September was learning how to draw with charcoal. And there was so much to love: I loved how peaceful and fun it was, the skills learned, the calm space Irene created, the lovely people I got to meet and share the art space with, the animals she’d selected for us to draw, and my finished drawings too! Irene’s such a good teacher. Not only does she show us how to use the art tools including the different types of paper and guide us throughout the class through every stage of the drawing, she also enables us to appreciate our individual styles as well as each others.
Most of all for me though, it was fun :-) With much gratitude Irene xx

drawing with ink faces in a sketchbook is an amazing lessong. And when I asked a question, I get a quick, clear answer with additional extra an other you tube lesson from the same type. That was amazing when you know that the first video was a free video on you tube. The explaination was clear and good explained. I will certainly look more video's and will buy classes in the future.

Excellent tutorials! Love Irene’s style .. No stress but professional. Very versatile artist ..was first exposed to her through Sketchbook revival 3923.. a real newcomer to art and yet I was impressed by my portraits done with her tutorials. Have been following since then and drawing occasionally with her on line. Always learn from her!

I have taken quite a few courses with Irene from Makings & Musings and all of them have been informative, creative and a lot of fun. I have recently taken the Line & Wash course. It was a very inspiring course to do. With Irene's help I have really improved my drawing and painting. I would highly recommend taking a course and also becoming a member of the Creative Community with Makings & Musings.

Lovely course. Line and Wash is a fun technic that does not take too long or require much experience. A lot of different topics along the course and lovely explainations.
Just pay a bit of attention to the paper you use; it really makes a huge difference

Irene is clear in her instruction and makes the class interesting and fun. She works slowly enough that the project gets completed in the time allowed.

I really enjoyed the variety of subjects and topics and medium but sometimes the drawing was too fast for me, however you can go back on it if you wish.

Irene hosted a mindful drawing class using minimal materials (biro pen & pencil) for my team of 15 employees. EVERYONE loved it and said they felt very relaxed after. Irene was an excellent teacher and would highly recommend her classes.

Makings and Musings hosts amazing events. I have experienced them online so far and have found the sign up process to be really smooth and informative. The sessions itself was so relaxing and allowed me to feel free and creative whilst learning a new technique. Irene has a really good way of making all those who attend feel included and cared for. The session flew by and at the end of it I had a beautiful piece of art which I could feel proud of. I learnt a new skill and spent time on selfcare through mindful art makings in the session! Irene is really approachable, friendly and get you to think outside the box about things. I can't wait to attend another session!

Irene has re-ignited my love of art and shown me techniques to make pictures that I am really proud of. Her class was suitable for any one looking to pick up art again, those new to it or for anyone just looking to hang out in a little creative community. Highly recommended!
