DO NOT TAKE YOUR GEAR ANYWHERE NEAR THESE PEOPLE!!!

No expertise whatsoever - the worst bunch of chancers I've ever encountered - where's the '0' star rating when you need it?

Took my full, 2TB Apple Timecapsule in for simple data retrieval & was told I'd be contacted in "a couple of days". Nothing. So I called after 5 days & was told it was "still being worked on". 5 days after that I was phoned by the "technician" as he was finally bothering to look at it. He told me he couldn't do anything, but if I'd "like to bring it back in a couple of months, he was about to go on a course that would give him the knowledge". Seriously?!!!

It gets worse. A lot worse.

When I went to pick it up, not only did it look like it had been partially reassembled by a one-armed blind man, it was then dropped from shoulder height right in front of me!!!... If it's not now completely destroyed - beyond even the help of someone who's actually competent - I'll be amazed. If that's how carefully your job is being handled when client-facing, just imagine how it's handled in the workshop!

Beyond belief, & way, way beyond awful.

Really disappointing

Really disappointing. A short-circuit in my study killed my Lenovo ThinkCentre tower. I had tested the UPS and knew it was gone, but wasn't confident how to replace it. I took it to Macguys two weeks ago; happened to be nearest to where I live. I was strongly urged to buy the refurbished Lenovo tower they happened to have in the window, despite the fact tht it would have meant dropping from i7 to i3 processor. I waited five days, no news. Phoned and was told the UPS had been replaced but, it had been discovered, the motherboard was also broke. So why wasn't the motherboard tested at the outset? More waiting. Phoned again: the wrong replacement motherboard had been ordered, I would need to wait for the right one. How long would I have to wait? ''We can't say.'' - ?! Patience ran out, collected it and was told ''We did our best'', which I take to be a confession of under-competence. Have taken it elsewhere. £60 cost and 2 weeks delay in repair.

Saved my PhD and tens tears/years of…

Saved my PhD and tens tears/years of life when my desktop just died and would not reboot. I got the data retrieved and am glad as the Mac works like new, really fast, no wheel of death any more and all updated. Going to get my laptop looked at BEFORE it dies...

Excellent service

Excellent service. Took my iMac 27" in to be repaired, it needed a new graphics card. It was diagnosed and fixed within the same day. Polite and friendly service at a reasonable price. Would recommend.

Do not use this company

Would not use them again. They advised me that I didn’t need to fill out the forms online as my partner could do it when he came in. All I wanted them to do was retrieve my lost notes which was what I put in the email. Instead they put in a new memory, deleted everything and did nothing at all about the notes. They were wholly unsympathetic to my distress, patronising and have invoiced me for £220 but have actually charged me £250. So they have overcharged me for the privilege of erasing my laptop and not restoring my notes. They did nothing to my phone but have still charged me. Steer well clear. They are rude and unpleasant. Another sympathetic customer told them that there was software that could restore my data but they said that would cost me another £200. They have the brass neck to ask me for a review offering me a discount if I use them again. The invoice is wrong and £30 more has been debited from my card to prove it. Use them again? Hell will freeze over😡

Good to have found this great resource…

Good to have found this great resource - sorted the home wi-fi in an efficient (so reasonably priced) 2 hour home visit, instant battery change for the Mac Air, upgraded memory for the iMac....all with very friendly and quick service!
As a bonus, mended and serviced my aging analogue JVC amplifier!
Old tech and new - Thanks for all the help!

I'm very happy with Macguys

I'm very happy with Macguys. They fixed and serviced my iMac which needed a new video card in an emergency.
Friendly, very efficient and competitively priced, they had my Mac up and running a day before the scheduled pick up time.
I would definitely recommend!

I left my macbook air with macguys on…

I left my macbook air with macguys on 31st December, as I was getting black screen. I was told there was 99% it would be fixed. I rang weekly to get updates and it was proving more difficult that first thought, but each time I was met with 'just let me have one more try'. I was losing hope and thought it would not be fixed. However, it was and now works perfectly! Great service and unrivalled perseverance to get the job the done.

Superb customer service

Superb customer service. They've helped keep my elderly MacBook Pro on the road a couple of times: a while ago replacing a small rubber part on the base and today refitting the memory card so I can actually turn it on again. Both times free of charge. Why would you bother with the Apple stores?

Good service

The engineer was friendly, helpful and accommodating. He identified the problem with my Macbook Pro in a few minutes and had it fixed and ready for pick up within a couple hours to save me time. So far, have had no problems with it.

A huge thank you!
So glad and relieved that I found out about you from a recommendation.
I arrived with a MacBook that wouldn't turn on at all and was super concerned that I might have lost a couple of years' worth of photos and files as I (stupidly) hadn't backed up for a long time. You recovered all the data from the hard drive and now the computer works fine.

My 2009 Mac computer would power up but…

My 2009 Mac computer would power up but not fully boot up. Tried all the fixes I could find on google (safe start, reloading from Time Machine, etc), but failed. Took the machine into MacGuys, and they diagnosed and resolved the issue. Excellent service at what I considered a not unreasonable cost. Very relieved to get my Mac back in working order.

Excellent, fast service

I went to Macguys as I needed to retrieve key information relating to my Masters Dissertation that had been lost from an external hard drive. They were extremely helpful, fast and reliable. I would definitely recommend them!

Excellent servise.Very happy with the results at the end. Also are very fast and communicative. I had a liquid damage on my Mac book air and honestly I was desperate,I thought my computer will never work again.
I was impressed how fast are they my Mac was ready on the next day and now is working perfect.
