Keith arrived and took a good look around the car. The car was impeccable inside and out and it was like he was determined to find something. On the report for 3 of the alloys, none that had been... See more

Good experience
A very good service from Jimmy and his team today, the inspection went smoothly with a couple of minor things he found and need to be paid for; he was courteous and attentive. I noticed many negative reviews for this company so thought it is only fair to post a positive one when it's well-deserved.

No report. No solutions. Shocking.

Awful company had them come out to…
Awful company had them come out to inspect a car I was giving back. Came out to inspect & collect my car. Always look after my cars so thought there would be no issues!! They looked around my car they said there was a scratch on the back bumper leading onto the back door ok I thought! Then they went on to claim all four wheels were scuffed & damaged? Asked them to show me which I struggled to see!! All it was was light scratches on the black paint. The car was 3 years old surely this would be down to wear & tear. Absolutely disgusted they want me to pay ££492 for this!!!

Not what they used to be
I’ve used Manheim for a while and they were superb if they got it wrong they sorted but how that has changed of late the reports that they produce are getting more and more fraudulent and when you report the issue they dismiss it without any investigation. I was always told you make a mistake you hold your hands up and put it right which manheim used to do but now it seems to be run with no concience or recourse. I left Bca for the same reason, until you accept accountability for your mistakes you will continue to lose good honest customers. On another note more training is needed for your staff to deal with people who have severe mental health issues as you’ve left me in great difficulty with your underhand dealings and in the brink of meltdown with your dishonesty

Had to wait nearly two weeks for a collection slot for my lease car. They then cancelled on the day, driver off sick. They then offered a date in another two weeks. Had to cancel insurance and new car delivery.

Rude and awful service
Quite possibly the rudest and most awful service received in my entire adult experience.

Terrible company
Terrible company. Used them for years and they treat you like crap. Constantly sending out extra charges when the cars they sell are nothing like what you read on the description. They are more than happy to keep billing you

Consumer beware…
If it was known at the time of signing the lease agreement on who would inspect and collect the vehicle at the end of the lease, I would have flat out refused to lease the vehicle from the dealer! Twice now they have brought contempt on the car dealers who use them. Read other reviews the picture is clear!

End of lease inspection issues
Manheim were used by our lease company for an end of lease inspection. Apart from the inspection taking double the time they advised, they found a number of spurious faults. Looking at other reviews it seems to be common practice to find dirt / ripples in the paintwork. Don't feel you just have to accept the faults. We took it to the Ombudsman and were successful. Just make sure you have your own photos, and a photo of the registration number is very helpful.

This company is just awful
This company is just awful. They would find issues and give you a bill for a car straight off the production line. I don't know why finance companies use them. After a lifetime of returning vehicles after 2 year leases, this is the first time I've tried to be charged for more than a couple of scuffed alloys. This time, it's a £700+ bill for a very, very straight car. Consequently, I now have the hassle of contesting things. Really, belive the other reviewers, this company is horrendous.

Sorry no more for me …….competition for old bangers is just too much…
Have been attending Manhiem for many years as a buyer or seller and have seen it all…….
Cars damaged by the employees..
Many sold with issues not disclosed prior
Biggest issue covered up is head gaskets
Cars deliberately failing to start to avoid sale and be sold after.
Prices inflated during auction with the same gentleman(Manhiem employees)bidding the cars up.
Auctioneers selling before bidding has ended by deliberately ignoring eye contact with bidders. Then you find out it’s a local trader that buys hundreds of cars very very cheaply…
I can’t lie because Manhiem used to be the place for bargain cars but with the fee it’s a total rip off……
£25 to send off a V5 is ridiculous…
The fees for the cars are extortionate as a buyer and seller you just can’t compete anymore because the only financial winner is Manhiem……

My lease car was due back after 3 years - I had some trepidation given the reviews online, but my concerns were unfounded. Jamie called the night before collection with an ETA, arrived the following morning bang on time, spent 20 minutes with the car and off he went. Jamie was friendly and professional, and the only excess cost were scuffed alloys, which I was expecting. At £60 per alloy I thought this was perfectly reasonable. Great service from Jamie and Manheim.

If I could give no stars I would.
This company are an absolute scam! Handed back my car after 3 years in great condition. They are trying to charge me for things which cannot be seen from photographs?! There was a slight crack in the floor mat which is what happens when you don't provide car mats in the car! We are being billed nearly £1,000 which is ridiculous considering the car has barely moved and only done 19k miles when I had been paying for 30k miles on return! Tried to come to an agreement and they are not budging. One of the marks I removed with a cloth, guy told me he would take it off and didn't, Leasys still want the money for it when the mark is no longer there!
Never ever using either company again! Avoid at all costs!!

If I could rate them lower I would!
If I could rate them lower I would! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
They came to inspect my previous vehicle and are trying to charge £874 in damages that aren't there. Despite one of those damages being the tyre that they told me and I quote "but don't worry love it's still road worthy and legal" yet are trying to charge me £94 for a replacement tyre. They're also trying to charge me for a missing parcel shelf that was never there and even though I have attempted to rectify this issue from the beginning. Another £150! That's just the tip of it. All I can say is if you're leasing a vehicle look into who does the inspection! Now I'm stuck in a dispute over this!

Avoid Manheim
If you are leasing avoid anyone who uses Manheim. Utter disgrace. They do not measure against BVRLA guidelines and make damage up that is not there. My total charges were approx £860. I've been told that there is corrosion to the alloy when I have plastic caps on my electric car! Also told there there are 2 minor dents that are not visible to the eye or camera, inspector claims he could see them. The biggest joke was claiming that there was a hole in the carpet when there clearly was not. The cost for the 'hole' along was £453. Total cowboys!!! I’ve called the finance company who said that they are receiving increasing number of complaints about this company……so avoid them!!!!!!
update 05/10/2024
After reporting my concerns regarding the inspection to the finance company, they provided an independent inspection who disputed most of the report with the main conflict being the 'hole' in the carpet. The independent report stated that it was wear and tear of the carpet fibres and removed the charge. As a result of the inaccurate report, the finance company wiped all charges. Manheim are definitely not a company to be trusted. I have reported them to the BVLRA and considering legal action for the distress caused.

Awful to work for
Awful to work for, stay well away. No appreciation, complete favourites from upper management. A broth*l is more organised than manheim.
Bunch of crooks
If you ever lease a car, make sure you ask if the collection service is provided by these crooks!!!! If so, do NOT lease. I warn you. They will try to rob you with excessive charges over and beyond what they should be. These conmen needs to be investigated.
I suggest you film the collection, keep the bvrla guidelines handbook with you and hold your ground. Took me several weeks on end to dispute but they finally backed down after I took it further.
Shameful!

Poor customer service
Similar experience to other one star reviews. Car inspected at the end of a 4 year lease. Inspector has made several allegations of damage, none of which were pointed out to us at the time. Told us £760 was reasonable to pay as some people paid £3000. The car was in great condition with reasonable wear and tear. Contacted customer care as Manheim suggested to other reviewers, to be told I would have to take this up with the finance company and they could only send photographic evidence to them. Disgusting treatment which I have never experienced with any of my previous leased cars.

Had to put 1 star on to write this
Had to put 1 star on to write this, currently trying to return a lease car and it's one of the most stressful experiences I've had. 7mins into an inspection, I was told the car was too 'soiled' for a detailed inspection. Nothing more than a fine cover of dust....i offered to clean it with a jet wash that was 40ft away in my work and he refused. Started the inspection before I arrived, didn't show ID and did not issue a report on completion. Cancelled new lease based on this experience.....its that bad.....shameless
