Took my ring in for its 6 month check which you have to do otherwise the warranty is useless. Only one staff member serving 3 customers waiting. They usually offer a clean and polish with a smile,... See more

I checked their return policy and earrings were not listed so I ordered with confidence. The earrings were NOT 10kt gold, very low quality. My ear hole reacted almost instantly. Further, I was informed that they would not allow returns or refunds so I am now out over $300 for earrings that I cannot wear.
From Michael Hill's website:
"If for any reason you change your mind about any eligible jewellery or watch purchase, we will gladly refund the purchase price within 30 days of purchase provided the item/s are returned in ‘As New Condition’. The following items are ineligible under our Change of Mind Policy: resized rings (whether resized as part of the purchase or after purchase), engraved items, or special, custom or made to order items. Learn more For purchases made between 28 October 2024 and 25 December 2024, we offer extended returns until 26 January 2025."
Ordered and chose express delivery which their website explicitly states is 1-3 business days. Now past that time (not including public holidays of course) and nothing. Their response they're busy (aka not adequately resourced for the busy period) and it will be the non express time period of 2-7 business days. So I paid for nothing? Order from any other jewelers than this inept business.
So disappointed by the company’s policy re returns and exchanges
Received a gold chain for Christmas and when I tried to exchange it for a heavier chain - was told that it should have been returned within 30 days after the purchase time which was bought in October and I received it as a gift in December - I had the receipt
Was not informed of their policy on the receipt
Not a credible company
Husband bought pair of earrings that don’t fit /stay in. He was not advised that the earrings are not refundable or exchangeable. They won’t help, just pocket the money. How are we supposed to guess that you can’t exchange them?!?! Will never shop there again
Quality is very bad. Their sterling silver jewelry tarnish quickly and the quality is the worst I have ever purchased. Returns are out of the question because their sales is low and can’t wait to sell an item not to accept it to be returned. Their manager was on the phone ignoring customers. Bad bad bad
Delivery times falsely advertised and after you try calling them you will find out it’s going to arrive 13 days after the expected time, cannot refund even tho the ring hasn’t been made yet. Poor service and ruined Christmas ,
Note to Michael hill instead of putting a tiny box underneath the ring size selection talking about custom sizes let people know how long it will take Without the bs. And sorry to tell you but your just scammers at this point.
Cashel St review: don't even want to give a star. Really pushy saleswomen who clearly don't get on with each other. None of them could work my gift card. I did it easily on line. I then went to collect my earrings hut the store opened at 9.30. This is pathetic in tourism's international gateway to the South Island 5 days before Christmas in central Christchurch. I rang and they said it was not in their system. I had received notification the day before. Rude and dismissive. They did not give me the $1 change owed. I will not be shopping there again.
Would give 0 stars if I could. My partner bought me a bracelet and earrings in Adelaide. The bracelet broke after 9-10 months. I contacted them to ask what could be done as this falls under the 12 month warranty. As I live in New Zealand they advised it wouldn’t be under warranty, only in the country of purchase but I would be able to take it back and pay for a repair in NZ. So I took it back to Australia and was still told to pay $75 to fix a $99 bracelet. She couldn’t get hold of her manager to confirm the warranty so I left and contacted customer service who completely dismissed me and told me my warranty was not valid in NZ and basically to take it back to Aus. Which I did. But they couldn’t help. We went round in circles and she finished by saying they would be unable to help. Terrible customer service, I will never shop here again and will be recommending no one else does.
shout out to Josie from the hervey bay store, she demonstrated 1st class customer service skills, and went above and beyond helping me..;
thank you so much for understanding and no BS attitude. you are a asset to the company. thankyou once again
My husband purchased my beautiful $3000 ring last Christmas Eve , I went in today to book it for a service as it has a life time warranty however it’s null an void as it is every 6 months for a service which yes was in the fine print but I only wish the sales staff had of told him this at the time of collection as things may have been different
Very disappointing
Deceptive sales tactics online with ‘made for you’ products that can not be returned.
