Useless “locksmith”

I had an awful experience with this locksmith. I was charged a premium rate for what was promised to be a high-security lock, but they installed a cheap imitation that failed soon after. When I contacted them for help, they were uncooperative and dismissive, refusing to fix their own faulty work.

It’s clear they overcharged for substandard materials and don’t stand by their services. I regret trusting them and strongly recommend others stay away and choose a reputable professional instead.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. My mum was locked out and they sent the most intimidating man to her address. Took no time to just hammer out her lock and then charged over £400 and said he wanted more money if she wanted it fixed. Left a 79 year old lady with an insecure premises. DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE SCAMMERS

Don’t touch Masterit Locksmiths Ltd

Don’t touch Masterit Locksmiths Ltd
We certainly wouldn’t give them even 1 star if we could comment without giving stars. We got locked out and were desperate to get back into our house. They were the company that came up first on my iPhone search and so we rang them. We were told that someone would be with us in 15 minutes. An hour and a half later after a further phone call, a so called locksmith arrived. We asked for an estimate and were shocked that we’d have to pay £400. He wouldn't consider picking the lock….something he didn’t waste his time doing. We are elderly and needed to get in. We felt that we had no other choice. He drilled out the existing lock and was very rough. While he tried to pull the rest of the lock out, we could see the door frame buckle. An inferior and incorrect type of lock was fitted that sticks out on one side and is recessed on the other! A cowboy if ever there was! We were just glad to get rid of him..

Appalling

Appalling. Avoid at all costs. I would agree with all the other similar reviews. An extremely rude a d aggressive technician who used bullying tactics on an older and vulnerable female, just discharged from hospital.
Ridiculous overcharge for a very simple job, done very shoddily.

Absolute disgrace in every way.

They are nothing more than an agency for tradesmen, owned and run by a Bulgarian, and I recommend you stay away unless you want to get shafted.
Called them for a non urgent repair to a locking mechanism on a bedroom window for my 90 year old Dad.
An eastern european guy turned up. He looked at the issue, then quoted over £250 just for parts (for a new mechanism which I can buy locally for £65), plus labour and VAT at another £198.00. I can get a whole new window supplied and fitted for less so I declined, and then, because I had no choice, agreed to him fitting a temporary closure (worth about £10).
During the fitting of the closure, he overtightened the fixings with a power drill and cracked both inner and outer panes of the sealed unit. He initially said they were already broken, which they were not, and then changed his excuse to it being cracked due to "cold weather". Basically, an incompetent, lying, thieving cowboy.
I was then presented with a bill for £39 for a callout, £120 to "gain entry" which comprised him ringing the doorbell, and a further £165 plus VAT for less than 1 hour on site and breaking the window. After an argument about the broken window, he generously waived the callout charge, and the "gain entry fee" which should never have been levied in the first place as it relates to gaining access if locked out, which was not the case here. In the end I ended up shelling out £198.00 to get rid of him, and all I got was a diagnosis which took about 5 minutes, a cheap closure and a broken window.
I called the offices of MASTERIT, which is who the contract is with and in whose name the invoice was issued by the cowboy, and they first tried to make me sort this out with the cowboy liar myself, then, when I refused to have him anywhere near the place ever again and explained why in detail, he called me, more than once, obviously because MASTERIT had told him to, and each time denied breaking the glass. Why would I deal with him at all?
After several calls and an email to their offices, I was fobbed off for a week with unfulfilled promises to respond to the email and to get managers to return calls, then today they blocked both my home and mobile numbers. Fortunately, I recorded all the phone calls and email correspondence so they have been Reported to trading standards. absolute scumbags. Avoid.
Id give a minus score if I could.

Avoid Masterit Locksmith Ltd - Terrible Service and Overcharging

I called Masterit Locksmith Ltd because I had a broken lock and couldn't access my property. They charged me a shocking £879 to drill out my lock and install a "high-security" replacement. The locksmith assured me it was a top-quality lock. However, the next day, I discovered the same lock was being sold on Amazon and Screwfix for just £20. They charged me £450 just for the lock, with the rest of the bill covering labour and tax.

To make matters worse, when I contacted other locksmiths to see if I had been overcharged, they confirmed I had been scammed. Several local locksmiths even asked if it was Masterit Locksmith Ltd, and when I confirmed, they were not surprised.

I’ve emailed them multiple times over the last 8 weeks with no response. This company is clearly unethical and unprofessional. STAY AWAY!!
