If they don't like what you write they send suggestions to your email address about content in opposition to what you say in your content, for example they will send a suggestion about the topic "wasting time" or other specific topics which are clearly tendentious basing on your contents (also since it happens regularly), so I do the same x20 times more than they do. Since their spamming is a lot and email became daily full of these things, I not only ignored them but I had to block their address, now their suggestions go directly to the spam section. Also, they uselessly try to manage content as they wish, but truth can not be stopped and anyway acting like this makes a website not popular. Another thing I don't like about this website is that if you sign in and you have to be away from keyboard for a little bit the access time expires way too quickly, I mean they may extend that time, it's not that a person has to hurry for a quick bathroom time if not wanting to reinsert the address and check link again.

The perfect platform for those who like to write.
Medium is not for those who want to earn a living. The recent changes have made the distribution of money amongst writers much more honest. This of course made some writers who used to earn a disproportional amount angry.

I've read and written on Medium for 4 years but quit today. If you're a trans person, you'll absolutely love the site and find oodles of articles about how glorious it is to be trans. If you write something that is even the tiniest bit critical of trans folks, your article will be suspended. Authors can write all the hate in the world toward Christians, White people, Republicans, and Trump supporters but not a word critical of trans people and their indoctrination of little children.

This platform has become a virtual wasteland. Full of AI and bots as management has driven away all the authentic writers by mistreating them. It was a decent platform at one time...but not anymore! If you are a writer, there are much better options than Medium. The management devalues writers and is completely missing in action.

What has happened to Medium? I have been writing on Medium, on and off, for a number of years, but recently, since the 'flood of bots' and the action taken by the management, things have got even worse. Emails to the support team go unanswered. Dates suggested by those at the top by which we will be told what is going on are missed without explanation. The majority of subscribers believe that the platform is in a dire state.
If you are thinking of paying your $5 per month to join I'd advise holding off until we find out what on earth is going on.

Medium becomes a scam now! O paid the membership fee, then they sent link to request pay againl! I contact support , no respond!

For 5 dollars you get to read some great writing on many subjects. It is a supportive community for writers as well and is a fantastic starting point for trying your hand at writing.

Long story short they omitted crucial information in an email to trick me into paying a fee. Lazy and unethical and unresponsive, too. Terrible service.

If I could give Medium a 0 I would. I initially joined their paid programs to read articles I was really interested in and since I have a love for writing too I decided to give it a try and write a few articles there. I put my heart and soul to everything I writ, only to find that they revoked my account for no reason at all except for me violating something which they refuse to say. They don’t even have a real person respond. They only sent a generic email to read the rules. What a horrible customer support. Seems like this happens a lot on Medium and it’s a shame they treat people this way. Also after a month of reading articles it seems that all you see are articles where people are trying to sell you something. There is no authenticity in the writing. I deleted my account. There are so many other platforms out there that treat people with kindness and respect.

Medium is an online platform which is designed for writers to showcase their talent, share their stories, build readership, and create a community of people who cherish their work and give feedback. It is one of the best platforms for writers, especially beginner writers, to start their journey.
It is also a great place for readers to learn new things and get in touch with their favorite writers in real time. There are as many topics as one can think of. One can customize what they should be shown which is my personal best option on Medium.
But wait a minute, they also pay you on Medium. With Medium Partnership Program, writers can get paid for their stories. Some writers make hundreds on dollars on Medium which is a great incentive for many to keep publishing quality content on the platform.
One thing that I don't appreciate is the increasing assault of AI generated content on Medium. Hundreds of such articles are being published every day and thousands of people are just there for reciprocal activities in hopes of earning a few bucks. Although the moderators are doing an excellent job at filtering and terminating such practices but it's not enough to keep a well balanced environment. This can sometimes lead to frustration due to which I'm giving Medium 4 stars out of 5.
It's worth the time if you want to learn, explore, and interact with some of the best minds from around the globe.

absolutely terrible. they say "make an account to read the article for free!" and then you make an account, and then tell you you have to pay to read the article...what?? they LIE to you to get people to make an account to boost their ratings. plus, why would anyone pay to read a low-level article when there are an infinite number of free news sites and papers, anyways?? stupid.

I originally signed up for Medium and paid the premium fee because of the content that appealed to me- science, technology, psychology, leadership, self improvement, etc. Then the election happened and 90% of my feed is how screwed up America is for putting Trump into office. I can get that type of drivel for free from lots of other sources. Not only did I cancel my premium subscription, but I flagged the daily email as spam. Medium will go the same way as major news networks and then, I guess, blame the ignorant readers for abandoning them

I stopped my subscription to Medium a few years ago for whatever reasons. But I am still recovering emails from Medium. I have tried to unsubscribe. Every time I clicked on Unsubscribe, it got me to the app. And I would be asked to check at least three topics I like and kept going. It seems to me this is a never ending cycle of subscription. Why Medium made it so difficult and painful for me to unsubscribe???!!! That just makes me dislike Medium more and regret the signing up at the first place.

They dont provide author support or resources video, music or podcat uploads and they have seven subs.

Not a serious platform just predatory hacks offering nothing but an of the shelf website and nothing else.

Worthless scam of a website for all involved.

The website makes you pay for utterly worthless documents that, frankly, seem to be just AI slop with effective tagging and titles. What's worse, it's a website that wants you to pay for what users read.

After Vocal Media kept accusing me of using Ai to write my stories, which is incredibly insulting, I switched to Medium.com

I was immediately impressed.

Whenever I publish a story, it's instantly posted...no reviews. The constant reviews and rejections on Vocal Media took the joy out of writing.

I can edit and add images easy. I'm so glad I switched. Medium is definitely a writer friendly site.

I joined Medium because I thought it was a real media outlet, and I was wrong! Yesterday I received an email telling me that my account had been deleted for violation of some policy. I wrote to ask what material violated what policy, and received a bland, pro-forma response saying they had reconsidered the matter, which was now at an end. I still have no idea what the issue was. This is not only amateur, but it is a complete violation of the principles of natural justice. I'm off to a real media site, like Substack...
