Up to the surgery date-each and everyone was really kind and helpful. I did a huge research on the ICL technique and asked some technical questions, which were fully answered by the surgeon. The nurse and reception were also great (clinic in Gothenburg).

After the surgery - overall good, but they were less engaging and helpful. The 1 week check up found that one eye was slightly myopic (0.5), but there was no discussion on what happens next, the alternatives, etc.
The last check up was today and one eye is only -0.25, which is great. Hakan was really helpful and reassuring.

So overall I recommend memira. They could only improve a bit more the service after surgery (from good to great).

After I booked an appointment (needed to answer their "survey") they contacted me, asked the same questions from the survey and without seeing me canceled my appointment allegedly because i have high myopia. this says about their low quality and not customer-oriented approach.

I cannot at all recommend this clinic. I had my eyes lasered (FS-Lasik) in 2012 (Malmö). While I was happy with the result in the beginning despite now facing issues with dry eyes (which is a common side effect), I can not say that I am now. I am again short-sighted - need glasses/contact lenses (-2.25 both eyes) and my eye sight keeps getting worse. When I spoke to my ophthalmologist (not from Memira) about it, she was very surprised since it is apparently super rare that after laser surgery, one becomes near-sighted again. She thought that it was probably due to the eyesight not having stabilized enough/my eyeball was not fully grown when the laser surgery was done (which she told me is usually around 25). I had the surgery when I was 24.5. I wish the doctors would have told me that I should wait one or two more years so that we can be sure that everything is stable, but they were more concerned with earning money apparently. So now I had laser surgery and suffer from dry eyes (which I did not before) and I need glasses again and my near-sightedness is getting worse. So as you can see, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic.

Update re Memira’s reply:
I did contact Memira in 2018 when my eyesight noticeably deteriorated. This was of course outside the period where one could get the free touch-up and I was told that I could have laser surgery again (paying for it myself of course). I did not want to have laser surgery again, firstly because the first one already appeared to not have worked the way it should have and I did not think that the outcome would have been any better and so it was definitely not worth the risk.
To Memira’s point of checking the stability of the vision, I am not sure how thoroughly that was done in my case and I would have wished that a more conservative approach had been taken. So I can only advise others to consult various doctors to see whether they are agreeing that laser surgery would be suitable in your case. Preferably one should check with a doctor who has no interest in selling you a laser surgery. That’s at least what I would do…
To Memira’s point, that in some cases touch up would be needed, that was communicated, at least as far as I remember, only in regard to the fact that they cannot guarantee that your eyesight will be perfect. Put differently, that even after laser surgery one might end up with -0.25 or -0.5. However, there is a huge difference between ending up with -0.25 or -0.5 or even -1 compared to more than -2 and deteriorating vision and hence needing glasses again. Had I known that I would end up with glasses again after laser surgery I would certainly not have opted for this surgery. I very much regret that I had my eyes lasered.

Sadly, felt like a waste of time visiting them. Thoroughly disappointed with experience. I can only assume that they close at 16:00 on Saturdays as they positively rushed me through my booked time.

The initial tests were done by a very pleasant colleague. He did seem to be rushing everything to completion but he was definitely the highlight of the staff.

The receptionist came across as slightly cold which may not be the best for first contact.

After the initial tests, I was called into discuss the findings. The findings were ....zero. It was explained that after doing the tests, there is nothing wrong with my eye which would cause the problem of blurred vision. This was explained to me in a very short and blunt manner. I honestly didn't feel like there was much chance in discussing how I go further with my sight issue. I can appreciate if something isn't found but if a customer has made an effort to visit due to having a degrading vision, it usually means they are there for help. The advice I was given was wrong prescription - it has been double checked by two separate (and competing) optician stores. The other was diabetes. When I said that I will try and book a time with a doctor, the optician was confused as to why I would do that.

On my way out, the pleasant colleague asked if it was resolved and I explained that there was nothing found. His response was "that's good then". I explained that I still have blurred vision in one eye though with no answers. He obviously wasn't so sure what to say.

I work within healthcare and this entire interaction was truly weird. Not very open for the customer to want to ask questions and felt more about processing quickly before the day ends.

Hello, I am now 34 years old, and I decided that living with glasses was something I did not want to do for the rest of my life (although I understand that when I get older I will need reading glasses anyways).

My life revolved too much around glasses. I needed glasses for doing normal things, like driving, shopping, doing sports; the worse was at work; due to my job, I not only had my normal pair of prescription glasses, and my prescription sunglasses, but I also carried with me prescription safety glasses and prescription safety sunglasses... unreal. Four pairs of glasses in my pockets.

It was enough. I contacted memira and they ran a free checkup. They mentioned that my problems could be corrected by the FSLasik type of surgery. The optometrist (optician?) talked a bit about what I could expect and possible outcomes, both good and bad, as well as risks associated with the surgery, like infections, etc,. as well as the likelyhood of those ocurring.
The nurses and surgeon at the clinics were very professional and performed the surgery quickly and painlessly, although there is some intense discomfort that could feel painful to some people, since there is a surgical device pressed against your eyeball for a few seconds. They put drops in your eyes to reduce this sensation and they give you a bit of some calming medicine before the surgery.

