Was told when I purchased the guitar that I’d get a free health check and restring in future so I brought the guitar in about 2 months after purchase for this free setup. I told the clerk that the only issue I was having was the g string was jumping out of tune constantly, and I had already restrung the guitar once myself to eliminate the string being the problem, so it was likely the tuning machine that was the issue. Once I had the guitar back from the shop and brought it home the action was super high so it was unplayable. Checking the truss rod showed that the guitar tech completely loosened the truss rod, he also raised the bridge a couple millimeters. How you come to these adjustments after I clearly stated everything was fine except the g string is bewildering to me. Alarm bells were ringing in my head when the clerk had me sign a waiver that left no accountability to manny’s if they destroyed the guitar during the service, I should have said no then. I was also charged for the strings.
