This one is branded as QuickSilver but not a quality product. I did have trouble with the QUICKSILVER COIL (China production) not appearing to have terminals that are well made and the terminal sheared at a thread valley with very little tightening force. The coild is still unimpressively produced and Marine Parts has images of the thread where it sheared with some sort of weird potting metal (it is not a solid metal terminal like the original US Made Mercruiser coil). However Marine Parts (SUPER IMMEDIATELY SENT) supplied a new coil (same exact item) that appears so far to be creating great spark and my old Mercruiser is running well with all the items that fit and matched perfectly (plugs matched, distributor and plug wires appeared excellent quality and matched lengths perfectly. ) I did not really care so much about price but speed so could get quickly back up and running so Marine Parts came through. That coil should be better made (sporting "quicksilver" branding and at a cost over 100$ suggests, at least, better quality) though as it seemed like something you would just get on Amazon. I would hate to have that terminal shear being out a mile on lake Michigan or worse in the Ocean so this is important. I think for me I am using this, but keeping the old original coil with copper terminal studs on the boat just in case. I would prefer something better made, but my wife is skiing and the boat is running so will fix this when I have to .
