stars as the lights were very good before they began to break.
Out of warranty now.

Luceco is not the problem. The company I bought from is “Luceko” and it is a complete rip off. I ordered what looked like a large table lamp/usb powered, for $109. It arrived 4 weeks later, and it is complete junk. It’s not worth $25. Small, poorly made, just junk. Beware!

Just stay away from this seller. Purchased a Smoke Alarm from them via B&Q website, and the internal battery died after 5 months of use. I contacted the seller Luceco and they said that the Smoke Alarm itself have a 10 year warranty but the battery is not covered under this warranty. So they sold me a product with a almost dead 9V battery, the battery should have 5-10 years of lifespan, depending of their quality. Better go in a known shop and buy something yourself than online from this seller.
*Update 11.03.2025:
After contacting B&Q about this case, Luceco company send me a new Smoke Alarm replacement, and the battery included have exp date 2027.

Terrible Support and Accountability from Luceco and SyncEV
Luceco, the parent company of SyncEV, has shown an unacceptable lack of responsibility for their chargers and partnerships. My SyncEV charger has been rendered nearly useless due to issues with the EV Energy app, which they rely on for smart charging. The problem stems from broken functionality with the Octopus Agile tariff, where the charger starts at fixed times regardless of price settings, leading to unnecessarily high electricity costs.
When I reached out to SyncEV, they claimed the issue wasn’t theirs to fix because the app is managed by EV Energy. However, neither company has provided a solution or any timeline for resolving this problem. Luceco, as the parent company, should be taking ownership of these failures instead of leaving customers stuck with faulty equipment.
Support has been dismissive and unhelpful. They closed my case without resolving anything and seem to expect customers to wait indefinitely for EV Energy to fix the issue. There’s no plan, no backup solution, and no transparency about what they’re doing to ensure this doesn’t happen to others.
It’s also concerning that Luceco doesn’t seem to value its customers enough to ensure its products work as advertised. Their partnership with EV Energy appears broken, and customers are left paying the price for their mismanagement.
I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a SyncEV charger or any product under Luceco’s umbrella to think twice. The lack of reliability in their products, coupled with terrible customer service and no accountability, makes them a poor choice. Until they take these issues seriously and prioritize their customers, I cannot recommend this company at all.

1.5W Wall Light with PIR Sensor. As easy to throw away as it is to fit. Wastes its own energy by staying on more or less permanently at night, albeit at a lower setting. In autumn and winter it doesn't get enough sunlight and so fails altogether when most you need it. Shall revert to wiring one to the mains, which worked whether the sun had shone or not. Fun for all the family for a fortnight.

If I could give this “security light” a zero star rating I would do so, yes it’s bright and the time it stays on is adequate however the claim of 10 Metre PIR motion sensor is a joke, 10 feet more like, totally useless, what a waste of over £30
