Excellent customer relations

There was an issue with an food order, I rang up Marvin.ie and spoke to a genuine down to earth Irish woman (not like the usual robot non nationals in some places) who rectified the issue when I explained the situation.

So I've got to my free meal a couple of …

So I've got to my free meal a couple of months ago with rose garden Chinese but am unable to pay cash on delivery as was per usual and that I could only receive my free meal if I pay by card,(which I do not have) and now i can not order online from my favorite takeaway because the option to pay cash is not available!, Marvin could not do anything about this.

For accounting purposes and for simplicity for the takeaway, we cannot offer bonus meals that exceed their cash value to be settled with cash for the difference. This unfortunately has always been the case and is clear on our FAQ. Thanks again for the feedback.

Ordered from chrysanthemum Chinese. Curry sauce was disgusting, chicken balls were far smaller than any other Chinese I'd eaten in. Got a chicken cashew dish that was literally like a sweaty broth with raw veg and rubber chicken in it. 0/5

Shockingly bad service. So dissappointed

Ordered food through this app tonight for the first time and paid by debit card. Received a phone call shortly from a girl who advised that there had been a ‘technical error’ on their side and the money paid was being returned to the account, but would take up to 5 working days. She advised if we still want the food we will have to reorder it through the app and pay again. I thought this was very strange and concerned, I called back and asked to speak to a manager. Only to be told that the manager only works Monday to Friday and I would have to call back on Monday. Today is Saturday. I explained the situation to the boy on the phone and he reiterated that although the error was indeed on their side and although I would not receive my money back for up to 5 working days - which as today is Saturday could be up to 7 days later, the only thing he could do is offer a 25% discount. Which we had already applied to the previous order that they just rejected, and as such, it is nothing special, definitely not a fitting compensation.

As it stands we have no food and I am out €30. I am shocked at how bad the customer service is. If the error is a fault of the company, which they admitted each time that it was, why am I as the customer being asked to pay twice for this order!?! And why, on a Saturday night is there no manager on site to deal with these errors??? An absolute disgrace , I am so disappointed. And very, very hungry.

Hi Ciara. Thanks for leaving us a review. We're disappointed that we were unable to resolve the issue you had to a faster conclusion. The reserve on your card was removed by us immediately. The delay unfortunately does lie with your bank, and for safety we say please allow 5 working days as it can take that long with some banks. However, in most cases the funds are available again on your account within 48 hours. You wont see a line item, just the balance go back up. This is a standard process for online payments, but we do understand the inconvenience can be frustrating. With regards to the order being cancelled, this was indeed the fault of our system and for that we apologise. We will send an email to you to follow-up and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this whole issue has caused you.
