I am told I have messages, I know I don't but face book needs me to download to prove I don't have messages. Control is fine, bullying with zero substance is alienating.

Worst app I've used - EVER

This has to be the worst app I've used. Didn't work when I tried over & over (on different days) to click on the message box. All I got from the Facebook Messenger app was annoying daily Messenger chat requests via email from obvious scammers who would not quit, so the app has been binned & scammer emails blocked from my email account. Don't bother - total waste of time. I don't understand why Facebook demands that users download such a lousy app. Sure, they want us to try it, but it's just sooo bad?!!! Seems that Mr Zuckerberg (CEO) & Meta are asleep at the wheel with the Facebook Messenger app. I'll stick with WhatsApp & Zoom thanks very much. At least those apps work!!

Annoying

I was required to install it on all my devices to communicate with friends. When wife wants to use ot she has to log off and log in again. At the past we were just using 2 different browsers.

complete garbage

complete garbage, i was required to install it on my device to communicate with online buyers, it constantly causes my device to lock up, i uninstalled it and my device now works fine, i am sure that it served its purpose in making billionaire zuckerberg even richer but other than that i could not see any reason to use it

A dead stick

It doesn’t work! You try to leave a review or comment, the boxes you are supposed to click on do not exist!
On iPhone, updated to the latest iOS, and then you get rejected for breaking community guidelines. Has FB learnt nothing from the Cambridge Analytica scandal? Governed by AI, not deleting data under GDPR standards. What is it 7 years? I reopened my account - photos from 10 plus years ago, still there.
Let’s face it, they are a dead stick. The kids are all Instagram these days.

Forced E2EE makes this app useless

The forced E2EE has made this app essentially useless to me. Chats continue to disappear and I am constantly bugged about putting in a pin when I don't have one. I understand if someone chooses to use it, but it's ridiculous to force it on users.

Dreadful

Dreadful. Been getting worse over the last year. No longer notifies me of anything. I have been through the settings many times, it still refusing to beep or vibrate. Also outright refusing to update my profile picture. Keeps going back to my older one.

Was the best messaging app, now the worst.

Recent changes including encryption…

Recent changes including encryption have rendered what used to be a really useful tool an exercise in frustration. a search for a contact doesn't yield the contact but loads of others you do not even know. constantly having to add a sync password . Just a pain in the neck now and the changes have degraded what was a useful messenging tool

Time to take out the trash!

Used to be great, I could sync all my phones, tablets and PC, now I can't. When I was travelling abroad and rely upon public internet services, I have no way of continuing my messages from history. No wonder so many people abandon Facebook, including yours truly!

Owned by Meta!

Meta is an example of what happens when a company doesn't have any real competition. It's very hard to navigate, bugs take away a huge amount of time from your life, making it unusable for busy people. And they don't care about social connections at all. Sometimes I get notifications for messages that I already read, sometimes message isn't delivered even in weeks even though the receiver was online, you can view stories from the app but reactions to stories isn't shown here, the list goes on..

Facebook admin should be in jail

The admin at Facebook are a complete and utter waste of time and air, they are a complete joke, it is full of scammers and as soon as you stand up to the scammers, you end up getting a ban, Facebook just does not care, not one little bit, it is as if they encourage it, if it is not getting bombarded messages from every part of Africa, it is on Market Place, and there is nobody to complain to, it just goes on and onsnd on, the Facebook employees should be working in a zoo as clowns
