Considering 40 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the facilities, describing them as dated, rundown, and poorly maintained, with issues like threadbare carpets, broken amenities, and inadequate heating or cooling. The quality of the rooms and services also received widespread criticism, with frequent complaints about cleanliness, uncomfortable beds, and a lack of basic amenities. However, some people were satisfied with the staff, finding them friendly, helpful, and accommodating, particularly in specific locations. Hôtel Mercure Paris CDG Airport & Convention

Hôtel Mercure Paris CDG Airport & Convention – A very disappointing experience far below 4-star standards

Honestly, I do not recommend this hotel at all. My stay was extremely disappointing and far below what you would expect from a 4-star establishment.

While the cleanliness was acceptable, everything else was a letdown. The hotel is clearly very old, and the furniture is worn out and outdated. The room does not reflect a 4-star standard in any way — it barely meets the level of a 3-star hotel.

The bed was made of metal and extremely noisy. Every small movement caused an annoying sound, making it very uncomfortable to sleep and even disturbing others. This alone made the stay frustrating.

The service was even worse. I asked for slippers, which is a basic amenity in most 4-star hotels, but my request was refused simply because my room “did not include this service.” This is unacceptable and shows a clear lack of concern for guest comfort.

In my opinion, this hotel does not deserve its current rating and should be downgraded to 3 stars — and even that would be generous.

There are many better, more modern hotels nearby offering much better service for the same price. I strongly advise others to avoid this place.

Sarah reception haydock - 10 stars

Sarah was the lovely reception lady who greeted us from the moment we walked in to the hotel to every time we walked past and couldn’t do enough for us. She was so welcoming and so lovely and polite , there was a small incident during our stay which was no fault of the staff however Sarah insisted on apologising numerous of times as well as offering complimentary drinks and snacks to offer her apologies. As a regular returning couple we hope to be greeted by Sarah again as she has made our stay!

Sarah from mercure haydock , deserves a pay rise!! Lovely woman inside and out , her employer is SO lucky to have her as part of the staff and I wish Sarah all the best xx

Dissapionted

As im raising this matter as a i was exptecting a great service. Yet i have met with dissapointment i have been refused to move my date of resarvation by changing it on the app and also by calling the hotel to ask for updates regading my stay. But no clear answer were given so i have arrived the 2nd day of my booking and i was refused entry to the hotel due to a new law that i wasnt informed with and i showed my initial tasrih visa persmission to stay in makkah till the 18th of april.
The person on the reception refused to let me speak to a manager and to leave a note that i have passed by.
This have put me in a bad spot to find another expensive last minute hotel wich i demand to be part of my refund as well the taxi from the hotel that day i also demand an explanation of why did i not recieve any calls or email regarding my situation

Mercure Glasgow City Hotel

Mercure Glasgow City Hotel
26/03/26 - 30/03/26

Group booking made for an annual reunion for our Medical Unit. Firstly I would like to thank Val & Kirsty in Events for the easy and professional way they advised and handled all aspects of the booking.
On check-in, we had Matthew & Joy, who were friendly, helpful and professional, nothing was too much trouble for them, and everything went smoothly for all attendees. On my first morning, the lovely Anna assisted me with breakfast, again, nothing was too much trouble, and she was polite, friendly and professional. As I was staying for 4 nights, I put the sign on the door to say that no cleaning was required during my stay, however, the lovely Vansh from housekeeping, greeted me each morning, and asked if I needed anything, tea, coffee, milk, towels etc. She was also polite, friendly and professional. On the Friday and Saturday evenings we had a group, 3 course meal booked and looking after our every need was the lovely Rohim, Gabriel and Brandon, again, super friendly, polite and professional, making our event go very smoothly and a huge thanks to our chef for both evenings (sorry I didn't get your name) the food was beautifully prepared, cooked and presented. The groups final morning also went smoothly with the lovely Angela in charge, and with Lacey, Millie and Taleivi looking after us all.
We have stayed at a Mercure Hotel most years for our reunion, and to be honest, the Mercure Glasgow City Hotel has been the best Mercure we have had the pleasure to stay at. The whole team of staff were second to none, far surpassing any other Hotel stay we've encountered. Thank you all for making our reunion event a memorable one. Diolch.

