Had an amazing time
Had an amazing time at the light festival at Ashton Court! The displays were absolutely stunning and created such a magical atmosphere. Everything was well organised, and it was a great experience for all ages. Definitely one of the best Winter events I’ve been to—highly recommend going if you get the chance!
We enjoyed our visit.
We enjoyed our visit but I did fall over at the end. The rain had started which made the ground very slippery. I did note that most the light wires were covered by hard plastic. Like speed humps. The one I fell on was only covered with black plastic. It had got lifted with the weather & other event users.
A very enchanting and lovely light experience
A very enchanting and lovely light trail with lots thought and imagination given to enhancing the customer experience. Very friendly and helpful staff members too.
Great value for money and for all age groups, obviously a lot of hard work and preparation put in to make it special.
So much fun
So much fun! Beautiful lights throughout the gardens with lots of interactive activities throughout the trail. Really enjoyed it and look forward to revisiting.
Uplifting and entertaining
It was a lovely light trail, great for any age with pathways made easy access for all abilities. Lots of interactive things to entertain along the route. Had fun playing with the flood lights and watching the hall change colour against a black sky. The lake trees were outstanding with dancing lights looking like snowflakes falling to serene music. The food vendors at the end of the walk were both welcome and varied. Prices were high but good quality hot food so worth it. Great night out for very excitable pensioners and much calmer children!
Luminate Ashton Court
We took our very grandchildren (1 yr x 2 and 9m x1) nad they had a wonderful time seeing all the lights. They were mesmerised.
Looking forward to another display next year.
post Christmas outing
Went to Coombe Abbey after Christmas as a group of 4 adults, varying ages. We all enjoyed it, but we did think there was a lot of walking in the dark between the displays (which were very good). We liked the interactive stations and thought they were particularly good idea for younger ones. There were 2 stops, one for loos and hot food and the other for toasted marshmallows. We didn't buy anything, having already had our meals and taken our own choice of drinks and mince pies. Staff at all times really helpful, in the carpark, taking pics of us, and especially not hurrying us out as we had 2 older people who struggled with the distance to walk. I think we would go again but start earlier. NB even disabled have to pay for parking.
Sandringham
We took our teens and their grandparents to the Sandrimgham display in November 2025. Beautiful display that made us pause and stare so many times. Just the right length walk for us too. It was quieter, being November, so we could take our time and there were no queues for food/drink and rides.
Christmassy feels
Always feels like a lovely way to start feeling festive. Love the interactive elements.
Great experience
Great experience, lots of sights, sounds and interactive activities. It was really cold the evening we went so we we were glad of the hot food and beverage stands, I think the cold added to the experience! The grandchildren had a lovely evening so worth the expense.

First time we have booked luminate and went on 21st December @ sandringham! It was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere, the set up, the music and lights were amazing. Well worth the trip and the money! There were stewards dotted about everywhere throughout the walk, a handy half way s’mores and drinks stop and one of the most fantastic light shows I’ve ever seen afterwards! My 13 and 7 yr old loved it too! We will definitely come back again- I believe the way I described it to friends was ‘if you are like me and love a pretty sky and lovely colours this is your kind of thing’ because it was just beautiful 😍

Visited Sandringham for 3rd year in a row. Parking and entry very well organised even better than last year. Beginning of trail I felt was a little disappointing but it did improve, quite a large section given over to disco balls which was a bit underwhelming. Laser show very good, toasted marshmallow section enjoyed by all. End was spoilt a bit as food stations under prepared -we kept being told to go back in 15 mins for hot chocolates as water not heated this happened 3 times so gave up in end. Grandchildren were disappointed the big horse/peacock carousel was missing this year, as was I as that is something we can all go on together, overall though an enjoyable start to Christmas celebrations

First time coming to Margam
First time coming to Margam. Loved it especially the audio visual near the end of the trail. We watched it 3 times! Signposts getting to venue once off the motorway would be useful
Amazing experience
Amazing experience, would 1 million percent be going again!
Embrace The Warm And Magical Light In The Cold Winter
As dusk settled and the lights began to twinkle, the sky transformed into a deep velvet blue.
The lights of Sandringham gradually illuminated, they became stars on the ground.
Warm clothes were put on and we strode with the children.
In the chilly forest, we wandered amidst the warm, magical light.
The children play and frolic, enough to heal the winter's cold.
Roasted a marshmallow and watched with affection as he wrote down his wildest wishes. The world of children is full of endless exploration.
This winter, we embraced the light and shadow.
Everything just made sense
Everything just made sense. The lights were up from the entrance to the end. Beautifully lit lights and it felt so real.. I really enjoyed my walk and you should see my videos on my TikTok page.
