Charged a lot for work that was described but unseen

Positive first impression but was badly let down - couldn't get away fast enough. The owner promised "comprehensive legal advice" however after I paid the money it turns out that he did not read the key documents and could not assess the case (and didn't give the legal advice that was promised). I instructed this company for a few months and I cannot recall receiving any advice or opinion that had a basis in law or on any legal arguments. Their methods to relieve clients from their money included: (1) detailed descriptions of all the work carried out or to be carried out but that was unseen and from which no value was derived, (2) calling me to chat and sending a few emails and then sending me a surprise bill for 1.5 hrs of calls and correspondence and "reviewing" even though the solicitor didn't even know the basics of the case. The solicitor described in great detail the work that she would be doing and reassured me that she would follow my instructions and confirm everything with me. After 2 months of hearing nothing, she sent an email saying that she had already carried out £5K of work which was unseen and that I had agreed to some work (which I had not). Despite alleging to have spent £5K of work, when I spoke to her about the case, she did not know anything and just repeated whatever I said. When I complained, the owner refused and sent a long rambling letter describing in detail all the work carried out (that I did not benefit from) and blamed everything on me saying that I was difficult and that I did not like his advice. The firm did not give anything that resembled sound legal advice and did not create any value. I think they suppress negative reviews because the have a perfect 5-star on google and my honest review was not published. My impression of the owner is that he is a bully who threatened to sue me for posting my honest opinion and sharing my experience with this firm. If proceedings are issued, I will defend them vigorously because everything I say is true
