I was told by a doctor to go a Labcorp…

I was told by a doctor to go a Labcorp for testing on a potential illness Monday. She told me to go as soon as possible so I can set up a follow up appointment the following day, but did not send the order out for the testing until exactly 15 minutes after they closed. I go to the Labcorp the next day, get my testing through my insurance, but the Labcorp takes me down for a 143 dollars if my insurance can’t cover it, even though I, of course, have insurance or I would not have been able to talk to my provider and my insurance was on the order but I am in pain, so I just put my card down for it. I try to make an appointment, a wellness appointment as the doctor told me to, and the next appointment for her is not until the following week, BUT if you pay an additional 20 dollars again, you can speak with her today. I called MD LIVE because that was actually the most ridiculous thing i’ve ever seen in my life, and they confirmed it. I could have avoided all of this if I just went to Urgent Care, but they advertise this as being convenient. I’m down 160 dollars might be 180 if the pain persists, and I haven’t even got the prescription and that doesn’t even include what I pay for my insurance. I will never go this route with MD Live ever again.

Not doing this again

Not doing this again. I requested an appointment today for tomorrow with MD live. I live in Arizona so when I requested the time, and said I was in Arizona, which does not participate in time change, I expect my 4:00 pm to be Arizona time. I got a text message which said 4:00 pm Mountain, which will now be 3:00 p Arizona time. I will be at another appointment at that time because I have good time management. I called to request this change to move said MD Live appointment from 4:00 MDT/3:00 AZ to 5:00 MDT/4:00 AZ but was told I need to pay a $50 fee to cancel the appointment to reschedule for an hour later…because my appointment is within the 24 hr time limit. I don’t want to cancel, I want to postpone because your webpage doesn’t know the difference between Arizona time vs the rest of the U.S. seasonal time change. No service for me, no more money for them. Adios-

Pretty bad experiences

I have MDLive as part of my medical insurance and have for some time. I used some of the therapists, or tried to affiliated with them. Therapists, most of them are pretty bad as a whole, they went into that profession for a reason. I have PTSD that I would haven liked to work with someone with, over the Internet would have been fine.
However,, these are some of the worst and least professional "therapists" I've ever dealt with. One of the first, had an electrician he was dealing with during our scheduled appointment, and this woman who I had run inside my house to get situated with from outside, after almost being run over by a car, was a kind of paranoid, who wrote really condemning things about me in her notes. She was critical of me during our session about my intentional not setting up the lighting and getting out of my chair, as if I was doing that intentionally, as I was trying to turn on appropriate lights and setting the sound on my PC. The last therapist I had never revealed his whole face to me, all I saw were his eyes, that was enough of that. Besides the "mental health" aspect of MDLive.com, you might get a physical MD that can write you a prescription for a stomach ache or something, but I've had experiences where they didn't call me when they were scheduled. Best of luck.

I just got off the phone with a rep about the Jan. 27, 2026 response they've given, though he did look into re-registering me, I'm not eligible (they've blocked it). The reason for my call as they requested wasn't discussed ("please call us to discuss the experience.").

Don't use this system! See a provider in person

Prescription was not sent to the pharmacy until I had to call back and find out why. The provider I spoke to agreed to give me a note for work excusing me for 2 days since I did not know how the medication prescribed would affect me due to the possible side affects. The note I received was for only 2 hours and I was told their policy was to only allow notes for 2 hours. But the nurse who advised me of this could not tell me where I could view that policy. Don't waste your time and go see a provider in person. This whole experience has made my anxiety worse, not better!

Fyi Transplant recipients

If you are a transplant patient do not call MDLive for cold/flu symptoms. They will take your copay and then the doctor will tell you since you are a transplant patient I can’t help you. Complete waste of your time and money.

Paid $63 for a 3-minute phone call in which they said to go urgent care. Where I got to pay a second copay all over again. You cannot trust MDLive to provide you with health services and are likely to pay twice and spend just as much time sitting in a doctor/urgent care/ER waiting room.

Can't Actually Prescribe Birth Control as Advertised

I decided to use this service because there was an option to get birth control. So I paid the $48 fee and got an appointment quickly. However the provider without asking me anything pertinent other than have I ever been on birth control before, told me they cannot actually write a prescription for birth control. I call customer service to get a refund because they could not provide the service they said they could and was told because in the couple minutes that the provider spoke with me he told me I had to go see a doctor that I could not be refunded. What? That's robbery. What a scam.

Dr. Laura Wade

I saw Dr. Laura Wade, MD, who set me back 1-2 weeks in getting help. Would not listen to what I was saying, or exaggerated what I said. She sent me to a crisis line, who also agreed I was fine. They sent me back to MD call center, I could barely understand the rep, and he scheduled me with the wrong type of Dr. Now, I have to wait two more weeks for an appointment. All because I had a bad reaction to the original medication.

What was supposed to be routine turned into an hour long telephone game of getting passed to three different people

HORRIBLE!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!

