Flowers are nothing like on the website

My experience with Maissan Flower is the worst I have ever experienced with a flower shop. The entire experience was fraught with problems.

First problem...
I placed an order for flowers to come in the morning the next day. No flowers came, and I received no communication from them. So I contacted the shop by phone via the number on their website, and was told it isn't their problem, and to call another number (same company, different branch). The lady I eventually spoke to was rude and unhelpful. She kept repeating that she 1) is on her own in the shop, 2) has 24 deliveries, and 3) will look at the computer at 6pm if I send an email. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this given that I expected the flowers to be delivered that morning for a special occasion, but she became irate and rude as if it was my fault. She then threatened to hang up which she did after I continued to express my frustration with her service, consideration, and attitude. I tried to call back, but she ignored my calls.

I then called the original number again, and spoke to someone else who promised to handle the matter. I was later called by her colleague Vincent who said that they'd run out of stock due to Mother's Day the day before, but failed to inform me. Because of my complaint, he promised to get some stock, and deliver the flowers later that day.

Second problem...
Some time later, a lady delivered the flowers, but they were nothing like what I ordered. My wife received only 12 flowers, while I ordered a bouquet shown on the website with at least 29 flowers.

Third problem...
What made matters even worse was that the lady tried to engage in a conversation with my wife about the difficulties I had with them, and told her that she spoke to a man, and that "it was not nice". The experience and the surprise element of the flowers were completely ruined due to the negative engagement at the door which my wife had no need to be spoken to about.

After this horrendous experience, my wife and I attended their branch at Franciscus Gasthuis where we spoke to the lady who promised on the phone to handle the matter for me. She informed me that they went to the flower auction and they did not have the red flowers. So, instead of informing me or putting alternative flowers, they just sent a lesser bouquet that was far below the product I ordered. She then started blaming me for their mistakes in front of my wife, and simply told me that there is nothing they can do about it.

As such, I have now made a formal complaint to them, and have also contacted VBW who is the trade association for florists.

All in all, it was an absolutely appalling and shocking experience, and completely unprofessional. This shop has absolutely no interest in bringing joy to the customers or indeed the recipients of flowers, and fail to communicate, and deliver products that are nothing like what they advertise (or do not inform customers when they are unable to provide the same or equivalent product).
