Used all the good collabs years ago and all they have to do is rerun them, but no.

After learning how to play the single player variant of mahjong, I was searching for a place to learn how to play the traditional competitive style. Mahjong Soul made it super easy to learn the rules and placed me in games against similarly skilled opponents.

While the gacha monetization style won't click with everyone, it's hard to argue there's a better place online to learn the game for those who are interested. There's even ways to freely earn the consumable items that others pay for, which is a nice perk for those with spare time.

You will probably adore the core of Mahjong Soul if you enjoy playing Riichi Mahjong and are a fan of Japanese anime. You will also gain a lot from Mahjong Soul if you want to learn Riichi Mahjong in a fun way with a great tutorial and user interface for the game. You can play with others or AI, and it is also free.

The only drawback I can think of is that you can't really get more characters without spending money or a lot of time on certain events. Only three new characters have been added to my collection despite spending over $100 on the game's gacha system. Additionally, I had to pay an additional $14 or so for each character's unique attire. This is one of the few things I would suggest changing right away: Give free-to-play players more chances to use gacha to get new characters without spending money.
