I had my car towed in for a flat tire. A new one was all I thought I needed. This was at the Crestwood, Il location. Both the mgr. And employee tols me that I needed a ball joint and arm, clearly stating several times that my car was a safety hazard because they were in pretty bad shape. They said this several times. I belueved them and agreed to the work done. They literally just brought my car back, my mechanic friend told me to stop them immediately, they were scamming me. I tried doing so. They told me the part was already off. In less than 5 minutes???? I told them I wanted the old part back. By this point, they knew I was onto them, mind you. They agreed, but yet, I never got it back. Then, at the end, they told me my rim was a bit bent, bur not bad. They had the audacity to offer their services to repair it. I declined. While I was signing off on it, I was crying at the counter.
Most recent update: last week, I spoke with Ray, the Vp of the training department in the company. After I told him what happened, his voice became very hard, he began cutting me off. He stated I agreed to the repairs, I could have gotten a second opinion at any time and he was definitely not being refunded for anything. I told him if his employees were honest and didnt use fear as a selling tool, I would have. But, when a woman, who knows nothing about cars comes in and is told several times, that a part is in bad shape and a safety hazard, what do they think I will do? He did not care one bit about any of this. He just kept cutting me off, saying I agreed, I could have walked away. THEN, he offered me a 90.00 voucher for any of their locations. Seriously???? To me, that is admission of guilt while not admitting it, and, possibly, to keep my experience quiet.
Mind you, all I was asking for was a refund for the parts I did not need, and half of my days pay that was wasted.
Lastly, I will add that I had my car in for service at my usual place the week before. I spoke with them after Mavis abd they stated the ball joints were checked and were fine, otherwise they would have mentioned it. To further confirm, two other professional mechanics confirmed this was not needed.
Today, since I have the time: I left a written complaint with the BBB. In 40 minutes, I will be calling them. I will be posting updates on the review sites that they cannot take down, and a few other things to bring a lot of attention to these business practices.

I just got my car out of Mavis in Crestwood, IL. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable. I thought I had brake problems and knew I needed tires. They completely checked out my brake system and found nothing wrong. They could have easily sold me any number of problems with the system but simply returned the keys with new tires mounted and said I was good to go. Less than 2 hours spent on what looked like a busy day for them. Just missed a 5 star rating because we seemed to have a bit of misunderstanding. I pulled up on the Mavis web site the Firestone tires I wanted, but they mounted an equivalent Mavis tire. I didn't discover it until I got home. Price was a bit lower (-$100 for 4 tires) so I have no real gripe. Still decent tires.
Noah service is excellent, always happy and willing to help, by going the extra mile and do whatever is needed to ensure the customer leaves satisfied, which ensures I will always comeback. Customer retention and loyalty is what builds a business.

I was at the free air station ready to fill my own tires. The machine was not working. This kind gentleman named Kyle. He said he would take my car in the garage to fill my tires. He was such nice guy had a smile on his face as he took care of my tires. Very pleasant. Thank you for hiring good people like him.
I VISITED MAVIS TIRES & BRAKES ON MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2025. I NEEDED AIR IN MY TIRES AND THE METAL CAPS WERE FROZEN/RUSTED TO THE STEMS. KYLE, THE DESK MANAGER WAS SPOT ON, 100% PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE! KYLE KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS IMMEDIATELY AND SERVICED MY VEHICLE RIGHT AWAY! STARS FOR KYLE! MIGUEL WAS THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT REPLACED MY STEMS AS A PROFESSIONAL! THANK YOU TO BOTH KYLE AND MIGUEL!
I was over charged for a break job and not refunded the money I was overcharged for
Scheduled an appointment online that came with an ‘online only’ discount. Scheduled for 10am but the appointment was rescheduled by Mavis for 11am which was fine. I showed up for my appointment and was told the alignment guy called off sick. I asked why they didn’t give me a courtesy call and let me know? The manager said (I’m assuming manager, he was in a white shirt) the appointments are made by some guy in New York not us. I said ‘but you knew I was coming and my appointment was even rescheduled to a later time by the store’. He started jabbering on about how it’s not his fault etc and i said well it certainly isn’t my fault and all I’m saying is a courtesy call to cancel me would’ve been nice. Then he tells me to ‘f*** off’ and leave. If that’s how they talk to customers I’d be afraid to let them touch customers cars. This place has really gone to the dumps since Mavis took over NTB. I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere.
