Markettaker is a top notch options investor educator/ school. I recently had my classes with John Kmiecik at Markettaker. John is a veteran options trader and teacher. He did a great job using a bit or humor to teach a sometimes heavy subject. He also made himself available in the chat room and e-mail and his classes were archived daily in case you wanted to revisit his lessons. Potential trade candidates were made available daily and once a week time was devoted through quizzes related to understanding the option greeks, a very important concept in becoming a successful option trader!

I was anticipating that the TED coaching sessions would last more than one week. Obviously I hadn't read through the details of exactly what I would be receiving so I can't blame MTM. My only criticism of the coaching sessions is that there seemed to be very little time spent on how to set up software to generate the display of the two probability curves and what the parameters were, so I haven't been able to do that on my desktop. But a lot of other information has been made available, some of which I've taken in, the rest in due time. However, I did make use of what I learned to develop my own system, which so far is working very well. I've made 4 trades and exited with 4 gains, hope to keep it at 100% as long as possible. Bottom line, I was a little disappointed in the TED sessions, but all the other material made up for it, and I may have finally found a system that works for me.

I came across MTM when I decided that I wanted to learn to trade full time, I had traded on and off for years with mixed results. Passarelli's material is unambiguous and easy to implement and more importantly is clear on how to manage risk. The TED program specifically teaches one skill, trading earnings which, in my opinion, you can use for the rest of you trading career. I came to MTM when I was looking for legitimate information on how to develop a trading plan that suited me, I have taken most of their courses and also done more in depth training with them and I can't recommend them highly enough, Dan and all of the trainers are former industry professionals, which is invaluable if you are transitioning from an unrelated field, like I am. Although they are primarily an options teaching firm, I learned a short term method for trading commodities from them and that is what I primarily do now. MTM offers a wealth of experience and opportunities for you to create a workable trading plan.

Presentation could have been simpler and better. Live examples are too fast to follow, people in the chat were asking immediately for someone to post the trade idea on the chat.

You need to pay for some service to get the details of the move for the last quarters, so that is a monthly expense. A simple software update on the website integrating any earnings website would have been better. If I had known all these, I wouldn’t have signed up.

I learned a countless number of lessons, trading concepts, and really very detailed nuances of options trading that could only be learned over many years of trading options in a matter of months during my time as a student at Market Taker Mentoring. Dan is always available to his students and always willing to go over concepts during live classes in a simple and effective way if they aren't clear. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is willing to put in the time, effort and planning required to learn and apply these concepts

I researched countless firms and mentorship teams when I was looking for a trading coach. I'll save you the time, this is a terrific group of coaches. They all bring something different to the table. They teach in such a way that is easy to understand and can advance quickly, BUT you have to be committed and put in the time. If you are not 100% confident in every trade you’re missing something, if you think you already know a lot about the market you can still learn a tremendous amount. From Beginner to Professional traders it is an awesome community! If you are looking for a service that feeds you random trade ideas to blindly take you are not at the right place, head down the street to the casino for some entertainment. However, if you’re looking to understand how the casino works and how to put the odds in your favor with confidence on every trade then you have come to the right place. You learn how to spot a good trade and what gives you edge up from the other traders to take the smart trade over and over!

I have been participating in the morning Group Coaching classes for several years and have found John Kmiecik's approach to be extremely valuable as a trader of options. I would highly recommend this service!

More recently, I've been attending the Market Edge Classes and while the focus for this class has more to do with various equities and ETF's and the overall market trends, I have found John Seguin's perspectives very helpful and complement my overall approach to the markets and to option trading.

The MTM team is clearly dedicated to teaching and the success of their students!

I have been in group coaching for 2 years. John K. is a excellent instructor. With real examples during class you pick up on things you can't get only from a book. There were several, (many) times I wasn't getting a concept and then John would show something or say something a slightly different way and I would have my AH- HA moment.
This coaching is mostly swing or short term trades. As such you don't get exposure to adjusting trades. As John K says, adjusting is just closing one trade and opening a new trade with your new assumptions. I like that he stresses proper trade management over everything and the need to have a trading plan with exits thought out ahead of placing the trade.

My issue is that I get promotions to seminars I have already attended in the past...like the Earnings one. I have trouble logging into some seminars, but Kathleen sets me straight. It is probably me that screws up. I attend the 3pm CT webinar with John S (excellent) but I wish it started at 1:30 pm so when the webinar ended, and we want to put on a trade as a result of view that day's webinar,...we'd have time to evaluate it an put it on. Now webinar ends when market closes.

Corrected the e-mail address, which had been 2 separate addresses. This was done promptly and accurately.

The course work is excellent, however the timing of live classes are not always convenient.

I felt the concept was straightforward but was cumbersome in execution.
Also it was tied to historical tendencies. I have a hard time with that.
The trades I followed were not successful. That doesn't mean the process doesn't have merit...periods of drawdown can always occur. If you START duing a drawdown, you basically get poisoned to the concept.
I never did get to utilizing SLACK for access to the trading room. If you can use SLACK you MUST be smart...so I would have liked to listen to the great minds in the room !
Bottom line........I do NOT trade earnings. I DO trade volatility spike leading up to earnings. I am far better trading directional spreads. I was looking to expand my horizons.....this turtle went back to the screen inside his shell :).
And as a follow up....Dan actually read this review and the very next morning gave me a PERSONAL CALL during trading hours of all things. HE REALLY WANTS US TO SUCCEED. There isn't any better people than those who help you even when you struggle. So I struggled, but Dan is there for you (and me). That is priceless !

Learning how to middle the market turned some of my trades from loser/break-even into winners, even if just a little bit. Sometimes making an extra 20% vs trading the mark.
Learning about Vega and how it effects the long option helped a lot. If the long option drops too much in IV the higher Vega overrides the crush of the short option, so understanding how Vega works, makes it easier to pick the correct long expiration date to help in getting an extra edge on the trade.

Learning to identify fair value, resistance, and support was important.
