Terrible repair service

Bought a PowerSpec G439 from here with a 2 year warranty right around a year ago. Have been getting an error saying "Over current have been detected on USB device! System will shut down to protect motherboard". I brought it in a week ago tomorrow, and it still" hasn't been assigned to a technician" is what I've been told. I've now been told twice they are going to email the manager to get an update, and they don't know when he works again. So much for their 48 hour repair service... I'll never buy from here again

Terrible Customer Service NEVER BUY WARRANTY

I purchased an extremely high end gaming device ($3500+) from Micro Center last year, including purchasing an additional warranty that covered accidental damage.

The laptop hinge broke for indeterminate causes (possibly accidental damage, possible manufacturer warranty covered failure).

The customer service dealing with their repair facilities is by far the most unacceptable and unpleasant customer experience you can have. First of all, you can't get ahold of anyone over the phone. Even the business card they give you with the new phone number doesn't work, it just rings for a bit then disconnects. They have a text message service, but they leave you on read any time it suits them for weeks at a time. They also seem to be lying to me because nobody can really give me a straight answer on what steps they've actually taken to resolve my issue. I seriously believe their extended warranties are just an outright scam. I don't even mind paying for a repair, I just want my machine fixed and 7 weeks later I still do not even have an ETA on the repair.

Most unprofessional company I have ever encountered

Reserved a Smart TV online upon conversation with the Micro center customer rep over phone. He assured this is brand new TV and I can reserve it by paying the amount on the website. When I went to pickup the TV at their Paterson, NJ which almost about 45 mins drive, store manager says if I need the TV I will have to pay extra $800. He said website has incorrect data and is maintained by their Corporate office. He can do nothing about it.

One piece of advice to the company. Be little professional and stick to your word. Never going to recommend them to any of my family & friends.

repair dept sucks, bad mgt

Like the store for buying (usually), but repair sucks - 5/20/22 mid-afternoon drop-off (escalate district manager, sending to contact store,

THIS REPAIR: I was told it would be checked in over the weekend and that for now 2 reps can handle Lenovo repairs instead of just one (bottlenecks the repair process). Well that didn't happen. Called several times last week and again 4x this week, still no answer on phone line (dead silence (should be some king of on-hold music or announcement like on national support)) for 3 to 5 minutes and then hangup. National Support last week was available (as always), but also couldn't reach store, so they just repeated that part is on order but didn't know why so long to check-in the computer. Followed-up with Text chat and they wouldn't respond to my inquiry on delay either. As I plan to leave town tomorrow 6/2/22 and pickup today 6/1/22, I again was disappointed as no update and no follow-up from store. National Support escalated a complaint and also requested store to contact me. UPDATE 5 hours later and no contact from store, but told National Support tells me part is now just being ordered instead of back on 5/24/22 after taking 5 days to check in? This store must have no process flow accountability of evaluation, ordering repair time-frame and client commitments, if this is true. I will continue to escalate all of these embarrassing problems to management at Micro-center Corporate.

LAST REPAIR (03/22): As per my previous repair which took almost a full month, I continue to experience store not picking up 90% phone calls. Last repair I called 20 times over 3 weeks and only got them to answer 2 times.

The Micro center in Queens (don't shop here)

The Micro center in Queens, NY on Kissena Blvd provides terrible service. They sell laptops that are faulty, and go out of their way to convince you to invest in expensive warranty packages that are usually not honored. I've purchased 3 laptops from this location and as soon as the return policy date expires, the laptop suddenly goes bad. I finally decided to take advantage of one of their expensive service plan packages and they've had my laptop for an overly extended period of time, and when I go into the store to inquire about it the manager stated "I'll get it back whenever I get it, and not to come back to the store inquiring about it anymore". I will no longer patronize this store or any other micro center for that matter, and recommend you look to make your purchases from somewhere other than micro center. Now I see why they have such a poor rating overall. 2 stars?!!!!! This company is a joke.

We went to the Denver store last week…

We went to the Denver store last week to purchase a refurbished computer set up. When you walk in there are hoards of sales people, but they only want to help you for a big commission. When we mentioned the refurbished set up we saw online, the guy was rude and started pressuring to buy something g new. We almost walked out of there being pushed and manipulated into buying something 3 times more expensive than what we initially came for. The guy was totally unfriendly and condescending. I will
NEVER go there for anything again!