While browsing products online, products are not labelled as ‘made for you’ until you are about to add to cart. This then appears in small font.
Customer service is also very dismissive and not helpful at all.
I bought a product as a christmas present under the impression it would be here within a few days. Even had shipping confirmation and order tracking with Australia post.
The delivery had to be signed for so was taken to the post office. I left work early to pick this up and found that I went through all of that effort for the free gift.
It was not until I had to chase this up that I found the ring had not been sent yet and would not arrive until January.
Very bad experience and will never shop with them again.
Poor customer service. My husband had bought an eternity ring sometime ago. After few years, a few diamond pieces fell off from the channels of the ring. It was fixed, and I was told that the Chanel's aren't that deep and these diamond are factory set, so keep an eye on it. True to his words after few years I've lost few diamond pieces again. So now the company refuses to fix it, saying the ring is too old. It's wear and tear😲. I know for sure that I look after my rings and I have all my other rings much older than this one with no issues. I've been married 45 yrs. now.
I was told to take it elsewhere, if I wanted fixed. Really, MH can't fix it, but they know someone else can!!!. They refuse to admit it's factory fault.
For their information I had it fixed at my local jeweller for an affordable price. Thank you Prince Jewellers, Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane. Go to them if you're reading this and don't waste your time with MH.
Poor Customer Care!!!
I was extremely disappointed the other day when I went to purchase a gorgeous necklace from your company and when presented my gift card @ the POS the attendant told me it had expired . This was a $200 gift card . To my surprise I saw that it had expired but didn’t realise that this gift card had an expiration date, as many don’t .
I don’t understand why this cannot be honoured instore as $200 is still $200. Sadly I won’t ever shop @ Michael Hill in the future and have expressed this to my family & friends too
I recently went into MH in Bayside store & was served by a very unhelpful & rude staff member , I was picking picking up my beautiful expensive engagement ring , sent to be rhodium plated & was served by a Taylor , waiting a long time to be served , other staff apologized for the wait & on commenting about my engagement ring on sale , less than 1/2 price , the staff then stated “ we’re getting rid of the lesser quality “ diamonds & only keeping the better ones , I felt that my ring was now “ inferior quality “, I was embarrassed and totally ripped off by the quality of my now less than 1/2 price inferior ring .. it’s now lost its luster! Not happy with your customer service bayside store. Will not be returning or recommending.
Extremely poor quality jewellery. The gem in a ring purchased at Michael Hill for $6000 required replacement within a short time at my cost. This repair took 3 months.
Within 6 weeks of the repair, a prong holding the gem in place snapped off the ring again. The secondary repair is misaligned with the gem now sitting wonky with Michael Hill refusing to rectify! They claim their product is fine despite multiple instances of fault.
JUST BUY ELSEWHERE.
My husband bought me a pair of earrings at the Castle Hill store in NSW. It’s not something I would wear and we went back to exchange it within 24 hours. I didn’t even take it out of the box. They refused to exchange it. I think their exchange / return policy is ridiculous. For something so expensive that was untouched and returned to quickly, pretty poor. Other jewelers, including Pandora have better policies. Would never buy from them again. Very unreasonable.
I have been a Michael Hill customer for years. My husband purchased the extended 10 year warranty. I take my ring to get it checked on a regular basis if any claws needed to be fixed or ring dipped. The only thing that I ever had done was to get it dipped. After the warranty is done all of a sudden I needed to have 26 claws replaced. I don’t think they ever checked my ring properly. I won’t shop there again because I feel cheated.
A pair of earung broke through having a flimsy clasp. I paid over 100.00 for the hearing to be fixed. I made a complaint and was told it was wear and tear. It is not a braclet that gets hit or a ring that may knock on things....the only issue of supposed wear ane tear was opening and closing the clasp. Poor design and poor customer service. I won't be back.
Save your money
They do not stand behind their product.
I have purchased a chain 2 months ago and it broke at the clip, they refused to repair it as I had not purchased their warranty.
I got it repaired elsewhere and it broke again at a link this time.
$350. gold chain should not be so fragile.
