This company is terrible.. the site says must return within in 30 days of receiving to get money back but then they only offer you 20% or 9.90 to exchange the items and they won’t even do any of that till you ship it back and that is when they finally inform you that you have to ship it to some science and technology place in CHINA! Don’t pretend to be in Malibu California when you are located in china and then on top of it they want you to provide a tracking number when you ship it back and just to ship from where I am it is 60+dollars… the clothes I received were nothing like the pictures the material was cheap the dress that was supposed to stop at my knees went down to my toes! NEVER AGAIN!!

I would really like to give this company a NO STAR review.
I received the two dresses. Finally. Poor quality, can see right through them, & didn't fit. Customer service was time consuming, said had to be returned within 14 days(back to China!). It took that long to get information back from them as to how to proceed. I was offered 10% refund. Yes, only 10%. Let's see if get that or if I have to get my attorney involved. My advice, DO NOT PURCHASE A THING from this company!!!!

I wish I’d known about Trustpilot prior to ordering a couple of outfits from Malibu Boutique(.com); I would have known this company for what they are: fraudsters masquerading as a real company in California, and in addition to hoodwinking buyers into thinking they were dealing with a brick and mortar company, are damaging the reputation of the actual Malibu Boutique store. When the site stated that they only had a few items left before closing down the business that they’d run for years, I found two items that I liked and ordered them, thinking how fortunate I was that they had my size. When almost two weeks passed and still no outfits, I used their tracking site and found that the items would be coming from ‘Tian’ - no other information given - and my suspicion that Tian was in China was confirmed when I located Tianjin, a major shipping port in China. No wonder they just happened to have my size: they were making the clothes as they were ordered. When I finally received the package the two outfits were shoddily made and were a terrible fit. I sent an email to the company explaining why I was sending back the clothes and was told that I’d need to send photos of the outfits and point out the problems “to help with the return procedure”. This I did and was then told that per their listed requirements I’d have to return the items to China. As there was never any mention of, nor any information posted about their return requirements in the original advertisement - only that I could return the items within 30 days for my money back - I was then referred to their return policy which did state that items needed to be returned to China, or if I preferred, to “save me the cost and inconvenience of returning the items to China” they would give me back 10% of the cost and I could keep the items. I stated that there was a California return address on the package and I would send it there and expected a full refund. They then messaged me that a 20% refund was being forwarded to the credit card that I had used to purchase the clothes. When I checked with my Credit Union to verify that the money had been returned and explained why I was checking, the operator - after contacting their fraud department - advised me that they were going to dispute the original charge and attempt to get all my money back. A frustrating and money-wasting way to learn a lesson . . .

I try to be so careful when I order online, but they got me this time. How can a company make it look like they are based in Malibu by using the name , yet because I need to return the items as they are awful, they say the return fees are high because they go to Asia?? How are they able to get away with this? I know buyer beware, but when a company has only one star reviews consistently, there is something wrong .

Malibu Boutique and Marys boutique are the same store. They operate from china and take advantage of American consumers by pretending they are American . They say they have a 100% return policy but by the time you get the merchandise from China you don’t have time to send it back with out default. They offer you 10% on what you paid and you get to keep the crap they send you. These sites appear on Instagram and Facebook and do not uphold Community standers.

Sizing is incorrect. Material is awful. Quality is poor. And customer service is terrible

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! If it were possible I would rate them a "0". I ordered a dress, which I did receive, but the material was plastic like, just terrible and the sizing was much too large and it did not come with any original tags! I contacted them the same day to return for a refund, only to go through a series of long, unhelpful emails, getting the runaround, finally advising I would have to return, at my expense, to their warehouse in China. The package I received came from Rancho Cucamonga, California so I offered to return the item back to this originating, stateside, address. This was denied. I spent days answering emails, sending photos and patiently explaining I would like to return the product and receive my money back. I finally filed a claim with my CC company but to no avail. They came back saying I would need to settle with Mary's Boutique. Please be careful: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - POOR QUALITY AND ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! A TOTAL RIP OFF!!!!

Can I give a negative 100??? Total scam. Sent a dress in completely wrong size but offered me to purchase another product for only 9.99 or take 20%refund of the $60 it cost???? If I return I have to pay for international shipping and traceable. All because they made a mistake. The return address is in China! Yup Malibu mary you are a scammer! And by the way the dress looks so cheap in person!!!!!!!

I should have checked too! I fell for the story about the fires and needing to close. NOT a reputable company, fabric is thin, quality is awful. Return policy is false. Do not buy from this Company.

Same review as others...less than one star. The clothes are NOT what you see. They are polyester from China. Took 3 weeks to get and it's unbelievably cheap fabric. No labels. Doesn't fit. Won't let me return without paying enormous shipping. NEVER buy from them. However, I have received immediate customer service replies. just not a refund!

This is a scam. This Chinese company is impersonating a real US business. Report them to: econsumer.gov so the international fair trade and other US consumer protection agencies can investigate and hopefully stop this fraud.

I wish I could give it negative stars! I agree with all the other reviews, and I should have checked first as they are totally a scam! Tops were supposed to be linen and were cheap polyester. I contacted the company and they said I would have to pay $40 to ship back to China. So much for the name Malibu. I’m so tired of all these scammers taking advantage of people

This company is a scam! I can’t believe I paid $100 for a basic polyester dress that is ill-fitting and beyond cheap. I should have checked the reviews.

Because their business is supposedly closing, they won’t reply about returns… A total nightmare!

I was lied to. Fabric cheap and stained. No return ability even though they said I could return item getting a credit back on my cc.

Agree with all of these reviews. This is a total scam- hopefully the tariffs will put them out of business… I should know better!! The prices were too good and of course they never said the stuff was junk from China… do not order from this company!!

Please read reviews before purchasing, I wish I would have…. I saw the advertisement on Instagram it was false! They are not going out of business and the clothes quality is poor. The items do not look like the models…don’t believe what you see! Cheap fabric and look homemade.

SCAM. Comes from China. They sent defective merchandise and said no credit until I paid to return them. We went back and forth for a week and they said they would credit 20%. I said yes. Two days later they said it was out of their 14 day return policy…no credit at all, Total scammers

If I would give it 0 stars I could. First delivery was horrible, the product delivered was awful. The sizing and fabric was beyond cheap. Then I tried to get a refund- no way. Ship it to China and hope for the best or offered a discount code on a new item that did not work. Then offered a 10% refund??? Under no circumstances should anyone buy anything from this site! I am out $75 and have something I would use as a cleaning rag!

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! This is NOT a real boutique. The fabric is so cheap and the dresses look nothing like the pictures! I too clearly didn't do my research and believed it was a true story of a real boutique closing in Malibu due to the fires. I saw the post on Instagram and stupidly ordered the dresses. It also took forever to received the order, nearly a month.

No stars it was awful. I thought that was a real store in Malibu as the pictures make it look it is not everything is from China. The worst fabric terrible, terrible terrible do not buy buyer. Beware I am sending everything back. They’re making me pay for the shipping to China. Unbelievable.
