The "administration" here is stringent
The "administration" here is stringent, mainly because it is staffed by former military personnel. They have implemented so many unnecessary rules that it feels like an army camp. For instance, they put up barriers on the road during high traffic hours at night, which causes congestion and accidents. Secondly, they have this A ‘Quick Reaction Force’ and OH MY GOD if you don't know what it is please google….but they have these North east people dressed up in black Polos with commando written behind them, camo pants in the trunk area and, Double sole moulded boots! First of all, impersonation of defence is not allowed, and if you look at these guys sitting on plastic chairs all day in the sun and in the evening during mosquito hours, it's pitiable. idk why some inhuman veteran's idea was this. Still, if he's read this, I would really stand up and clap if he could do this job for a week. Still, no, they would sit in the AC room with an air purifier puffing every thirty minutes. Slavery has been abolished, and these are not your ‘buddies’ or ‘Batman’. QRF in the Indian army is meant to engage in any combat in a cantonment in a short time, not to intimidate students in a college. Third, you will see something called ‘Campus patrol’, ok, so this has got to be the biggest scam in the country. Believe me or not, these guys are using ‘khaki’ uniforms on civilians who pose as police to patrol the campus in this little car… But they are NOT police. They are made to impersonate the police, wearing the same uniform, badges, epaulettes, shoes, and even the cap.
On top of that, they will put the MAHE logo. So, in our country, apart from the IPS, we also have the Mahe Police Services. Then they have a patrol car on top of that and a Mahindra Bolero like the police, which is run like an Emergency, endangering their own student pedestrians …..I mean, c’mon!
Need I remind you of section 8 of the Police Act 1861?
The security personnel are either Nepali or illiterate locals who don’t even know how to communicate correctly. Instead of assisting students, they spend all day on their phones, neglecting their responsibilities. It's frustrating to see them let dogs do their work, as there have been multiple dog bites involving students.
The university administration needs to recognise that it’s time for the retired staff from the defence forces to move on and enjoy their second innings, rather than lining their pockets with students' money. The 7th Pay Commission is more than enough for you.
There are serious issues, such as a lack of job placements, overly strict campus timings, the ground to exercise closes at six p.m., fearing attack by leopards, and they have put a cage up but haven't caught it yet. You cannot play tennis or basketball after 8:30 p.m. every night, as all the guards come chasing you with sticks, restricted areas in your own campus, subpar mess food and hostel facilities, and exorbitant fees. About two and a half to three lakhs for a shared room… on top of that, if you are late to reach the hostel after curfew time, that is 11:20 p.m., you are fined 200₹ - 500₹ per fault.
There have even been numerous 🪢 🗣️ 🔫 vehicle accidents, jumping cases that were kept quiet, which you can find discussed on Reddit. Professors seem to care more about publishing articles than teaching; they barely engage with students and are more focused on their own agendas 🌿🌿(if you know what I mean)
I strongly advise against wasting your hard-earned money here. What was once TMA Pai's dream has become a nightmare under the current administration.
Additionally, they have started to overly police students' personal interactions. Simple activities like hugging or sitting with someone of the opposite gender on a bench are now scrutinised.
The finance department appears to be one of the biggest nuthouses, especially under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer. I genuinely wonder who deemed him fit for the job — the interviewer should be the one resigning!
You were never worthy of Olive green, that's why a new pattern came for forces now!
