Dental accidents not covered by insurance
Did a few jobs that were ok. However I quit after an out of control dog headbutted my mouth and chipped my tooth. I didnt want to work for this one client as I had a bad feeling. I said no a few times but she kept insisting. Unfortunely I was a push over and didnt report straight away. I only made $50 for day and cost me $400 to fix. I told the client and accused me of lying. The company didn't reumburse me either as insurance only covers client. Now I hate my smile as teeth are uneven and will cost more to fix. Trust your gut and don't let anyone pressure you. Not worth it. Too risky working with animals. Proceed with caution.

Absolute scam - avoid
Absolute scam
This company has hidden that if you cancel a booking - not matter how far in advance, they keep the booking fee. For us it was $75, despite the sitter have a flexible 100% refund option AND being cancelled more than 2 months in advance. I won't be using these people again. Absolute scum

I've tried 2 sitters on Mad paws so far and holy heck they were bad. Real bad. It seems to me this site has no integrity and lets any loser who puts their hand up advertise. One per sitter lived in absolute squalor and their house smelled and looked like not a single dog or cat shit had been cleaned up in 10 years. Another was a moron so stupid they could not follow simple instructions and actually fed my dog her dog bones on my frikken bed! Leaving a big blood stain all over my good quilt. Mad Paws tried to take my review down. They flagged it for defamation, hate speech or some other rubbish. They lost. Here my review stands.

Great experience with Mad Paws
Mad Paws was introduced to me by a friend, and I’m very glad I tried it. I found Mad Paws to be a professional and reliable company. My experience using the platform has been easy and user‑friendly, and the booking process is simple to follow.
I was looking for a good dog walker because I had an accident and had difficulty walking. Through Mad Paws, I found a trustworthy and dependable carer for my two big dogs, which gave me peace of mind and allowed me to relax knowing they were in good hands.
Risk your pet's life with a sitter from madpaws…
I feel like madpaws has gone downhill or we've just been unlucky with the last 2 sitters. Our first 2 sitters were amazing, sending regular updates and pics of our cats and leaving the house as they found it (clean and tidy) but the last sitter we had (Chloe) was horrendous! She left the house filthy, sticky stuff all over kitchen benches and couch, opened tins of food with mould in them on the benches, lolly wrappers everywhere, hair all over the bathroom, bits of skin on the bedside tables!! It took us over 2 hours to clean the house when we got home when we'd left it spotless for her, just what you want after a holiday. But more importantly, she never topped up the water for the cats and it was over 40c a couple of days and it was empty when we got home and she didn't change the litter tray. It was very lucky we got home when we did or our cats would likely be dead with no water. And madpaws listened to Chloe's lies and only refunded 1/5 of the money. They did not seem to understand the seriousness of the situation. And I was not allowed to leave her a review. So don't believe that all the sitters only have positive reviews because negative reviews are not allowed. I'm sure a lot of the sitters are good but don't trust a girl called Chloe from Ivanhoe whatever you do!

We had to cancel last minute…
We had to cancel last minute unexpectedly due to a family friend being very ill. It was within the time frame where I would have only got 50% back.
Due to my reason, Mad Paws reached out to my sitter & asked if they would be willing to provide full refund due to circumstances. Mad Paws did not have to do this. I was so appreciative of their customer service & understanding due to my situation.

Kyley and her children were very keen to meet our fur baby, he was so excited when he met them. I feel at ease knowing that they are a lovely family and our fur baby will enjoy his stay with them. It has been such an easy process. Thankyou
Disappointing as a pet sitter and client
As a pet sitter - my profile was removed from search results because a - I took a break from pet-sitting, and b - because of a few potential clients who told me that a friend/relative/neighbour would look after their dog instead. I've been trying to get visible again, but they won't tell me how many bookings I need to complete to do this, which is damn difficult when you don't show up in search results. It's appalling.
As a potential client myself looking for a pet sitter - I found most didn't even bother to reply to my request.
The website is also difficult to navigate as both a sitter and a client - it's hard to find bookings and people you've contacted.
For this (poor) service, Mad Paws charges both the sitter (about 20%) and the client.
