Terrible service, they are just trying to get money from you as much as possible
Read their contracts that are on purpose written with the font to be seen via magnifying glass only
And to cancel the contract, make sure to go their shops, like very old school style, otherwise nothing is going to be canceled and you will fill their pockets with penalty fees

Writing this review because it’s the second time I’ve received terrible customer service from MEO.
First, when I signed up for home internet and mobile, the connection kept dropping for weeks. Their technician came several times but didn’t solve it and seemed unqualified—he kept unplugging my Apple TV instead of fixing the Wi-Fi. I work from home, so this caused major disruption, and when I tried to cancel, they refused because two weeks had already passed.
Now again, I ordered an iPhone online, paid in full, and received no delivery confirmation. After calling multiple times, I was told different stories each time—first that it would ship next week, then that delivery would take a month, and refunding would also take a month. They still haven’t confirmed anything or replied to my cancellation request.
I strongly recommend choosing another provider or vendor.

1. Phone Purchase Issue
I made a purchase on their website for a phone that was advertised with 3-day delivery. However, I never received any information about a delay. They charged my account €1,400 immediately, even though the phone wasn’t in stock.
After 7 days, I called to ask about the delivery and was told they couldn’t provide an answer because the item was out of stock. It’s not legal to take payment before shipping the product. I cancelled the order, but now I’ll lose money due to exchange rate differences when the refund is processed.
2. TV Package Issue
I also purchased a TV package, but it doesn’t work. I went to one of their stores for help, and they made a call to my phone. The call came through, but I only heard music for about 10 minutes before I hung up—this was during their own test call.
Overall Experience
This company is completely unorganized. I’ll never purchase anything from MEO again. I already have several subscriptions with them, but I’ll be looking for other providers as soon as possible.

I called the hotline and requested in portuguese kindly to speak with a english speaking agent. The lady on the phone told me to shut up and f* off. Very racist company that does not provide the tiniest bit of service. I have contacted my lawyer regarding wrong billing as they are making claims 2 years !!!! after i have cancelled my contract and after i already payed 399€ in early cancellation fees as their service does not work

Our Village was reconnected after the fires on the 5th September but MEO did not complete the repairs and have left 7 homes without any connection.
I was told the repairs would be completed by the 25th September - it is now the 29th September and still no one has shown up.
I've been lied to since the 3rd September and MEO are not answering my messages and when I try to book an appointment at their local shop, as per their recommendation, they so not provide the local shop as an option.
They keep giving the run around and will not give me any update, information or answer.
Their Social Media Team are now blanking me and give generic replies to apologize for the inconvenience - I don't want apologies, I want the repair team that was promised on the 25th August would be here by the 3rd September.
It's now 6 weeks since the fire and I cannot get back to work

I am writing to share my frustrating experience with MEO in Portugal. I became a customer 2022 for TV, and internet. The problems began on May 2025 when the service went dead. I was traveling overseas and was not able to access my account since they had on record a wrong phone number. Upon my return to Portugal I contacted customer service at the beginning of July 2025 and spoke with an Agent who informed me that they would come by the house to check the problem. They arbitrary scheduled a visit at a time I was not home, so I messaged that I would not accepted that date - They showed up anyway, nobody was home and the marked as "problem solved" . I called again and a new visit was scheduled. Once the service was up, I requested a refund for the time the service was down. They had me transferred and talk to 5 different people, taking 3 hours of my time at work, to tell me they would not refund the 39 Euros as I requested. I then cancelled the service and lots of more problems piled up. They would not accept the equipment until I paid for the time I had no service, and to cancel the account, they added fees for administrative services .I also registered a formal complaint in the Livro de Reclamações but have received no follow-up.
This lack of communication and competence has been extremely disruptive, impacting my ability to work from home.
I would advise others to avoid this company if you value reliable service and effective customer support."

There is literally nothing one can do with Meo. Avoid using Meo for anything.
They are not helpful they in the day and age we are living in. I am from Africa and I had better companies in Africa then in Portugal.
What a utter waste of money and time.

I signed up for my contract at a shop in Chiado, which was nice and easy. I asked about my cancellation rights and was not made aware of that there’s a high fee for this (€120)
When I fell pregnant and needed to move in with my partner, I made sure to come back to the shop and told them, they said I need to call a number to do so and can only do it 1 month before. So I waited to do so at which point we had a person coming to the new property. They said they couldn’t do it with the infrastructure and so we had to call MEO back and they told us that I now have to pay €145.
So basically I got punished because I needed to move house because I’m pregnant.

I have Meo mobile phone, landline number, broadband and TV contract. The mobile is as flaky as it gets. The landline was foisted upon me forcibly. I do not use it as I have not use for it. The TV package is ok but the 1 channel that I have added works rarely and this is a premium. I spend more time attempting to rectify this problem then actually enjoying my life in Portugal.

