Medium promotes a superficial notion that you must constantly strive to improve yourself, but in reality, it's a platform driven by capitalist agendas. Its recycled content and conformity-driven algorithms limit diverse voices and fail to acknowledge that it's okay not to always be in a state of self-improvement.

I love the ease of sharing your article on WhatsApp status from the medium app.

Most of the writing I see are just spammy salesletters. You are paying to be spammed. Make sure you cancel before you automatically renew. I have.

False advertising, promises to let you read content after logging in, but then still makes you pay first.

They make you sign in with your Google account and still require you to sign up again and pay to view the content. False advertisement and something I have vene experienced on any other site.

This company is a fraud. They promote a site called "7 black sheep apps..." but won't reveal them until you pay. That is extortion and this company needs to be taken down. I will report this to InterNic and the FCC.

Medium terminated my account without notice. Yes, I read their "rules" and knew they had that option. However, I had everything backed up so no loss there. My posts on Medium were more of a test than anything. Medium failed the test. The people who operate Medium hold to an extreme Leftist ideology and wholeheartedly embrace censorship. Do yourself a favor and deactivate your Medium account and move over to Substack. You'll be glad you did.

I was a member of Medium for approximately six months until I was suspended today without any explanation.

During my time on Medium I received a cryptic warning from Medium for 'Not disengaging with users' which I believe means 'Don't have an opinion, even a polite one, that will upset people'.

Another warning because I said "I don't really care about or think gender identification is that important' which they classified as hate speech. This is clearly not hate speech. It is a personal opinion that I hold about gender identity but expresses no hate or even dislike for any person or group. Ironically while I don't personally think its important I do actively support those who chose to identify as other than their born assigned gender.

Today my final warning and suspension was because I replied to an article about how men are all evil because of the 'Patriarchy'. I was challenged by the author to provide evidence of my position, I provided the data and link and was blocked and apparently she reported me and I was then banned from Medium. Oddly the data and link I provided was from a US government website and I added no other information or comment other than that data and website.

When posting or providing content I always attempt to be polite and respectful however I do have opinions which do not conform to the narrative that men are evil and women are good which is very prevalent on Medium. While I do challenge this narrative I do so using peer reviewed research from mainstream sources.

While Medium is a good platform for publishing it has an enormous amount of content which is hateful towards the male gender and towards Caucasian people and attempting to rebut that content will likely end with warnings and an eventual ban.

The site is filled with glitches, the app is barely functional, they removed the avatar heads from the top of the page so nobody can find their favorite writers new work easily, they removed the edit/write function from their mobile app, to the detriment of many/most (edited to add they recently returned this function, after about 6 months of complaints). They punish anyone who doesn't write about them in glowing terms, they distribute a small, favoured few, and ignore good writing in favor of clickbait. It's a good place to practice writing, and if you want a hundred self help articles on how to earn thousands writing (but not on Medium where you'll only ever earn a few dollars). They're heavily biased in favor of identity politics and doom merchants, not much in the way of nuanced pieces or both sides of any debate. Probably still worth the 5 bucks a month if you can dig down deep and find the good writers, but you have to mute about half the site to find them.

I commented, noting Russia hoax, impeachment 1 and 2, massive vote drops of 150K - 300K not investigated and Jan 6 disruption stopping election fraud discussion. One person clapped; another called me a fascist without responding to my comment details. Medium suspended my comment without explanation per the details. Clearly a left-wing site. If you worship Big O, honest Biden and bash orange man, you are wonderful.

Medium has been wantonly confiscating earnings by suddenly banning accounts and keeping all the cash, without warning, clear explanations, and attempts to resolve any perceived issues. From reviews I have read, there are apparently many victims. That's very unethical and unprofessional for a global platform. There are fortunately many other alternatives out there and time should be better spent with more ethical companies.
