No service no text no call 👎🏻

Had an appointment for 4pm so I dropped my truck off at 3:30pm and was told should be ready 1.5 hrs. I came back at 5:30 and nothing was done mind you they close at 6pm. No service no text or call to say something absolutely terrible. Don’t waste your time they suck.

Amazing quick service and follow up

Amazing quick service and follow up. They answered my call and didn't put me on hold. Very fair pricing and got the needed repair done after diagnosing my tire issue. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous and unlike most shops that I have visited they have a good personality and easy to talk to. Thank you for a very positive experience.

Doors opened at 7:59. Shaun checked me in (my appointment was at 8:00 am), verified some info and confirmed what service my car needed. Shaun was professional and very nice. The mechanic worked on my car and I was done by 8:45.

Friendly and helpful

The sevice was easy to check in especially when you have a peson like kevin in the front desk working . He was very friendly , knowledgeable and the most important thing is the skills all the way untill the check out

Thieves, Not Mechanics

On September 9th, I bought a rear passenger tire from the Westbury, NY Mavis Discount Tire location at 885 Old Country Road in Westbury, NY. I had a contentious conversation with the desk rep about when the tire could be worked on. This was not unusual with him. He NEVER gives a straight answer and appointment days and times mean nothing to him. Because of this conversation, I did not purchase the warranty, basically because I didn't want to talk to him and I forgot it. That should never be the experience. I believe the manager (another mechanic) was aware of the conversation (just a feeling).
When they installed the tire, the manager inflated it to 38 lbs instead of the 32 lbs normally done. Why? My concern is that some foul play was done by the manager. On October 12th, my check tire pressure indicator light came on. After checking each tire, I found the new tire had only 25 lbs of air. I went to Mavis to get it looked at. When I got there, none of the personnel who was there previously was in attendance. In fact, it was just a new front desk person and NO ONE ELSE HAD SHOWN UP! The company had to call in replacements. When someone came in (a replacement) the person said as small nail was in it. Out of all the tires I have, THAT tire gets a nail in it? Quite a coincidence along with the inflation up to 38 lbs.
On top of that, they charged me to fix the tire I bought 1 MONTH AGO!
On October 29th, I came out to my car, started it and the "check tire pressure" indicator light went on. In disbelief I checked my tires and much to my shock, IT WAS THE SAME TIRE I BOUGHT IN SEPTEMBER THAT THEY CLAIM HAD A HOLE IN IT WHICH THEY FIXED!!!! I headed down to put air in the tire (which was down to 12 lbs) and headed BACK to Mavis. To my shock and horror, who was behind the desk? Not the guy who was there the last two times I came, but the guy I had a contentious conversation with when I got the tire installed.
HE is the reason I did not get a warranty or insurance on that last tire. (I get them on all my tires). Why? Because he never gives a straight answer to a question AND he is argumentative. Look, if you have a system that asks what time you want to bring your car in to be worked on, one would assume this means that the car should be worked on near that time. Not with him. He lives in a world that there is no real time they will work on the car. We can't even approximate, why? Because he doesn't want to. Since having the problems I had with him, I went on Yelp and found similar complaints as well as attempts to up sell services instead of dealing with the issue the person comes to the shop for. 

Anyway, I tell him what is going on, that the tire was down to 12 lbs this morning. He tells me he'll find out what is going on.
When he next speaks to me, he claimed there was some damage on the side of the tire. First off, I am very particular with my car because my wife bought it for me as a holiday present and I am very fond of it. Second, I would know if I damaged it. When asked why he thought that, he claimed well maybe I was too close to a curb or something. That was made up and not true. 

He invited me back to look at the tire. He takes back what he said was wrong with it, claiming he “misspoke”. Then he shows me bubbles coming out of the tire when placed in water. So I assume he is showing me a hole. By the way, with the amount of bubbles coming up, how did I drive 2 miles to get to that location without it going flat again?

Then he shows me the middle of the tire, WHICH THEY INSTALLED IN SEPTEMBER and said that Mavis policy does not allow them to fix a tire with this kind of damage. (WHAT DAMAGE ???) I saw absolutely no damage AND what policy is there that would not allow Mavis to patch a tire with a hole in it? So basically, he is trying to tell me I'm buying a new tire because of Mavis's "policy".
When you disagree with him, he starts going back and forth with you. By this time, I had had enough and told him, I don't want to argue with him, I just want a tire if he had it in stock. I walked away and went to the counter because I was too angry to be civil anymore. 

Realizing I was upset, he gives me to another guy, who I suppose is the new manager, who looks up the tire and tells me the price. I found it funny that he asked me about purchasing a warranty since the only reason I did not have one on the last tire was because the other guy was giving me such a hard time. I purchased the new tire and left, deeply upset and vowing never to return to this location.
From what I saw, there was no visible damage to that tire they claimed was damaged. It was yet another ruse by them to extract more money from me and frankly, I feel the front desk guy was very much behind it. I would like my money back. I feel they made me pay close to $500.00 for what should have been just a $250.00 regular purchase. I have been driving for 50 years. I have bought lots of tires. No tire I have ever owned has gone back after ONE MONTH.
