I had previously replaced the orginal gimble bearing on my 2005 Volvo Penta SX-M outdrive about 3 years ago. This bearing was a cheaper non OEM after market bearing. The bearing was snug, but not a press fit when I installed it in the bearing housing, while the orginal OEM bearing was a tighter press fit. I had to remove it with a slide hammer. I could tap the new bearing into place with little effort. Consequently, over the next 3 years of use, about 75 hours, the bearing became loose in the housing and spun. This caused a lot of noise and some damage to the housing. I believe this cheaper non OEM bearing was slightly ot of spec on the O.D. dimention. The new bearing I bought to replace it fit much more snug, and I used some Locktight 680 to help secure the bearing in the damaged housing. All good now! Although not an OEM bearing, it is a higher quality bearing. A very good bearing for the money.
