I have purchased service at this Mavis Store several times since it opened and have left complementary reviews. My most recent experience was far from satisfactory. Apparently, the store has a new manager whose specialty is high pressure up-selling. The purpose of my visit was installation of new spark plugs. One would assume that gas mileage would improve after a tune up. In this case, it is the same or worse than that produced by the replaced spark plugs with over 105,000 miles on them. I also asked that a very slow leak in one tire be checked. I was told that the leak near the center of the tire tread was an old plug and "could not be fixed". Checking with some professionals, I learned that was false. Being unaware, I agreed to buy two new tires. About a week later, I noticed that the new tires looked worse than my other tires with 45,000 miles on them and didn't resemble what I was shown. I recently was told the tires were probably in the warehouse a long time and dusty. Dust washes off, these tires have been cleaned and still look old and resemble retreads. I was also charged $29.98 for what I am told is a road hazard warranty which is identified on the invoice as Extended Warranty by tread depth. The tires came with a 60,000-mile warranty but I was given no documentation for either warranty. I would also assume that I should have been asked if I wanted the "Extended" warranty but never was.
