I bought this at a musician friends advice, she is helping us record Crystal Bowl meditations, & she is VERY happy with the device. It is difficult to truly experience the vibration of singing bowls, & this is the best we have heard ! We also had to upgrade microphones, but SOooo worth it !

I bought the Tascam Model 12 for it's stand alone abilities, I like the solo & mute buttons, the slider depth and the effect return. I really paid a bit more for these things. Recording it easy, without too much button pushing or screen usage. DAW Controller: I have tried using it with DAWs Reaper, Studio one 4 pro & Ableton LiveLlite 10 and while it worked in general it was somewhat inconvenient & dissapointing, IMO isn't the greatest controller but, I have only used the Korg NANOControl2 as a comparison. Audio in: via USB into those DAWS was easy and I was able to do with audio input what I needed without any trouble via ASIO4ALL. Drawbacks: is that whilst you can move tracks internally or send to sub and jack into another track to mixdown, there is NO internal multichannel mixdown facility, Wish: an Internal multichannel mixdown facility and some more inserts would nice to have to have some more to reduce the need for moving tracks around. Overall I am happy with my purchase, the quality is good as I expected and I am sure i will have great use of it for many years..
