Eight days without baggage
Eight days without baggage – only €100 offered
My checked baggage was delayed for eight full days after my Lufthansa flight to Vancouver in September 2025.
Although Lufthansa fully reimbursed my emergency expenses, the disruption was severe: I had to cancel a planned weekend trip, attend classes wearing unsuitable clothes, and repeatedly contact customer service without receiving any clear updates.
Despite admitting in writing that I suffered a “significant inconvenience”, Lufthansa’s final offer was only €100 as a goodwill gesture.
Their process was also confusing, including a message stating that replying to their email could deactivate the compensation link.
I have now submitted the entire case to the official German arbitration body (SÖP – Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr e.V.) for independent review.
All correspondence and evidence are available.
I’m sharing this to inform other travelers how Lufthansa actually handles long baggage delay cases.
