Don’t buy! The good reviews must be paid. The most crap, dirt infested product out there.

My experience with the company was mostly last fall. Probably a dozen or more orders. They're overall great with both the seeds and pods except for maybe one bag of seeds. Regarding pods, they ship promptly, some of the pods are huge and make for great decorative items. The pods also contain viable seeds which is a great plus for gardeners!

So I decided to review Generalseed and Luma at the same time a few weeks ago. Here's a Honest review:

When general arrived, it was in a zip lock bag. When Luma arrived, it came in mylar magnum gold packaging designed product which shows you they care right there even before opening them.

General Seed Review: I got a 1LB bag of UK Blue. Smelled good but not a lot of plant material. Get's the job done.

Luma Review: I bought the AU Seeds and they were kind enough to throw in a sample of the Dutch to try.

Since its a huge gold magnum colored bag I cracked it open and BOOM the smell hits you. It's fresh, minimal processed, earthy smell with that material you need to wash out to bake.

Luma Dutch Review: Now this one is tricky. I prepared it exactly like I did with General Seeds which was a mistake.

The color is MUCH darker brown during washing. I washed it 3 times and I'll be honest, I threw up my first time I ate the amount as General Seeds and I got sick that was my mistake.

I ate half and WOW!

So this brings me to one of three conclusions: Either everyone hating on Luma are ignorant, a competitor or wants to pay more for less.

Bottom line, You have to wash the Luma Dutch seeds really good and start at half your general seed recipe.

Luma, You got my biz for life thank you. I rarely write reviews but I had to because this is a great product.

Awful customer service. I wrote to them concerned about the smell of the seeds, they just smelled off to me and clumpy. Seemingly moldy but I wasn’t sure so I messaged them seeking clarification and help (as a business who handles seeds every day they would certainly know if something I was describing wasn’t right) and this was their response:

the same seeds you get, every other customer gets. So it doesn't make sense that yours is the only 'rancid' bag of seeds. You're literally the only person who's said that. If I get more customers coming forward with this issue, then I'll think something is wrong with our seeds. Maybe you just don't like the taste. we can probably send you an extra sample bag on your next order

Acted like I was acting a fool demanding a refund, like buddy… I wanted to know if these were safe to use and like maybe throw a 10% off my next order for the inconvenience, stuff happens I get that! But like that response was absolute garbage customer service. Made me lose massive respect for a company I had really liked working with the past months!

3rd time buying from company. Anyone complaining about Luna seeds doesn’t know what they are talking about. There Dutch seeds are smack. Out of my 4lb bag inn no probably had like 2 ounces or more of crushed pod and stem in with the seeds. I would say about 30 pods worth. Best price and product around. Zero complaints about Luma

Been ordering in fall of 2023, their Dutch seeds are potent and make great recipes, but with lots of plant material mixed in with seeds and some unpleasant side flavors in large amounts. I've been ordering for about 2 months, and shipping has nearly always been very quick. Their Australian and generic seeds are not great, overly washed with a peppery aroma. Their decorative pods have been good too.

The seeds are top notch quality and the bouquets are so beutiful and are made with quality. I keep returning to them because their products are truelly something to experience. Also compared to many competitors the price is unbeatable. I'm not sure why the rating is 3 or 4 stars when they should be 5. Their costumer service is good as well THEY RESPOND to questions!

First of all, the customer service was excellent because they emailed me every time there was a movement of my package during tracking. My order only took three days. The pods were nice and big and fresh, I got the Danish variety of seeds and they are very fresh smelling with no chemicals and even have some plant manner in them which enhances their flavor. Can't wait to try them in the kitchen for my baking needs!

Left a bad review before but pulled it after they issued a refund but I can't with good conscious let it go. These seeds aren't fit for human consumption. Milky thick residue that makes you sick. One reviewer said the high alkaloid made his body inflame. Well it made my guts inflame and made me sick. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was something else, but I still have 7 pound I was afraid to use but I tried a little yesterday and sick again!!!!!

Thinking about ordering from Luma Seeds? Think again! You’re better off ordering from somewhere else. They’re terrible and unreliable about getting your order out. It takes them several days after accepting your order to even get your order to the post office. This has happened to my previous orders despite paying a hefty price for priority shipping. Slow and terrible customer service… what a disappointment.

