Last weekend I experienced the Jet Ranger helicopter simulator.
As a qualified jet ranger pilot I found the simulator very realistic combining true earth scenery with a fully functional digital instrument panel and moving map. The controls felt very much like the real thing and the sounds and vibration through the seat was excellent.
There are experienced staff onsite to show you how to fly it and you can choose your own area to fly around if you wish or try to land on an oil rig or aircraft Carrier.
I think this simulator would be a great challenge for the novice or experienced pilot.
I managed to land on the helipad on top of the Needles lighthouse on the Isle of Wight.
