Only 1 meal discounted, when the flyer clearly states discounts for up to 8 persons.
Long queue at the bar, only one person serving, it's always the same (tulip queen, Spalding.)

Sacred Orchard Nantwich

There were 19 of us booked in for meals, we had a mixture of festive and normal menu. From start to finish we had a great experience, the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was lovely and promptly brought out with no errors. Overall a great experience.

I have been to 3 Marston pubs:-

I have been to 3 Marston pubs:-
Brynmawr, Pembroke Dock and Barry.
Food consistently poor at each. Some of the meals must be precooked as clumps of congealed rice.
Last meal at the Cherry Orchard was appalling. We had sandwiches and chips as a lunchtime snack. Poor quality bread, thin scattering of cheese with a lot of chutney. About 10 chips on each plate. My sister had fish finger sandwich which had 2 large fingerprints indented on the sandwich. £7.99 each which would be fair price if food had been of satisfactory quality
I dont think that the serving staff care. They never returned to the table to ask if all ok.
We must remember to avoid these places like the plague!.

I visited The Hoghton arms in Withnell several years ago and never went back as the food was so bad, but today I went to try it again as I had seen they had a new menu etc and I have to say we had a wonderful meal cooked to perfection and the staff were great 😊 I highly recommend this place and it was so good I have rebooked to go for a Sunday Roast 😁

The quality and freshness of the food

The quality and freshness of the food served was poor. The shredded lettuce on my plate was brown and the peas still cold in the middle. Both the food and hospitality needs to be improved.

Birthday meal at the Brown Hare

Went for a birthday meal at the Brown Hare, Penwortham, Preston and was disappointed. Although we had booked a table there was a 45 mins and then we had to chase a waiter to take the order. Ordered chicken strips as a starter but came with no chives, spring onions and only one tiny piece if a chillie. The burger after had a very strange taste and the fries were hard and some burnt.
I know this is a dog friendly pub but noticed lots and lots of dog hairs round the table. Carpet was in need of a good hoover.
Would think twice about going again.
The Hoghton Arms at Withnell is much better by comparison.

The Fields at Aylesford17

We attended The Fields at Aylesford Marston establishment for a family celebration which consisted of five adults and three children. Unfortunately our visit to your establishment was, to be quite factual, a complete shambles.

On eventually ordering drinks, first order:

* we received water instead of lemonade
* jug of tap water served with no glasses
* one glass of wine ordered served in a tumbler, yes a tumbler, to be told there were no wine glasses available, requested wine be transferred to a gin glass, and yes no gin glasses either!! Was informed later they had a collection of 42 wine glasses for whole pub and restaurant. This establishment must cater for at least 150plus! Suggested a visit to Tescos to buy more. There was also ice in wine which wasn’t asked for.

*. Lack of drinks out of stock
* No J20s Apple and raspberry
* No apple juice
* Ordered bottled water not served had to wait considerable time for bottled water to be served

This was just drink issues! Absolutely ridiculous.

We then tried to order certain foods they had at least 45% of the “menu” out of stock:

* No sea bass
* No Sirlon steak
* No roast pork

One our party wanted sirlon which they didn’t have, offered rump which was so burnt it was like shoe leather, asked for medium! Requested sweet potato fries with this dinner, brought normal chips, returned, the correct fries were brought approximately 15 minutes later when dinner was eaten!

Condiments no spoons in pots had to pour out of pots provided.

The children’s roast in comparison to the children mac and cheese was shameful. The mac and cheese was literally three spoonfuls in a tiny bowl. Certainly not value for money. This was not a substantial meal for a baby let alone how it was sold as a child’s meal. No chives as described on menu so this is being mis sold. This ‘chilli sauce’ was 100% watered down. Obviously this also was running low.

* Brownie stated served with ice cream again mis sold and represented as literally less than half scoop of ice cream obviously running out of that as well!

* Caramel Sunday was full of spray cream all melted, no ice cream just a mass of cream and three biscuits this was completely melted and dissolved.

As you can see this is totally unacceptable and completely ruined our celebrations.

We accept not always things run smoothly BUT this situation was beyond belief and a complete waste of money.

Had to order halloumi fries due to lack of food for child who had mac and cheese these were offered free of charge, considering there was four not exactly as generous offer! Also we received approximately £27
deducted from our bill although this is a gesture, the bill was still over £130 of which as you can plainly was a waste of money, our time, ruined celebration and disappointment.

To add insult to injury we emailed and they didn’t even bother to reply

Planned birthday celebration at Cwrt…

Planned birthday celebration at Cwrt Rawling Pub in Caerphilly.

Table was booked for 11 people, with a request for suitable seating for 2 children aged 7 and 6 who are both autistic. We were celebrating my son's 42nd birthday.
On arrival we found that we were the first to arrive, and on explaining to the barmaid that we had a table booked in the name of Lloyd, she looked somewhat puzzled, and took about ten minutes on her computer to say "yes follow me and you can sit here if you want", leaving myself, my wife and daughter to move four tables to allow us to sit together.

Table was booked for 12 o'clock, everyone had arrived by five past 12, however we had to ask if someone could take our order, that was at half past 12.

Our food started to arrive after another hour, and came in dribs and drabs, I was the last to receive my food and by the time it arrived the first person served had finished eating!

Not one of us enjoyed any of our meals, and no one came to ask if everything was in order.

To say we were totally disappointed is an understatement.

Well below par on all levels of a dining experience.

We will not be returning !

Fisherman's Cot, Bickleigh

What an appalling experience. Table 47 - dining area. Understaffed by inexperienced but somewhat apologetic junior staff for whom I felt some sorrow for. Protracted delays. Cold hot food (replaced with some grace). BBQ'd cauliflower was deep fried and overcooked. Confusion and delays with drinks. All nearby tables were complaining vociferously. Significant senior management issues here. We have been frequent visitors over the years. Less good recently. With regret I am destined never return.

Drive on by

Ordered two fish, chips and peas only to be told after we settled back in our seats that there is insufficient so I ordered cheese, leek and potato pie with peas and chips and a pineapple juice. The only bright light was the delightful Darcey.

It was 10 years ago since we visited and will be along time in the future until we come again.
