As a Chesterfield FC fan I’ve followed Michael’s photography on social media for a few years. I really enjoy scrolling through his pictures and seeing if I can see anyone or even myself in them. The quality of them is second to none. When I saw that he was bringing out a book, along with David Garret, of Chesterfields National League years I didn’t hesitate to buy a copy. It’s absolutely fantastic. The pictures and accompanying words really capture the last 6 years. I’ll treasure it for life as a reminder of the rollercoaster that was our National League years.

Highly recommend this book, excellent read, awesome photos, great value for money its a definite 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating from me thank you Michael South Photography 👏👏👏👏

Michael's photography is stand out on its own, true professionalism in every shot & couple that into a book & it's a winner, 'the National League Years' book he's co-authored is so well set out & presented anyone who has a copy should feel privileged. Also Michael is a genuine down to earth, polite guy.

The quality of all the pictures, is first class, as is the narration throughout (or as far as I’ve got up to this point).

Absolutely brilliant photographer and great guy!

We hired Michael to photograph the Derbyshire FA Sunday Senior Cup Final at Matlock Town FC, and his images were truly excellent. They really managed to capture the action, the emotion, and the atmosphere on the day.

Also, the turnaround in receiving the photos was really impressive. Within less than a day, Michael had sent over the full library.

Would definitely recommend!

Michael took a couple photos for me of a property and was quick and very communicative.

Professional from start to finish .Friendly , easy to talk to , organized in how u want ur shots in the order u want them .nothing too much trouble .easy to get hold of.great wedding pics and a pleasure doing business with . Decent prices for the package chosen has other seperate packages to suit people’s needs . Due to no laptop he put my photos on memory card and dropped them off at my house . We commissioned Michael to capture the highlights of a momentous and special junior football derby. This was on the back of the great work he’d done with Chesterfield Ladies FC.
From initial point of contact onwards Micheal would respond to messages and queries in a timely manner. He’d help plan out the event and provide great suggestions. During the event he put everyone at ease, helped organise and was able to capture some amazing action packed images that will last a life time! Within 48 hours we were in possession of lots of wonderful pictures.
More than happy to commission Michael for future events.

I knew of Michael from his sharing of photos from the Chesterfield FC matches on Facebook. My Grandad recently passed away and was having a tribute put up on the big screen at the match today, and I wanted a photo to remember it; unfortunately my phone wouldn't have captured the image as the screen sends the camera mad. I approached Michael to ask if he would be able to try and capture an image for me, and without hesitation he said he would do his best, and thankfully he did get us a really good one. Michael took photos of my sons football team when they were flag bearing for CFC. The photos are amazing and capture the day & many memories for the boys to look back on for a very long time. Michael has done an amazing job, photographing my sons football team as they did their flag bearing duties at Chesterfield FC on Saturday 11th November 2023. The photos are of such an excellent quality and captures all of the lads features and expressions brilliantly. We will definitely be hiring Michael again for when we have presentation evenings and probably for any other events we do. Michael is so down to earth and approachable. You would be silly to go anywhere else.

I help to run 2 grassroots football teams an U9 and an U10 and we recently did a matchday flag bearing experience at our local home ground CFC, For some of our children this was their first time at a football match and definitely first time doing something as nerve wracking as a flag bearing on front of over 9k people. Michael took some absolutely amazing photos, all of them show our boys with huge smiles on their faces and will be amazing memories for a long time to come. Thank you so much.

Michael has an excellent ability of capturing moments in time very candidly. Most of my exposure to his work is through following his match day galleries at Chesterfield FC.

At a recent match my son was able to celebrate with the players after the opening goal of the fixture. I messaged Michael to see if he’d manage to capture the moment and he had and he was more than happy to send the image over so that my son could show his friends at football training.
