Paleros Beach - great resort!
Just spent 2 weeks at Paleros Beach resort. We have visited many MW resorts over the past 30+ years. We had never visited Paleros as we like sailing, and had always been told there is very little wind. We experienced good winds on some days. Enough for our level of sailing and certainly enough to get the RS catamarans moving.
With the addition of Padel & Pickleball to this resort, we decided to try this resort, and we're very glad we did! It is now our favourite of all the current resorts. Padel is particularly good, with 2 courts and a great social programme run by the Padel coach Phil, who was really very good! I'd go back for the Padel alone if Phil is running it. I did an Xpress tennis course in the 2nd week too which was well organised by Harry & Owen. Evan coached the classic course and he was also really personable. The whole rackets team were a credit to MW.
We also sailed, cycled & SUP'd, all of which were good.
Rooms were a better standard than some of the other resorts. We chose a family room for the 2 of us. The extra space was a godsend.
Breakfast & dinner were served buffet style in the main restaurant. The food was good quality and there were plenty of choices. The Greek restaurant & bar staff were nothing short of epic. So friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Alice (ops manager) was also very visible and always on hand to answer questions.
The local village was a 30 min walk and well worth it for a sunset drink or long lazy lunch. During the day you can sign out a bicycle and explore the local area. We also hired a boat with a skipper for the day from Dolphin Boats (outside Sirtaki restaurant in Paleros). Our lovely skipper Dimitrius, took us all around the islands from Skorpius to Meganisi and Kalamos, including lunch at Varga restaurant.
If I had one area for improvement, it would be relating to the Pickleball programme, or lack of it. Pickleball was very much an afterthought with no real tuition or socials, despite there being plenty of appetite for the game amongst guests the 2 weeks we were there.
In summary, this resort is great with plenty of activities, but equally plenty of places to simply sit by the pools and read a book, including an adult only pool. We will definitely be back :)
A Spectacular View and Great Food.
The Holiday Village was very well maintained and the accommodation, though dated, was very comfortable. The staff were delightful. There was always someone to ask if you needed help but they were also unobtrusive. For us, (over 70s), we could have done with a bit less noise from the disco and other evening events. The food was remarkably good given the price of the holiday. The beach and the view from the beach were beautiful. The food offering at the beach bar could be improved but the friendly staff struggled valiantly with what they had on offer.
Highly professional
Mark Warner are highly professional and organised. The hotel (Aeolean Beach -Lesvos) was delightful, very clean and all staff were very friendly & helpful. Been home 3 days and already booking for next year
PHOKAIA 2025
There were a variety of activities on offer. The staff were generally helpful and knowledgable. The weather was great.
More intermediate windsurf instructors would be beneficial. The coach seat belts didn’t work and the driver was on his phone, which was disconcerting.
Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Overall a very happy and memorable holiday at Kamari Beach
Flight and transfers really went well - I'd not heard of Enter Air but good leg room and efficient service, 4 staggered coaches so no big queues on transfers. Hotel and MW staff very helpful, friendly and the beach team were especially competent. Sailing equipment and support was of a very good standard just a pity only 2 Cats. Hotel food was of a very good standard, plenty of variety with lots of fresh fruit and veg. The hotel needs to invest in the sewage system as there are bad smells in some areas and in our room from the drains and the bathrooms are tired especially the showers (heads rather blocked and corroded). Some or the sun decks were broken and I had to ask the manager to take them away as they were dangerous. Overall we had a very good experience as the holiday worked really well for us and my two children aged 19 and 21 with like minded young people and a good night life for them in the local village.
Special holiday for 3 generations
There were 10 of us at Paleros during the last week of August - 2 grandparents, 5 adults, and 3 grandchildren (aged 6 years, 3 years and 6 months); the second visit for most of us. The temperature was usually around 30C+. Spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet accommodation with air conditioning. A good range of activities; one or more used by each of us apart from the baby (tennis, padel, pickle ball, sailing, kayaking, crazy sofa, keep fit, swimming -3 pools and sea, and cycling). Alternatively could just sit and read in the shade by the adults only pool. Equipment good although tennis rackets did not have vibration dampener unless requested and bikes suffered quite a lot of punctures. Spacious attractive grounds including children's playground. Childcare was excellent and appropriate for age. Food was delicious. The staff were brilliant from the top down or down up! The Lime photographers took lots of good quality photos. Short flight and transfer from airport to hotel. Small attractive town of Paleros - charming cafes and restaurant - about 30 minutes walk away along the coast.
We have been coming to Lemnos Village for 30 years…
We have been coming to Lemnos Village resort since 1996, just after mark warner started there. We love the place, the setting, the staff, the quiet, the island and its people.
Great facilities and staff
Good facilities in the room although the finish was looking a little tired. The staff were excellent and the breakfast and dinner buffets plentiful and of high quality. The beach and water sports facilities were first class with great tuition. The children were very happy in the kids club and the evening film for them meant their parents could completely relax. Many boxes were ticked.
The holiday was excellent
The holiday was excellent, staff to meet you at the airport, hotel was clean and tidy, food was great. Activities were fantastic with being able to do as much or as little as we wanted.
Negative- needed accompanying to the day boat trip, we were just left in the town car park with no idea where to go or where the boat was, then confusion getting on the boat as the owners insisted we should have tickets, when we did not as we booked at the hotel, all a difficult in another language.