Rememeber that I am just describing why I did this surgery, how it felt to me, and the things I remember more vividly. Always ask and listen to what the nurses, doctors and staff tell you at the clinic, they are the experts :)

Regardless, I am very happy with the result: shortsightedness and astigmatism were corrected.
I no longer need glasses.
I experienced some blurry vision during the first week while I had to apply drops to my eyes but then it went away.
I can now see better than I did with glasses before. Slightly better, but I can tell the difference.

I can drive, I can do sports, and I can work without glasses (I still use safety glasses at work when needed, but if they get a scratch I can simply get another pair, whereas when I got a scratch on my safety prescription glasses it was not so easy and I had to live with scratched glasses for a while)

If I want to kiss a loved one now, I no longer drive my glasses into their eyes, because I wear none.

It was a very smooth process. I wish I knew before how fast and painless the procedure would be, no nervousness needed! The only negative thing I have to say is that i felt like the receptionist in my local office really was trying to sell me the procedure even though i told her I wasn’t sure yet. She even called and tried convincing me with discount. I needed like 6 months before I was ready to make a decision. I wish she would respect thr answer the first time. I actually made me go to another city so I wouldn’t have to deal with her.

They switched to English as i said my Swedish was not the best. The staff was very helpful and nurse explained all the procedures and details of treatment. I was provided with the best information and advice. The surgeon was very good and it was a successful operation. Now I have normal vision as before and I can contact them for 5 years in case of any future need. Excellent service. Thanks again for your help

I was super happy with how professional and welcoming everyone was (even after I paid my bill). They really know that people are very worried about getting operations on their eyes and therefore make you feel very safe.

Any kind of question I had was answered in details. I was also happy that I could always switch to English when I did not feel comfortable with my Swedish.

Because of this, I pretty much knew what is going to happen on the day of the operation (which did not even take 10min)

Of course there are cheaper places, but one always questioned why those prices are so low. Once I visited a Memira Eyecenter, I was sure that the price I pay is not wasted - the feeling of security is worth so much.

I had an amazing experience, a colleague highly recommended Memira to me for the eye surgery. The whole process is real easy with them, they share all needed information and support before and after the surgery . The surgery day went really smooth. A few days after, I was experiencing some discomfort - a blurry sight on one eye and they admitted me instantly (just needed stronger gel drops that made a huge difference). Did the surgery in March, now in July I see perfect!!

I consulted with several eye clinics in Stockholm prior to deciding which company I would choose for my FS-LASIK operation. Memira at the time was the most expensive option in Stockholm for FS-LASIK. However, I chose to do the procedure with Memira because I found that they were very professional and I had a great impression of them after the consultation. The staff members and doctors were all extremely professional and kind. The clinics (both the Täby and Stockholm city clinics) were very clean and accessible. Memira also offered a student discount which factored into my decision. Despite there being a clinic that offered to do the FS-LASIK procedure for around half the price that Memira offered, I am very glad that I chose Memira in the end.

I got the procedure done around 3 months ago with Dr. Urban Schönbeck at the Stockholm city location. The surgery itself was very quick. I was in the operating room with the doctor and the assistant for 5-6 minutes and then I was let out into a recovery room for around half an hour where I spent some time sitting and recovering. The surgery itself was painless. You do feel some slight pressure on your eye, but it isn't painful. It's more mildly irritating for a few seconds and then its over.

After I got home, I did feel some slight stinging pain in my eye for two hours but the medicine that Memira provided made the pain very manageable. After those two hours I felt no pain at all anymore. I was able to go out with my partner and eat dinner just four hours after the procedure!

It's now been over three months since the procedure. My eyesight during the day and indoors is fantastic. It's better than 20/20 (100%) and I was told its close to 150%. I definitely see better during the day than I did with glasses before. At night my vision is also quite good, but not as good as during the day. I was told that this will improve over time and it definitely has been getting better. I definitely still feel comfortable driving at night. Overall I am very pleased with my vision.

I didn't have any major complications. For the first 2 weeks after the surgery I had dry eyes but after that I didn't need to use eye drops any more.

To summarize, I think that Memira is an excellent eye clinic and I am very happy that I chose to do my FS-LASIK operation here. I highly recommend them to anyone wishing to get a LASIK operation done!

I had trifocal lenses surgery 4 years ago and that was one of the best things I have done. I do see better than ever and I have better sight than a normal person.

ICL surgery
I had the surgery one year ago. The surgery has made that I am more sensitive to light and experience dryness in my eyes. But this doesn't weigh up against all the positives. I had around -8 and -4.5 and always needed either contacts or glasses to go through life. Now I wake up in the morning and can see everything clearly from the moment I wake up. It's been a huge improvement in my daily life. It's easier in the gym, it is easier when doing sports. I am never afraid to lose a lens any more or forget my glasses when traveling.