Lumaseeds are above the rest. They have exceptional product,price and ship time. I've tried other suppliers and none have compared. I can always rely on them to ship on time and have only ever received quality product. They really care and have sent Xtra pods which I really appreciate. Because their customer service is so amazing and I can contact them directly, they are and will be my only go to for all my baking and decorating needs. I have ordered from them many times,and am always more than satisfied.

Luma Seeds has great seeds and pods. Their customer service is great and all of my deliveries have been on time. I have ordered from them at least 20 times and every package has been what I expected or better, like today's package, where extra pods were added to it. I really appreciate the extras and will continue to do business with them. Luma Seeds is hands down the best online seller I've found.

If you're looking for a quality one stop shop that's not gonna break your wallet then this is the place to go. Owner of the site is very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions, I had and for the prices he sells for, I can't figure out how he stays in business, other decor and snack sites sell inferior quality ingredients for higher prices. Keep up the good work Luma Seeds, count me in as a lifer.

Luma seeds is a great place to buy poppy seeds and other seeds and dried artistic decor. I have had the best service from them and nothing but positive marks on my end. I have had situations where the USPS has delayed shipment and Luma has gone the extra mile to make things right (for an issue that isn’t even their fault). Will order and ONLY order from them and I have been ordering seeds and decor for over 6 years. Five stars. Nothing less.

Spice smelling seeds. Not the best at all

Alright here’s the short of it: there’s enough plant matter in my 1lb pack to make up for the lack of latex on the seeds. I don’t want to make the spot hot, but everyone has been giving this company negative reviews, and I just want to set the record straight. Yes, it’s true: The wash will be milky looking. truthfully, I used to make a lot of tea out of the UK blue seeds Pre-2018 from Sincerely Nuts and I have NEVER seen this much plant matter before! What I’m honestly thinking is Luma seeds is purposefully, grinding up a bunch of the stems and pods, and mixing them in the batch of seeds, because legally in the US in order to import seeds, they have to be completely washed after 2018’s law went into effect. They also sell pods too, so I’m assuming this guy has access to a lot of them, possibly grows them? All of that milky looking water is not from the seeds but it’s actually from all of the plant material. Here’s the kicker guys. before with SN I had to take at least a whole pound of seeds to feel great. I’ve honestly used less than half of this 1lb bag and I’m feeling great. Mind you I have absolutely NO tolerance whatsoever. If I were you guys, I would definitely buy a pack for yourself, especially right now during harvest season, and try it out however, if you’re too worried, they actually sell whole pods you can buy. I’ll be giving the pods a review when I get them tomorrow.
UPDATE: the Giganteum pods were extremely huge. I ground them up in a blender then added water at 190 degrees F (no higher) and blended some more. I poured the pulpy juice into an old t shirt and strained, then I blended again with a bit more water to rinse all the goodies out. I made sure I gave everythin a good rinse and squeeze before I was thru. 1 bouquet should get you good about 5x or more if you wait and let your tolerance go down. The tea actually tasted good! If you enjoy strong herbal tea it kinda tasted like a strong oolong tea. Very pleasant and enjoyable if you can turn off that part of your brain that automatically decides something is worth gagging over because it’s “different”. Now I see why poppy teas are sold (deopiatized) in some stores, it’s flavorful!

This is THE best company out there. These other reviewers are ignorant noobs. This is what’s up, I’ve been ordering seeds for 10 years +, tried over 20 different brands, and Luma is bar none the absolute best service wise, cost wise, and QUALITY wise. I put quality in caps because it’s that poppin. They go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met and respond 20x quicker than other companies. They are professional and the quality is top notch and always consistent. The first time I got my order I was seriously stunned by the genuine amazingness of the product. You can tell just by looking at these seeds they are built different. I will personally never buy from another company again and hope that Luma is around for many, many years to come.

Believe the one-star reviews, save yourself money and grief. I just received, tried, and tossed a first order. The product had a large amount of plant matter which was not from any papaver. A heavy sudsy residue, milky apperance, and very bitter taste (which was wrong) rounded out the experience. stay away, stay far away

Absolute garbage. False advertising. Seeds are junk.
