Shocking customer service
Shocking customer service. They don't accept returns unless they are unboxed which is ridiculous because you can't check if the product works. They constantly tell you how sincerely they apologize for the inconvenience but do nothing to resolve the issue. They told me they would give me a refund if I couldn't resolve the issue with their installation guide and then reneged on the promise. Terrible terrible company do not buy from Miele you well 'sincerely' regret it. Keep posting about this so customers know how bad they are
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. It is being outsourced, and it will cost Miele tons of business. This is my third attempt at contacting them, each time it takes over 1 hour of my time and still no resolution. I was told a part would be delivered today, today I called and it it scheduled to be delivered around 8/15/25. The representative lied.
Well
Well, refrigerator is very unreliable, more parts today on the 4 hour fix. Customer service is the worst, my area only one individual can work on it. Complete BS, but a different brand… any brand will have same support (zero) and not cost as much for poor quality product that not reliable.
I have never wasted so much time trying…
I have never wasted so much time trying to order parts for an appliance. The customer service and website is absolutely horrible. Ridiculous that you are even in business I guess that's what marketing can do .
Refrigerator /bottom freezer is 3 years…
Refrigerator /bottom freezer is 3 years old- bottom hinge has a plastic PLASTIC part on the hinge which broke- - 1 yr out of warranty and company not willing to consider a defect- can't open freezer 2 weeks waiting for appt- appt window is 3 hours - 2 1/2 hours in they call to say they need to reschedule bc the job requires 2 men and is VERY complicated so it will alison not cost the $189 quoted but $589- my 22 yo son alone put the hinge on in less than 10 minutes - BUYER BEWARE!!! Bait and switch and defective products- it's not the German ethic I Know- shame shame shame ! Called the San Diego Manager to ask where I can lodge my complaint- she would only give me a general email. Never ever buy MIELE - plastic HINGES?? seriously what junk!
New Miele Dishwasher handle fell off
I purchased a Miele dishwasher 8 months ago. The handle on the door came completely off on one side. There are 4 pins on each side that hold it on. The one pin present attaching the handle fell out onto the floor. On checking the other side of the handle, there were only 2 pins in place I called their customer service and was told that this was not covered under the one year warranty because I had accepted the installation (not knowing that I was required to lie on the floor and look at the underside of the handle with a flashlight to verify that it was attached with all 8 pins in place). I was sold by their customer service what I was told was a packet of 8 pins for $18.00 plus $15.00 for shipping. Turns out I only received 1 pin and they are $18 each. Customer service was of NO help when I called again. A letter to the CEO has been ignored. An appliance that cost almost $3000 should not be falling apart 8 months after purchase. Beware of this company which will not stand behind its products, no matter how high end they are.
Bad quality dishwasher
I purchased a Miele dishwasher in late 2021. It stopped working 3 weeks ago. I could not get anyone to come to service it. Even through Miele’s site. After 3 weeks they finally were able to put me in touch with a repair service. He was here today to tell me the circuit board was totally gone. $952 for the part and $420 for labor. Plus the $119 I paid today for the door call. Do not buy this brand!
Miele does not stand by their products
Miele does not stand by their products. I have a new wine fridge that has been broken for 7 months and Miele won’t provide a solution. I will never purchase another Miele product in my life.
12 months of unsuccessfully trying to…
12 months of unsuccessfully trying to get my $10,000 refrigerator fixed in Miami. Under Warranty. Sent techs 10 times, contracted out to Miele licensed companies in my area (only 2 and they don't deal with sealed systems which may or may not be my problem). They have replaced every component in my refrigerator. Like every single one! There is no one that deals with sealed system of the unit in my area so how is that my problem? My refrigerator has not worked for months, multiple Miele techs sent, have an atrocious smell that comes out of it if opened (I was told it the smell is freon) so it is taped shut so no one in the family accidentally opens it. Today was accidentally transferred to another department other than the main call center. The man from that department doesn't deal with home appliances but was kind and sent an email to the appropriate department to contact me. Perhaps that will work but not holding my breath other than when I walk into the kitchen past the refrigerator. Have to laugh a bit because have cried out of frustration for months. It's not right to get the run around. It's not right to not have a warranty and not exchange something that is obviously not fixable. I don't know what I am going to do. I can't believe that Miele can do this legally.
The good and the bad.