Due to the sale of my house in Portugal, I attempted to cancel my MEO subscription in early February 2025. I first contacted the MEO store where I had taken out the subscription five years earlier. They told me the cancellation couldn't be done in the store, but had to be arranged by phone the next day. This resulted in endless call transfers, during which I had to provide the same information over and over again.
All this effort remained, due to MEO's active obstruction, fruitless.
The next day, one of my friends, Thea van Oosten, spent another day trying to cancel my MEO subscription by phone, and this, too, remained unsuccessful due to MEO's active obstruction.
In order to end the contract I , along with two others, went, the 4th of February, again to the MEO store but they refused again to end the contract. Finally I gave them the MEO equipment and asked for a receipt, which they also refused.
Thea van Oosten described how all this went on Trustpilot on February 11th,
It should therefore be clear that the contract was terminated at the latest
by February 4th 2025, when I left the MEO equipment at the MEO store.
Despite this, MEO has unlawfully debited money from my Portuguese account several times. Finally I blocked these write-offs by closing the Portuguese bank account.
MEO is still sending e-mails with invoices and reminders.
An additional problem is that MEO sends these invoices via a noreply-email- address, which protects them from receiving critical reactions.
Furthermore, In its, unbridled quest for money, MEO recently gave my email address to the debt assistance service ‘Ophelos’, which offered me its services regarding the payment of alleged invoices owed to MEO.
I, hereby inform MEO that I will ignore any further invoices or reminders without further explanation.
Without the slightest feeling of respect for MEO.

I have been a business client for many years. I recently upgraded my 2 year contract. Excellent representative with package that suited me perfectly. I basically went from 100 to 1 Gigabyte. All good until after 8 days no change - promised a 3 day 'turn around'. Telephoned Meo - again everybody making the polite correct responses and indicating that the correct procedures etc. had been followed but I eventually ended up with a 'Surly Technician'. His question asking 'what did I want' in essence undid all the positive interaction previously encountered. So faced with this I clinically indicated the problem and intimated that I did not appreciate that he had no idea why he 'had to talk to me'. In short he 'passed the parcel' and told me my 'problem' was now assigned a number and would be reviewed. This person who questioned the fact that I confirmed that I was not using WiFi to 'judge' the present predicament but Cat 6. In another life I employed many technicians running kilometers of Cat 6 and have a reasonable idea on the vagaries of band speeds and perhaps of more significance bandwidth(s) which is of course more significant when assessing download preformance for High Res Streaming etc. In short I was really polite and positive during all the earlier interactions but I draw the line with this rude unhelpful technically illiterate person. Meo need to listen to their tech interaction recordings - its not my first 'rodeo' here !

MEO sends contracts via links to accept the contracts.
So we had a Sattelite TV for our home for 15€, and suddently it stopped working. So we called MEO to resolve the problem, they were generous and wanted to send us a technician to solve it. Everything was good, when suddently they sent us a phone sms and an email to confirm the contract. ONLY BY CLICKING THE LINK!! so we didn’t because we saw on email that they added 5€ of additional costa, it ain’t much, but that’s how MEO is gaining profit.
Complete Scam.

Apparently I need to purchase another cable to fit between the Fibre box & my Laptop to get another Download reading and now need to purchase another phone that can be connected to the Fibre box! None of this was stated by the Engineer who attended. Having spent 10yrs paying for items I never had via a Meo Sub Contractor having installed my original WIFI I am very disappointed with MEO especially as they do not meet their own Contract side of the agreement.

I went to one of their stores this morning to cancel my contract because I am leaving the country. The store assistant told me that they will contact me at 12:30!! And guess what? 😂😂 now is 14:08 and I am waiting for 23 minutes for someone to just answer my call!! 😂😂😂😂
This is by far the worst ever customer experience I have received in my life and I am not exaggerating it.
I went to read some of the comments from other customers and I got even more surprised by the responses this company representatives are providing!! A very basic and simple copy paste!! What a shame! What a shame!

MEO is the most absurd and dishonest telecom provider I’ve ever dealt with.
I moved to a new address in December 2024. They told me everything was fine, they'd install service soon. They sent not one, but TWO technicians to my house — and still, no cables, no internet, no TV, nothing. Just promises and silence.
For almost a full year, I had no service at all — and they kept charging me monthly, sometimes even more than my original plan. After all that, they sent me a bill for €253, including a €243 “early cancellation penalty” for a service they NEVER delivered.
I went to MEO stores multiple times. I called their support. One agent hung up on me. Another said someone would call back. No one ever did.
Now I’ve filed formal complaints with DECO and the national arbitration center (CNIACC) because I won’t let this abuse slide.
Avoid MEO. Seriously. You’re better off with smoke signals.