** This hotel is due to be renovated over the next few months, rooms are a little dated, but they were exceptionally clean. One point from my stay in the only accessible room, there needs to be a plug socket on either side of the bed for any medical devices, e.g. CPAP device etc, however, during my stay, an extension cable was supplied, so no complaints there.

The dirtiest hotel ever…

I travel a lot for business and this simply has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
The carpets were soiled beyond belief there was mould around the bathroom sink the shower was dirty .
The bed was uncomfortable and I was rolling into the center I decided to pull back the sheets to try and sort it out. The stained mattress was disgusting.
The fridge in the room was also unfit for use.
I complained to two members of staff who were not interested I even complained to the manager and still nothing .
This hotel is disgusting.

What a shame

We visited the Blackburn Mercure Hotel last week. The staff were very pleasant. However, we were given a courtyard room. They seem to have a problem with drain flies (probably as a result of standing water). I suspect that this must affect all of the courtyard rooms. The room was also extremely hot and there was no way of turning the heat down in the room. Disappointing. We did tell the receptionist on check-out.

A shocking experience with Mercure…

A shocking experience with Mercure Sheffield. A close relative passed away which meant I had to cancel my reservation in order to attend the funeral. Yes, the reservation was non-refundable but with over a weeks notice given to to be able re-sell the room, the hotel response that the reservation would not be refunded due to “policy” has left me stunned. Zero customer focus and I’m left wondering where else they are cutting corners to make a buck. Beware if you book with this company. Profit is everything with them….

Awful Hotel…..AVOID!

Stayed at the Sherwood Nottingham Mercure Hotel recently and was thoroughly disappointed! The room was cold and heating wasn’t working, we were given a plug in heater and there was no hot water at all! Despite raising it with maintenance the room and water remained stone cold for the duration of our stay, the staff simply didn’t care, very disappointing!

A FILTHY DISGUSTING SMELLY HEALTH…

A FILTHY DISGUSTING SMELLY HEALTH HAZARD. And they remove truthful reviews to stop you realising all this, then try to block them with a date algorithm. THIS IS THE TRUTH!;
Toilet backs up. seat completely unattached. the filthiest threadbare carpets you will ever see. paint slops everywhere. .air conditioning unit rattling all night which you can't switch off. At breakfast we're told "No eggs" ! Filth dirt and dust all over wardrobe and filthy carpet. ALL the furniture belongs on the scrap heap...It is just the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. WORSE than the cheapest eastern European pension, At least their toilets work. Staff do not respond to requests. the "bar" only stocked five bottles of beer in a mini fridge, no draught beers, . they don't accept cash, and could not tell me how much a beer would be until I bought it!
The noise pollution consists of fighting drunks throughout the whole night, fire semsor lamp positioned directly above the most uncomfortable bed I've ever laid on. I LITERALLY never slept for a single moment all night. What a HELL HOLE of a place to be. The Shower was so mouldy we elected not to shower. There was no soap in bathroom. The room smelled. We cancelled our stay and checked out first thing next day, and then had to wait for almost a month before refund given. I am considering reporting this hotel to public health authorities, it is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, please do not subject yourself to it, literally anywhere will be cleaner than this. I FELT FILTHY AND CONTAMINATED UNTIL I GOT HOME TO SHOWER AND WASH EVERY ITEM THAT HAD ENTERED THE HOTEL.

Mercure Darlington

We have been staying at the Mercure Hotel in Darlington for the past 7 years and have not had any problems in the past.
We stayed at the Mercure Darlington on arrival the room was clean and tidy but on closer inspection the windows we very dirty the inside and outer windows from pigeons mess.
We also had a problem with our door card for 2 days we had to go to the front desk, for the receptionist having to program the card. On Saturday we tried to have a shower and the cold water was boiling hot complained to the reception staff just told us to run the cold water till it cooled down.
We tried to phone the receptionist but the phone did not work ?
The staff were very friendly and helpful with our complaints.

Buyer Beware

I made a mistake with booking a room for one night in June 2026 at the Mercure in Troyes thinking that it was a flexible one. On discovering that the date was fixed and that there was no restaurant in the hotel, I cancelled it within seven days leaving the hotel five months to re let the room and provide me with a refund. They refused outright. I am now £140 out of pocket and the hotel will earn double from the room when it is re let which is just greed in my view. I will not book this hotel again nor will I use Accor in future. Buyer beware, Accor and this hotel do not appreciate loyalty or their customers.

