Positives:
1 Good bike, feels comfortable.
Negatives:
1. Box came broken. It was also missing the toolkit. Fortunately I had my own kit so I was able to assemble the bike. But feels silly that i paid for the full package but did not receive the entire thing.
2. Bike chain was stuck and I had to wrestle it to remove. Bad packaging imo.

The bike is great as expected, not my first Marin. Packed perfectly and assembly was a breeze. The power in this thing is so awesome. Just did a quick test run in the driveway and the pedal assist is perfect.

I only received one of the 4 air…
I only received one of the 4 air fresheners I ordered because the packaging was loose. The metal sign arrived dented which is not ideal. I don’t want to waste resources mailing back. I love my Marin mountain bike that I ride year round to work so not that big of a deal but still a pain in the butt.

I only need one bolt
It was like $40 including shipping for one bolt that I needed. I’ve snapped one and now bent one. I don’t think it should be this expensive to replace a bolt that warps under moderate use.

The shipment arrived on time and ready for assembly. I will give props the the packaging team at Marin bikes, because, the box looked as though it had been through a trip around the world a few times, but no parts missing or damaged on the inside and that's all that counts.
The bicycle rolls true and smooth, shifts effortlessly with the in-hub derailer and braking is a breeze with the hydraulic discs. We're excited for the family trip to Mackinac Island next week to christen teh two-wheeler officially!

SAUSALITO ST E2 is excellent
SAUSALITO ST E2 is an excellent bike for hitting the local bike path and commuting. The Shimano STEPS system is intuitive and extremely functional. This is not a “moped” that looks like a bike, you have to pedal with the STEPS system, but the assist feature is really seamless with three assist modes. You can also turn off the pedal assist and just ride this bike as a normal 11 speed bike. I really like the gear ratio, 1x11, and the quality of the drive train (Shimano Deore). The bike is very comfortable to ride and a joy the be on. Looking forward to many rides to come.
