I booked a collection of my Macbook about 2 weeks before it was meant to happen. They make you book a whole day window from 9-5. On the day I was supposed to receive a text from the courier with them picking it up in a shorter window. I didn't so I called them. Spent ages on the phone with them, to them I didn't exist. So I called the (non toll free) number for Mac 4 Cash. The guy said it had been scheduled, he would call the courier. Another guy called me back and said they had made a mistake and it would be the next day and that I'd now have to miss two full days of work and that they wouldn't even give me a shorter window for the next day. He also told me that since my laptop has a US keyboard and not UK keyboard the price would be decreased by at least a third. This was not clear on the website. Two full days of my time is not worth a tiny amount. I have now wasted a full day for nothing. Very disappointing.
Collection was booked and arranged, twice. Both time, no shows.
If the company can't even arrange a pick up, how can I ensure they will actually pay monies due?! This is pretty basic stuff.
Disappointed. Will go elsewhere!
I thought these guys were great. I got my quote and accepted. They sent someone around to pick up my computer. As I waved goodbye I suddenly got really nervous... but it was all completely okay. I sent it off on Monday and was paid by Friday!
The only difficulty for me was that I did get any of their emails for some reason, but fortunately I had written down the reference number from the website originally (make sure you do this). So I just called them to ask if they received my computer and when I would be paid, and they were really nice and helpful. They even moved my pick up date a day earlier for me by phone.
Definitely recommend. It was just so easy.
Mixed bag so far from Mac4Cash - and I'm noty even finished with my order...
- Initial sign up: Easy.
- Customer service for pre-quote query: Fast. I wanted to know if the inclusion of the keyboard would affect the quote and if yes, how much. The response was near instant.
- Quote system on the site: Simple and offered more money than competitors
- Mac collection: Free, and convinient by courier collection.
- Post review quote: Here is where the trouble started. My machine was downgraded from 'A' to 'B'. I don't mind this. The reason given was "burn marks on the screen". I asked for pictures of said burn marks - as I was certain the screen was flawless. I've heard nothing since, that was on the 8th April. I chased on 15th and again on 24th. But I have yet to hear anything back and these guys have my Mac.
Hoping this gets resolved. As mention I don't mind the downgrade, but just want to know exactly what marks they are talking about.
Will update this review when I hear something back.
Update:
I did hear back, and Mac4Cash provided proof. I was happy with their explanation, and payment was extremely prompt.
With digital cameras so readily available these days, a simple picture alongside any downgrade would be a wise move for them going forward. Would appease the customer knowing the downgrade was valid.
I would happily use these guys again.