This dishwasher is quiet, I love the interior light, and the three racks. I also like the DOS detergent dispenser, which I was slightly ambivolent about. The three stars reflect the poor rack design for the lower large rack. It appears to have lots of slots for dishes. The problem is that the tines have no curvature, and consequently, very few dishes can fit. I waste so much space laying the dishes flat. I also purchased the flatware basket as an additional option. The darn thing doesn't fit into its space. You would think that the engineers would see these major design flaws. The top racks have many options for various dish sizes, but the bottom rack seriously lacks the same features.
We had a service call about the fridge…
We had a service call about the fridge door Dec 2024. We had two compliant: noise and door could be closed properly. But the service technician considered door closing was ok, only need to change closing damper. Now, we can not close the door anymore. The service was quite expensive, one compliant was ignored. We had Subzero for more than 15 years, never had such problem with service, very disappointed with this German brand which is supposed a high quality one.
Service technician broke the dishwasher function.
1. The dishwasher adequately washed dishes. But, the service was asked to bring parts to fix a dangerously falling door. No parts were brought.
2. The service arrived with parts but was unable to fix the door, stating that the machine had been installed before the floor was laid. THAT IS A LIE. He fiddled with the underside of the dishwasher and left.
3. The first time I turned on the washer full of dishes, there was no electricity. The machine was dead.
4. Hours spent repeatedly talking to service were ignored. Given a runaround and a few promised
return phone calls never happened. Supervisor was never available.
Not worth the price
The machine is ridiculously expensive and breaks down continuously.
Inferior product and with terrible customer service.
If you are thinking that you want to get a reliable washer and dryer that you will have for a long time, do NOT get a Miele product.
We purchased an industrial washer and dryer for our home. With three children, we do more than one load a day, so we got the industrial! The clothes are NOT cleaned well, As an example, I have to wash four pieces of toddler clothing 2-3 time on a "normal" setting with prewash soap to get the urine out of the clothing. The clothes when they come out of the dryer are so wrinkled that it appears I took them out while still damp, stuffed in a ball then taken out. It is unbelievable. Customer service has asked multiple times for pictures, which I send. Then when I call back, they say they don't have the pictures. Over and over again. We have had a technician at the request of Miele come out multiple times. They tell the local dealer they are sending a technician/engineer from their location in Chicago. They end up sending a very nice and hardworking local technician that does not work on Miele professional machines. Then he tells them what is going on, and they ignore it. I have literally spent more than 30 hours messaging, calling, working with technicians etc without any improvement.
Now the dryer that is less than two years old (an a professional grade machine,) just stopped working.
There is a lot more to the very disappointing and frustrating experience of purchasing a Miele washer and dryer, but I think the general idea is well expressed.
It used to be BUY BUY Miele, now it's BYE BYE MIELE
Terrible experience returning a part with incorrect specs on website. Will NEVER buy a Miele product again. 125 years gone to shit.
Miele customer service is so difficult
Miele customer service is so difficult. Multiple emails, long wait times and nothing gets resolved.
Beware of buying from them
This is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Their customer service was the total opposite to the German customer service in Germany, it was the worst. I wish I never bought anything from them, it’s not worth the hassle. Now, I’m going to have to buy thousands of dollars from appliances because of my kitchen. Do not buy another from the US store because of their German reputation (it is the complete opposite)
$300 wasted
$300 wasted. Internal pressure failure caused dust explosion. Completely useless now. Miele refuses do anything as it's been used over an year. Terrible product, zero support. Stay away!
Cheap ones will last 10+ years, no need to buy them every 2 years. What a joke! lol
Do not buy parts from Miele- USA
I repair appliances, Miele USA is the worst parts supplier I have ever dealt with. The parts are incredibly expensive in my opinion. My last encounter with them today was for a dishwasher door seal, The cost for the part was well over $100. I called two weeks ago and gave them the dishwasher Model number, what was sent does not fit. They will not refund your money if the cardboard box is open, you must have x-ray vision in order to view the part inside. In my opinion, this is akin to theft. When I called for a refund, the attendant first said that I had opened the box, then said I had called too late, basically saying anything to not have to refund the money they have stolen.
True to their word.
This is a modified review. After all was said and done Miele came through with the promised rebate. The dishwasher is fabulous. It's the first dishwasher my wife has ever liked. :-)
