Consumer Beware of MPR & Nick Weth

Summary: Do not use this company. From the beginning they made everything seem easy peasy but at this point the disrespect and lack of taking responsibility for their poor quality have completely ruined the last couple of months for me.

I hired this company to resurface and retile my pool and I just keep getting further in the hole with things that were their fault, but they continue to tell me “not our problem”. I have had constant communication with the team but have just continued to get messed with.

A list of problems:
1. They broke my motor and I can prove it, yet they won’t take responsibility
2. They washed blue concrete into 10 x 4’ ft of my rocks, ruining them. They ended up pouring Muriatic acid and water all over it to “clean it” but just washed it further into my rocks and made the entire base layer stick to my ground cover with blue concrete.
3. They are slow to respond/make a decision on problems that are urgent (and not that expensive to fix, compared to how much I paid them). They accidentally vapor air locked my motor (breaking it), which was critical to keep the colorant moving in my new pool yet took days to tell me I needed to pay to get it fixed myself.
4. They claim they’ll do prep to protect the rest of your house/pool deck while they work, but then don’t, and say, “you should have done that”. They did technically send me a document explaining this the night before my job was completed. I had to clean for over 50 hours after they got done.
6. They come in with one price but then put a bunch of caveats of risks in that you'll likely encounter (I’ve pretty much hit every single one at this point).

7. Florida Leak Locators Located leak where surface meets plastic at vacuum fitting. It was a total of $345.00 to repair. I emailed MPR before and after I had the leak repaired with no response. The pool now has a big glob of epoxy around that fitting. It would be nice if MPR would come out and fix it properly.

8. In October 2025, after having my pool resurfaced in August by Master Pool Resurfacing (MPR), I contacted them regarding a pool leak. I received no response, so I reached out to Florida Leak Locators for assistance. They discovered a leak at the vacuum intake line caused by concrete not being properly filled in around the valve. Florida Leak Locators applied an epoxy as a temporary fix and advised me to have MPR repair it correctly.
Despite multiple attempts to contact MPR, my messages were ignored. Their workmanship appears substandard, and their customer service is unresponsive and unprofessional.

I hired them because the owner, Nick, has a good reputation in our area but have been appalled at how I’ve been treated. I don’t feel like any of my concerns are “above and beyond” the expectation they set of the service they would provide. My pool is definitely beautiful but the headaches with lack of customer service have made me regret hiring them. I would love to figure out how to settle things with this company but they've made it clear they don't care, and it's extremely frustrating. All right done with my rant. Hire at your own risk. If you made it this far, don’t hire them.
