Superb product and service.

We were delighted to have found Matclad. We went to their site to discuss brick slips for our barn conversion. They could not have been more helpful. We were thrilled to find they make their own brick slips onsite too. Both the product and customer service were excellent. Would highly recommend.

Can’t be trusted

I bought what I thought was cladding and bricks slips . After talking to Neil the owner and being explained how to cut cladding he then took two days to come back to me about the sample of bricks I sent him . When my order arrived, just bricks and no cladding. He ripped me off with a nearly £1800 price for brick slips which I could have bought for £750 . I told him I’m sending them back and he wants to rip me off by charging 15%just to put them back in his yard along with transport cost . This company can’t be trusted . Stay away , other companies are much cheaper and trustworthy.
I just had this Neil the boss reply . Brick bond solutions absolutely a terrific company with great prices and always on the end of a phone , not like Neil. The man is incompetent , you can buy the bricks anywhere even on eBay cheaper than him . There are plenty of cutting services if you can’t get the bricks you want that will cut the bricks for a small fee . I can’t mention by name other companies comments on Matclad , but please don’t take my word for it , ring other companies yourself that do brick slips and cladding and mention there name and see the response you get . Me and my colleague are were stupid for ever trusting a man that you can’t get hold of for days at a time, that should have been sign to us then . Up to you if you him and his company and high prices . My advice go elsewhere.
Another reply , I trusted our conversation where all was talked about most importantly cladding, I then had this man on the phone telling me to press link and pay . I kick myself as I and my colleague trusted this man and got burned. He still sells his bricks slips and nearly double the price nearly £1800 just for slips . Had he had been a decent man instead of a crook he would have rushed to send me the cladding. Stay away is my advice of this company.

Then learn to read quotations Sir.

Hello Lee,

We refute your comments.

You sent an image not samples.

We took the time to identify a product for you (service cost) that would be in keeping with the image (LBC Common).

You were sent a quote which, line by line, detailed the products that were being offered and the terms and conditions were incorporated. If you had read this quotation it did not mention Matclad supplying backing boards.

A 15% restocking fee is applied (as per terms and conditions) to cover administration costs and materials costs (boxes, pallets etc).

I doubt you could buy that product (like for like) for £750. If you can would you be so kind as to tell me where as that would be below the cost of buying the brick direct from the manufacturer.

LBC Common bricks are c. £1.10 each (2 faces from each brick) which is £0.55 material cost and then you have to cut, box and ship the product. You ordered 42 boxes (1260 pieces) so, if you could buy them for £750 that would mean a selling price of £0.59p each... After packaging, labour and shipping that would mean a loss.

In terms of "can't be trusted". My father, Neil, has been elected and served as a local councillor for many years, has acted in good faith in supplying you the product which you were quoted for and has been Director of various multinationals over the decades of his employment.

Kind regards