I ordered two speakers on their website. It took forever before I got it, when I opened it one of the speakers is damaged. They packed the speakers like little kid. They put it inside a big box without enough padding, causing it to moved around inside the box and damaged it during the shipment. I called customer service to return it. The guy told me he will send me a return paperworks so I could send it back. It was a lie, I never received anything. I discourage people from buying here, their return policy is no good. Stay away here if you don’t want any problem.

Dishonest, practice like family owned busines

Dishonest, a lake of website, hidden policy, a lake of fulfilling their rule of the trade, worst customer service experience, not a reliable business, I don't recommend them at all.
These are my experience with the family-owned business model (microCenter). Which is not good for a business with business ethics and customer-oriented. I ordered graphic cards (six of them) for my first mining rig project, their website was shown on limitation per household. I choose the card that has unlimited stock and I ordered the online cards I received an email that the cards are ready for pickup.
I went to the store for pickup, I met a nice lady with a fake smile and said it is a new in-store limitation on this card to be one per household, which something didn't show online or even the confirmation email or the pickup. I told her I wanna talk to the manager she went and got me, Michael, who he supposed to be the manager... I don't think so.
So, he talk in a very rude way and said the microcenter manager has the right to refuse to process the order for no reason like we are slaves, not a client ( i own a company and I never tell my clients that, especially who is paying me money). Which not mentioned online at all that we will be controlled by somebody, I'm a client who ordered online and I received a confirmation email for pickup. ... and they said there's no commitment to fulfil the order to the client.
I called the customer service on the phone and when she heard me talking to the manager she asked me to talk to him, I open my speaker so he can talk to her. It seems she knows him or even she is some kind of supervisor because I heard her telling him do not to give me the order and fix the website.
I felt it is a kind of joke, it seems like it was a family business and the customer service, not real customer service. She is a boss and hiding in a customer service uniform. When I told her it is ethical to honour the order that I placed online, I received the confirmation email.
She told me to wait and placed me on hold for almost 30 minutes and then she came back to me and she said that she talked to the corporate officer and said we have to follow the fake limitation.
I tried to prove they are laying about that, when I was in the store I went online to microcenter website to see if they update this rule of limitation. But still, no limitation online and I placed another order, I ordered another 6 cards online with no problem...
The issue I don't like is how they are not reliable, family business with ethics or rules, small very small to compare it with BestBuy.
I ordered the same cards with $10 differences and free delivery to your house and their website is accurate with a limitation of 3 cards which I understand (demands, and supply) but published online.
I hoped microcenter will be professional in handling client complaints. I will not deal with these people anymore (microCenter). Especially in professional matters, they are not reliable and the customer service sucks, Brooklyn Manager his name is Michael and the lady with a yellow smile in the wrong position, customer service lady which looks like a manager hiding in a uniform which gives orders to the manager.
the total experience is awful. I'm feeling choked from such business to be fake and operate in family-owned orientation with limited experience of fulfilling their duties. I ordered from best buy which amazing experience and customer service.

I want to say they were very nice to me…

I want to say they were very nice to me as an international buyer that travelled 1200 miles to get a GPU , however I could have felt some racism from the guys at the front when they made some excuse and told me only US citizen can buy from their store which made no sense at all . I wish they get themselves rectified in there . Cashier's were super awesome and they even helped me out when I had a cab waiting . True customer service!!

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! If I could give this location a negative 5, I would. My brother and I went to this location in order to buy a custom built computer. We were told this place has experts who will give you honest recommendations on how to go about this. We spent almost $5K on a computer that does not allow my G drive to work. They also knew the new RTX 30-90 was out, but still allowed me to buy an inferior product that cost more and was slower. I tried to work with Micro Center staff, and they literally gave me the run around up until the return period expired. After that, they had no interest in helping even after my brother and I have paid this location at least 10 visits over the last 6 months in order to try to get this issue resolved. I spent $5k on a computer that won't allow me to perform the basic function of connecting a hard drive. RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!

Tied up $240 in my account for absolutely nothing

I ordered a pedal set that was listed as in stock. They authorized the payment on my debit card and then immediately sent me an email saying my order had been canceled because it was out of stock. The charge was on my account for almost a week before it dropped off tying up $240. Because of that I wasn't able to order another one from a different site and are now out of stock everywhere. I will never order anything from their site again. When I called to ask why they authorized the amount before checking and then immediately canceled the order after authorizing the amount the said that's just the way it is and it's up to my bank to release the funds because they didn't actually charge me anything. While on hold you get to hear how their web site is up to date in real time with current stock levels every 30 seconds. Which is a straight up lie because they still list it as in stock.

Most companies wait until they process the order and confirm it's in stock before authorization and then charge when it actually ships but, not this place.