HORRIBLE!!! On February 22, 2025 and February 24, 2025 I had appointments with MD live for a note to excuse a work absence. They will not give doctors notes that extend more than two days past the phone call, so that's why I had to call a second time. I GOT THEIR PHONE NUMBER FROM THE BACK OF MY INSURANCE CARD!!!!! For 30 days after the appointments, I received numerous emails that I needed to verify my insurance to avoid being billed. I called MD live on 4 separate occasions and I was reassured on every phone call that I would not be billed for anything. On the 5th phone call, I had Blue Cross Blue Shield call on a three-way call to inform MD live that I am, in fact, insured by Blue Cross and I have $0 co-pay. The appointments should've cost me nothing. MD live assured Blue Cross and me on the three-way call that I would be billed for nothing. Today they billed me $180 for the 2 2 minute phone calls in February. I called MD live to dispute the charges and I was told that it would take 45 days to get a refund. 45 DAYS!!!! I requested to speak with a supervisor and I was put on hold. After 10 minutes on hold I hung up. I will have to try back again!! Had I just gone to my regular doctor, I would've been billed nothing!!!! Do not use this service!!!!!

Waste of a Co-Pay

This was my second time using MDlive and both times was a waste. Dr’s are dismissive and act like they know what’s wrong with you instead of what you tell them. First experience I had a sinus infection. Instead of an antibiotic he prescribes me an allergy medicine. In all of my 46 yrs Earth side an allergy med has never worked for me. I know when I have a sinus infection yet he didnt listen. My sinus infection and pain grew worse till I went to urgent care to get the antibiotic I asked for. Send time was for strep. I told him I also test positive for influenza A. He proceeded to tell me influenza A can cause white bumps in back of throat and its rare to have a strep diagnosis on top of Flu A. He prescribes me oral lidocaine but no antibiotic. Of course 2 days later Im in urgent care got swabbed for strep and its positive. I hate Dr’s that dont trust you or listen to what you're saying. This tele-health is a rip off and waste of time. I want my money back!!

They can't seem to figure out how to do anything other than charge my cc

I have been very happy with the telemedicine, actually. However, they cannot seem to bill my insurance so have been charging my credit card for visits - I'm sure that is much easier for them. No help calling either - won't use again as a result. Major hassle!

awful service

awful service, waited in the video chat for 10 mins for the doctor and then someone dropped off the call, it's the second appointment this has happened, called the customer service line, some lady with a bad attitude answered, took the information, said someone will call back within 30 mins, no one called, I already paid for this appointment, the doctor apparently coded the visit as a no show. unreal, I am now trying to communicate with this company via chat, but no one is answering. find a different method to visit a doctor, this one service is terrible

Absolute off shore-built GARBAGEware…

Absolute off shore-built GARBAGEware (web-based system). It's not that it doesn't assumedly meet their software requirements. I assume it does. It's the requirements - decisions made by their digital Product Manager - that are the problem. The navigation is simple. But the information architecture (organization) and features are useless, when you just want to make an appointment with your LOCAL PCP. New tabs everywhere why? Can't make an appointment in Appointments why? Can't view or make appointment with PCP in My Care Team why? I could go on and on and on. Why why why why!! It's beyond disregard or disrespect for the end user (healthcare patient), at a certain point. It's abuse!

Video and call connectivity problems

Video telehealth appt. kept "blacking out". Next visit tried phone and again the connection was off and on. Very frustrating. Made another appt. said only video was available, but video test wasn't working. Tried Chat to resolve and Chat was too busy and unavailable. This company has too many IT issues.

I had an urgent care video appointment…

I had an urgent care video appointment today with Dr. Carolyn Joy Steele, DO. She was rude and condescending through the whole appointment, she pretty much outright accused me of pill seeking, questioning whether or not I was in a blizzard and if you look at the weather: I was, why was that important to her to question that issue? Even looking around and making comments I'm not in a blizzard, she defiantly is not from Colorado, why I have not seen a doctor and I explained to her what was going on and she did not like my answers. Told me that the issue I though was causing me so much pain, nothing could be done, and you can't know where it came from, then later made a statement that it might be something else and I should get blood work.  I get that she told me to go to urgent care, I live in a rural area and in a blizzard, I could not make it to urgent care. Was told you guys do not do blood work, not according to your website? I also understand that video appointments are limited but I should not be arguing with the doctor about the whole appointment. I would like to know this service, so it she gets the review she deserves. And the review that you as service deserve.

Used it for a dermatologist service

Used it for a dermatologist service. No live call or anything. Sent photos to Doctor and doctor will give prescription. The doctor didn't answer all my questions in the chat and just gives very short 1 line answer. I am pretty sure I have exfoliative cheilitis as my symptoms all met. I asked if I have that condition, doctor completely ignored the question and gave diagnosis of dermatitis. I also asked what sun block for my lip I can use, he also ignored that question. This whole service costs me $95, honestly not much cheaper than an in office visit. Will never use it again

Over booked with low quality providers

Tried three times. When we scheduled a doctor of our choice, they keep you waited online for over 45 minutes then disconnect you then cancel your appointment. Twice! When we let them assign the next available doctor, the doctor is extremely impatient, is clearly outdoor walking using his phone camera for the call, could not see what we show him on the screen, the whole visit was done in 3 minutes and send us away.
