Shepherds’ Hut was clean and well equipped (although it could have done with a can of fly spray, or a fly swat, as the surrounding fields with cows and sheep generate a significant amount of cow and sheep sh*t, with commensurate flys - yes, I know it’s summer in the countryside!). Host was very responsive about replacing the toaster when the initial one didn’t work. Whilst very cosy, the double bed was very small. The surrounding countryside is stunning, unfortunately the view from the hut was quite restricted as it’s squeezed in next to a very large barn. The Bulls Head in Foolow is excellent and less than 10 minutes walk.

The shepherds hut was very cosy and comfortable. The bed was comfy and the shower was warm and effective. The kitchen had plenty of cutlery and enough pots and pans. The hob and microwave made evening meals easy. The best part was the wood fired hot tub which we used a lot. The owner really did think of everything!