Biggest gripe was the hidden main road between the hotel and the beach which is cleverly not in any photo or description of the hotel, this ment we couldn't let the kids leave the beach on their own, or come back ie from the toilet, and my hope of a beach bar near the beach is the evening didnt happen, as its right on the road. Our previous holiday to Corisca with Mark Warner 10 years ago had this and was great.
Was the holiday great , yes , Did Mark Warner have their usual high standards of customer service, yes , Do they look after you , yes . Will I go back to Paleris, no , the road and the not so fantastic beach ruined it for me I'm afraid
We had a simply fabulous time in…
We had a simply fabulous time in Rhodes. It was hot, the wind blew and the food was great-not cordon bleu but fresh, tasty and no limits on helpings. As ever the plumbing was very “Greek”, the power and water stopped occasionally and the boats broke on a regular basis (not surprising when you see what they have to put up with) but it didn’t affect the overall experience. The cycling was the best set up of any MW we have been to-and we’ve been to them all. Most importantly our 3 children simply won’t countenance doing anything but MW next year. The only two things that need improvement are the completely non working WiFi in the rooms and the Adult pool actually being kept for Adult length swimming.
We have done lots of MW holidays and…
We have done lots of MW holidays and its a holiday format that just works for us. We booked late as we were unsure of our eldest sons availability to join us until only a few weeks before the trip. Booking was easy via website and a phone call; arrival in Greece was easy, the hotel arrival was rushed as we had welcome briefings within 15 minutes but otherwise the local staff, the MW staff couldnt have done more to explain what was available and when. Food was good, not top class but good quality and plenty of it. Would have liked more coffee options at breakfast though! Hotel room was nice, beach was great if a little steep to enter/leave the sea. Overall a great week.
Multi generational holiday
First it is great that you have a number to ring which is answered almost immediately by a person! Booking is very simple especially if like us you have been before, all details are on line and all you have to do is update the ages of the children who you are taking. Our grandchildren had an even better time this time as they were afforded freedom and spent evening and lunch times with their friends.
Fab family holiday in Paleros
Had a brilliant two week holiday in Greece, Paleros. Kids loved their gangs in kids club and we loved having time to relax and read a book by the pool. All the staff were great, friendly and helpful. We loved the entertainment in the evening too. All in all a great family holiday and we thought it was good value for money.
My only complaint is the rooms are a little tired. Our French windows were broken so they wouldn’t close properly. And the loungers by the pool are definitely on their last legs. It didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment but it would be great if the place could have a little refresh.
‘Does exactly what it says on the tin ‘
Returning to Kamari Beach so knew the lie of the land . There was unfortunately a rather nasty sewage smell coming from our bathroom which came and went but we did not let it ruin our week . We did report at the time . 2 teenagers kept well busy in their clubs during the week and friends made . Food on offer was of a decent quality and diversity. Regret didn’t cycle . Played tennis but padel seems to be the thing . Adult pool a big bonus . Mark Warner …’ does exactly what it says on the tin ‘ . Will return .
We spent a week at Phokaia Beech Resort…
We spent a week at Phokaia Beech Resort and had a wonderful time. In our opinion this is definitely the best of the MW resorts and everything was perfect. Fantastic staff, delicious food….snd of course perfect weather. We had several spa treatments which were great. Will be back next year 😀
Great Watersports Holiday
We stayed at Phokaia, Foca in Turkey. Great Watersports Facilities and excellent beachfront and sports staff. The food was lovely and varied. The hotel, the grounds and facilities were fantastic. The drinks were very expensive and the staff struggled to understand us at times but overall a lovely holiday.
Very disappointing beachfront
Very disappointing beachfront. We’re all experienced sailors and wanted to return to Lesvos as the resort is marketed as “for expert sailors”. But as soon as the wind hits force 5, they stop all dinghy sailing. Not once this week did they do the sunset sailing race. Intermediate and advanced sailors should go with Neilson instead. Waste of a week.
Stayed at Palairos
Stayed at Palairos. Good accommodation and resort. However tried to get child on the Indy club on the first day but were told there were no places. Ah! That’s part the reason for booking with MW. Were very unhelpful and came up with lame excuses such as they were booked months ago (doesn’t say this on the site) and finally said it’s due to ratios. Could just use another member of staff! So be warned if you book you may not be able to use the clubs. I did email mark warner customer services at the beginning of the holiday to ask them to fix it so that I didn’t get a lame post holiday ‘you should have said excuse’. I didn’t receive a reply. Very disappointing, especially as we lost the first day of the holiday due to an 11 hour plane maintenance delay.
Great resort with loads to do & nice local village to visit.
Great resort with loads to do.
Beach front had lots of good equipment. Winds good on most days, generally more in the afternoons.
Local village only short walk/cycle away with many great lunch stops and shops.
Kids clubs great fun for our 11 year old but teenagers club for 16 year old didn't really happen as not many turned up.
Plenty for them to get involved in with adults. Sailing/windsurfing, runs/hikes & social Padel all good fun.
Staff were all amazing and encouraging. Shout outs to those that we crossed paths with. Sam, Lucy, Ollie, Will, Ali & Costas.
Only slight downside was length of transfer but worth the wait!
Mark Warner are a fantastic holiday…
Mark Warner are a fantastic holiday company. They are great for families, especially if you are in to sports and activities. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