Due to tiredness from work

Due to tiredness from work. I booked Mercure Hotel Sherwood in Nottingham on 27/12/2025. I thought it was going to be a good deal, but I got this fine from their car park! The receptionist didn't bother to inform you that you needed to pay for car parking during your stay. The following day, when I noticed the car park charge, I asked the receptionist what to do: should I pay, and if so, how? She told me IT'S OKAY! I thought everything was okay. Now I need to pay a fine! I called them today, and the receptionist insisted that the notice is there for me to read. My verdict. Be careful if you still want to go to this hotel about their parking scheme, as they won't bother to inform you about the parking. You call it courtesy to at least inform your customer about your parking scheme. It is your responsibility as a receptionist to explain every detail of your stay, ensuring your customers are safe during their stay. NOT GETTING A FINE DURING THEIR STAY!!!

The rooms are not very clean either! The heater was so loud that I had to request a transfer in the middle of the night! Such a frustrating stay!!! NEVER AGAIN TO mercure hotel sherwood nottingham!!! I HOPE THERE'S A ZERO STAR FOR SUCH A REVIEW!

Mercure Stare Miasto, Krakow

Second stay at this hotel and this, like the last, was faultless!

Booked direct, upgraded to Junior Suite as we were staying for hubby’s milestone birthday. It was perfect, including birthday message on the mirror as we walked into room.

Perfectly located across the road from Galleria Krakowska and Glowny station and a 15-20 stroll to market square.

Love Krakow and love this hotel, we will be back!

Mercure in Westhoughton Bolton

Mercure in Westhoughton Bolton. I haven’t stayed but regularly use for this hotel for business meetings and lunches. Food and service has always been excellent. Good value, great location, close to the motorway network and plenty of parking available. Also near to Middlebrook and major stores like Marks & Spencer and Tesco’s. The Staff are always very pleasant and helpful. One particular member of staff (Irene) stands out as nothing is too much trouble for her. Perfect for lunch, business meeting or coffee stop.

Shocking customer service

If I could give this no stars I would! We booked 2 nights at the Manchester City Centre hotel for my son’s 30th birthday at the end of November. There was a few of us (family) staying in Manchester. Unfortunately we had to cancel as my mom had a nasty fall and broke her hip. She had to have a hip replacement and was in hospital for over a week. Naturally there was a few things we had to cancel, restaurant bookings, train tickets that were non refundable etc, all of which were so understanding and very compassionate to our situation. Not this hotel though! They were adamant that we couldn’t get a refund and that it was their policy regardless of any situations that occur. After a lot of persuasion I spoke to a man in the Reservations department who said we could swap the dates but only had a couple of days to do it by. Great I thought. My husband rang to change them for next Feb as we were again going to be visiting our daughter. He spoke to a different person I originally spoke to but they knew the man and said he wasn’t in the office but to ring again on the Monday to speak to him when he would be in. I actually emailed him but he said we were too late to book now by a day! He had no compassion at all and as you can imagine it was a very difficult time. It’s just a shame a big organisation could not have acted more thoughtfully. This man definitely didn’t care! Needless to say we lost over £400. We won’t be booking with the Manchester Piccadilly again!

Loss of booking due to being unable to contact hotel to rearrange date of visit for…

My husband bought an overnight stay for the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff for 28th December 2025 as a Christmas gift. However, unfortunately this date was inconvenient and little did we know the lurgy was about to hit our household. We attempted to contact the hotel on 25th December to rearrange date but despite trying on and off for most of Christmas Day, we ended up emailing the hotel. As of yet we have not received a response!! . We tried to contact the hotel via telephone on and off for the next two days and managed to speak to an American - who sympathised with our issue and said they would divert the call to the hotel reception. After being put on hold for 20 plus minutes we were cut off!

It is now the 28th December and we've still not been able to contact or get a response from the hotel. We are set to lose our payment as a result of not being able to request a postponement of dates.

It's unbelievable how you cannot make contact with the hotel or how they do not respond to emails. Surely they must have an email response policy like most organisations.
